Logistics Coordinator

The Logistics Coordinator handles transactional work on the accounts and will work closely with transportation providers (Carriers) and internal support teams to identify opportunities for improvement. The Logistics Coordinator is the primary transactional based day-to-day contact and covers the customer service role at plant level. The Logistics Coordinator will play a key role in achieving ProTrans objectives and contribute to identifying, analyzing, and developing supply chain solutions to improve Customer's experience.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Communicate with TL carriers to confirm pickups and deliveries exceptions and perform check calls in ProTrans' TMS System.
  • Facilitate successful border crossing operation in conjunction with Border Crossing team and notify Customers about any deviation on customs process at the border.
  • Responsible for arranging the expedite shipment needs of the Customer and effectively communicating with ProTrans' Expedite team.
  • Assist Customers plants with daily operational issue resolution.
  • Responsible for escalating service level issues to Operations Manager.
  • Communicate holiday schedules to customers and/or any internal adjustment at ProTrans.
  • Responsible for ensuring the customer is aware of any exceptions in performance, delays etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring reporting is distributed as necessary (daily, weekly, monthly)
  • Work with ProTrans' Account Receivable team to secure billing process on a timely manner.

Additionally, for 3PL Accounts:

  • Logistics Plan Management: responsible for fully understanding the logistics plan for their customers. Gather, understand, and submit complete changes/adjustments to the plan.
  • Responsible for entering bid requests as necessary to accommodate the plan and adjustments to the plan.
  • Responsible for ensuring unplanned requests are handled for the customer.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.

  • Critical Thinking / Problem Solving. Utilize problem solving skills and excellent customer service to resolve complex and intricate problems within supply chain and logistics plans.
  • Serve as an integral point-of-contact stationed between both ProTrans and Customer.
  • Interact with varying levels of management and operations within a matrixed organization.
  • Remain compliant with Customs and C-TPAT regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to adapt and react to frequently changing circumstances within logistics.
  • Strong ability in time management and the maintenance of several occurring tasks and projects.

Education and/or Experience

  • +1 year of industry experience within logistics and supply chain and/or bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation or business-related field.
  • Automotive logistics experience preferred but not required.
  • Willing to travel both nationally and internationally to customer locations within the ProTrans International network.
  • Experience using web-based business intelligence tools and Microsoft Office.

Language Skills*

  • This role requires solid verbal and written communication skills in English (bi-lingual abilities in Spanish is preferred)
  • Ability to read and interpret document such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively in English and Spanish before a group of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills*

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, trends, statistical techniques and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability*

Ability to solve practical problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills*

Excellent computer skills including all Microsoft Office programs.

Position Summary
  • Provides Shipping and Receiving services by loading and unloading material from trailers/containers, ensuring material is free of damage. Stages resin and production supplies for production use and stages finished goods from production line to warehouse for storage and order fulfillment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receive materials from outside vendors and other site locations.
  • Unloads trailers and stages materials on the shipping floor.
  • Utilize SAP to document receipt of incoming items for production.
  • Completes 7 Point inspection form for export shipments to comply with C-TPAT guidelines
  • Monitors incoming and outgoing materials, verifying identifying information for accuracy.
  • Puts away inbound items. Examines incoming materials to ensure that they are intact and damage free.
  • Pull resin samples and identify all resins with applicable labels, including certification labels indicating ready for production use
  • Stages resin and production supplies for daily production use and stages finished goods from production line to warehouse for storage and order fulfillment.
  • Stages and labels all customer orders
  • Loads trailers for customer orders by following pull sheets provided by Warehouse coordinator
  • Ensures that the trailers are inspected, and safety procedures are followed.
  • Inspect lift daily and perform maintenance on the vehicle and report any maintenance deficiencies.
  • Follow all GMP guidelines and Shipping procedures
  • Complete PFS duties on a daily, weekly, monthly basis based on required task.
  • Coordinates inbound and outbound logistical operations including inventory management, warehousing, and transportation to ensure sufficient supply of goods and products
  • Controls the commercial impact of the complete range of activities from receiving, locating and dispatching, sourcing, purchasing and optimizing inventory levels
  • Administers an effective system that meets the organization's inventory control needs through efficient transportation of raw materials, component parts and/or finished goods

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Forklift Certification
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to interface effectively with employees, vendors and customers of all levels.
  • Flexibility within a high performance work environment.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.

Ensures the orderly stocking and/or timely delivery of merchandise. Maintains and updates the purchase order system as shipments are received, cancelled, or back ordered. Processes inventory paperwork. Updates management on all inventory issues on a regular and as-needed basis. May participate in activities including kit and bundle breakdown and component sorting. What you bring to the role: Established and productive individual contributor. Works under moderate supervision. Problems faced are typically routine, but may at times require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures. Makes minor adjustments to working methods. Communicates information that requires explanation or interpretation. Provides administrative or technical support at an intermediate level. Still gaining or have attained full proficiency in their specific area of discipline. Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice. Works under moderate supervision. May seek the advice of senior personnel in the functional area. Normally follows established procedures on routine work, requires instructions only on new assignments. High School Diploma or equivalent, 2 year degree preferred. 3 years of general experience or 2 years functional experience. Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $30,200.00 - $45,300.00 per year.

The ranges above reflect the potential annual base pay across the U.S. for all roles; the applicable base pay range will depend on the candidate's primary work location, pay grade, and variable compensation plan. Individual base pay within each range depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time of hire. New hires starting base pay generally falls in the bottom half (between the minimum and midpoint) of a pay range.
