Provide tactical direction and leadership to staff to ensure customer requirements are met while meeting our Penske goals and objectives. Create and foster a relationship with the customer's logistics manager to facilitate operational stability.
This position may be specific to one customer or group of customers with similar needs.
Schedule: Monday-Friday with weekends and off hours work, and travel as needed
Supporting: Transportation Operations in 2 locations and up to 200 Drivers

Salary: $95,500-$129,100 annually and bonus eligible up to 30% of base salary

**People:**
-Ensure that all supervisors understand how their work relates to the customers' business objectives, Interview and hire all associates up to supervisor level. Conduct exit interviews as needed, Build engagement by expressing pride in the group where the goals are met and recognize and reward associates for their achievements, Develop direct reports through training and succession planning.
**Operations:**
-Interact daily with our local customer to ensure we understand existing and emerging customer needs, Utilize team to identify operational improvements in areas such as route optimization, carrier selection, backhauls, trailer loading, inventory accuracy and warehouse operations, Collaborate with other Penske sites to share best practices, leverage resources/assets, etc.
**Finance:**
-Develop and execute annual financial and operating plan, Manage the operation with integrity to meet or exceed the Business Plan targets, Identifies issues with the operating metrics and P&L and responds accordingly, Ensure customer billings and associate payroll are prepared timely and accurately, the payables and intercompany charges are valid and correct, and all other activities are accurately reflected in the P&L.
**Safety:**
-Monitor and improve accident frequency, Ensure each associate understands their individual role and responsibilities, as well as the group's role and responsibilities required to achieve and maintain a safe work place, Proactively identify and correct unsafe conditions, work processes, and behaviors, Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies and company policies and procedures.
**Growth / Customer Experience:**
-Execute a process to track and record value delivered to the customer, Identify and seize profitable business opportunities, Utilize available metrics to monitor and maximize customer efficiencies and achieve cost savings.
**Fleet/Assets:**
-Monitor and improve fleet/equipment utilization and fuel efficiency, Contribute to equipment specification at time of start-up and renewal, Build a strong working relationship with local PTL district and other equipment vendors.

**Qualifications:**
-5+years related logistics and supply chain experience required
-At least 3 years managerial or supervisory experience required
-High School degree or equivalent required
-Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred. Degree will be required for advancement to most positions.
-Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and Powerpoint required
-Strong written/oral communication and organizational skills are required
-Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

- Make adjustment to the production plan-based changes in customer demand and available machine and human resources.
- Work with the production team to develop capacity contingency plans and help minimize the impact of capacity issues on other departments and our customers
- Learn and understand our purchasing process and be a resource for the purchasing department.
- Use historical supplier performance and other data to best project future supplier performance allowing for improved order timing and quantity.
- Learn and understand our business processes and become a strong user of our Epicor ERP system.
Experience

Job Description
Role Summary: The Director of AI - Supply Chain leads AbbVie's strategic direction for artificial intelligence initiatives focused on optimizing and transforming global supply chain operations. This role is responsible for defining the vision and strategy for leveraging AI in supply planning across AbbVie's worldwide network, developing frameworks for supply chain innovation, and ensuring that AI projects deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, agility, and resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Develop and execute an AI strategy for global supply planning & logistics, aligned with company priorities and operational objectives.
+ Identify, evaluate, and collaborate with external partners, technology vendors, and institutions to advance supply chain AI capabilities.
+ Lead cross-functional teams to implement and scale AI solutions for demand forecasting, inventory optimization, production planning, and logistics.
+ Oversee governance and compliance frameworks for supply chain AI initiatives, ensuring regulatory and ethical standards are met.
+ Monitor emerging AI technologies, methodologies, and best practices relevant to supply chain management.
+ Serve as primary point of contact for AI-related supply planning projects and external collaborations, ensuring alignment and achievement of joint goals.
+ Communicate outcomes, impact, and value of AI-driven supply planning projects to executive leadership.
+ Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making within global supply planning.
Qualifications
+ Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Data Science, or related field; business qualifications preferred.
+ 10+ years' experience in Supply Chain or associated roles, including leadership or significant experience in supply chain or operational planning.
+ Proven track record of leading large-scale, cross-functional AI initiatives in supply chain or manufacturing environments.
+ Strong negotiation, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
+ Deep business acumen and understanding of supply chain operations and strategy.
+ Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex technical concepts to various stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:
+ Experience with pharmaceutical or healthcare supply chain operations.
+ Understanding of relevant supply chain regulations and compliance (e.g., GMP, GxP).
+ Knowledge of data privacy, ethical AI principles, and supply chain risk management.
+ Strategic mindset with the ability to anticipate trends and opportunities in AI for supply chain.
