ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Supply Chain Strategy & Optimization

Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance supply chain performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness across all facilities.

Monitor key supply chain KPIs and align goals with broader business objectives.

Partner with suppliers to drive continuous improvement through shared savings and quality improvement initiatives at each location.

Analyze data to identify and resolve bottlenecks in procurement, inventory, or delivery processes.

Procurement & Vendor Management

Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

Lead all supplier relationship management and contract negotiations across multi-state cannabis cultivation and production facilities.

Evaluate supplier performance regularly and negotiate contracts that deliver favorable terms and long-term value.

Ensure timely and accurate issuance of purchase orders based on production schedules and inventory requirements.

Inventory & Logistics Operations

Manage and maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production forecasts while preventing shortages and excess stock.

Oversee inbound and outbound logistics operations to ensure smooth material flow.

Collaborate with warehouse, production, and fulfillment teams to synchronize supply chain activities.

Utilize enterprise resource planning (ERP), warehouse management systems (WMS), and other required technology to optimize inventory control and logistics operations.

Process Improvement & Automation

Identify and implement opportunities to enhance efficiency through automation and innovative technologies.

Develop and enforce policies that streamline supply chain processes while maintaining quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives across planning, sourcing, and distribution systems to drive operational excellence.

Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure full compliance with state regulations, as well as industry best practices.

Maintain accurate documentation and audit readiness for supply chain transactions, inventory movements, and vendor interactions.

Respond swiftly to supply chain disruptions, delays, or compliance issues, ensuring minimal impact to operations.

Team Leadership & Communication

Train and support team members in supply chain procedures, systems, and best practices.

Communicate proactively across departments to align supply chain priorities with business needs.

Establish credibility throughout the organization as an effective problem-solver and strategic partner in addressing operational challenges.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, or a related field.

Seven (7) + years experience working in a warehouse or manufacturing environment with a focus on purchasing and supply chain operations.

Five (5) + years experience as a people leader, leading a team or purchasing specialists.

Strong knowledge of purchasing, inventory management systems, and logistics coordination

Proficient in ERP systems, supply chain dashboards, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Unity Lab Services provides a single source for coordinated lab service, support, and supply management. Our customized service offerings and world-class service experts have the flexibility and experience to uniquely address our customers' laboratory business needs.
**Responsibilities**
+ Inventory Management: Stock room, POU management, dispensing of products, etc.
+ Order Management: Order entry, order expediting, order tracking, customer service support, etc.
+ Drive Process Improvement culture
+ May perform other responsibilities as assigned by management
**Education**
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. Military Service/Training is also considered.
**Experience**
+ 4 years of related experience in inventory management (laboratory setting preferred).
**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities**
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills, and a desire to deliver excellent customer service. This includes maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor in all interactions and upholding Thermo Fisher Scientific's values.
+ Demonstrates computer proficiency and possesses intermediate skills in the Microsoft Office suite of software. Uses organizational skills to multi-task and meet due dates as needed.
**Physical Requirements / Work Environment**
+ Requires the ability to lift, push, and pull 30-40 pounds consistently; may be required to lift 50 pounds occasionally, including operation and use of pushcarts, pallet jacks, etc.
+ Ability to stand/walk for long periods
+ Works primarily at customer sites, which may include spaces where chemical-based allergens are in use (such as penicillin, tetracycline, etc). Depending on the area of the building, personal protective equipment may be worn.
+ Ability to work overtime, as needed.

What You Will Do:

  • Actively participate in the consolidation of Supply Chain Management (SCM) financials, inclusive of Logistics, FCAT (Fiat Chrysler Automotive Transportation), and IRF (Inter-Regional Flow). Report the status and value against forecasted targets.
  • Provide process improvement recommendations for continuous enhancements in the areas of efficiency and accuracy for all related Financial Consolidation activities.
  • Planning and coordinating various monthly deliverables with North America (NA) Supply Chain Finance team.
  • Reconcile data, report analysis, and perform financial reviews with various stakeholders.
  • Actively participate in the annual budgeting process for NA Supply Chain Management including Logistics, FCAT, and IRF.
  • Responsible for cash flow forecasting for NA Supply Chain.
  • Engage in Business Plan development to support FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis); be liaison between Supply Chain Operations and Finance.
  • Support in month-end close requirements as needed and reconcile the various groups actuals on a monthly basis.
  • Understand customer needs for data analysis, develop and provide pertinent, easy to understand reports and financial analysis.
  • Support work rationalization and automation projects in the FP&A and SCM Finance team.
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting as needed for all levels of management.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of work experience, with minimum of three (3) years variance analysis experience (actual/budget/forecast comparison) and period-to-period analysis required.

  • Ability to multitask and adapt easily to change, including prioritization of assignments.
