Position Overview
The Maintenance & Store Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of store maintenance, facilities, both on-site and off-site upkeep, and logistical operations to ensure a clean, compliant, safe, and organized environment. This role requires a strong blend of hands‑on technical expertise, leadership skills, and operational management experience to effectively coordinate maintenance activities, vendor services, and inventory flow.
This individual will oversee the Alberts Diamond Jewelry Store Location in Schererville, our off-site storage facility while working with and supporting a maintenance/janitorial staff of 2-3 employees.
Key Responsibilities
• Facility Maintenance & Compliance – Oversee routine and preventive maintenance for the Alberts store location and one off-site warehouse facility, equipment, and systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety, health, and regulatory requirements.
• Cleanliness & Organization – Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and visual presentation across all areas, including sales floors, stockrooms, storage areas, and exterior premises.
• Logistics & Inventory Flow – Manage stockroom and back‑of‑house organization, ensuring efficient inventory storage, product movement, and replenishment processes.
• Vendor & Contractor Management – Source, coordinate, and oversee third‑party service providers for repairs, maintenance projects, and supply deliveries.
• Preventive & Emergency Repairs – Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules; respond promptly to emergency maintenance needs.
• Budget & Cost Control – Manage maintenance and logistics budgets, monitor expenses, and identify cost‑saving opportunities without compromising quality or compliance.
• Health, Safety & Regulatory Compliance – Ensure store operations meet OSHA, environmental, fire, and other applicable regulations.
• Team Leadership – Train, schedule, and supervise maintenance of 2-3 employees and support staff to ensure optimal performance and adherence to company standards.
Qualifications and Skill Area
• Proven experience in maintenance, facilities management, or store operations logistics (retail or similar environment preferred).
• Strong technical knowledge of building systems, equipment, and maintenance best practices.
• Familiarity with OSHA, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Excellent organizational, problem‑solving, and time‑management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in basic maintenance tools, equipment, and repair techniques.
Weekend work required

Qualifications:
• CDL Class A required
• Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card required
• 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years required, or 2 years of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 5 years
• 3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
• In order to be compliant with federal law (49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2 , this role requires English language proficiency
• Work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.
• This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required. Associates must have the ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others.

- Unload trailer using manual pallet jacks, hand trucks, and rolling cages
- Use scanner to scan products as they are unloaded and delivered
