Palmer Candy is looking for an Inventory Control Clerk at our Hwy 75 location.
1st shift will work Monday-Friday. Monday-Thursday hours are 5:00 am- 3:30 pm with Friday hours varying from 6 to 10-hour shifts. Saturday hours may be scheduled due to business needs.
Team Member’s will be notified by plant management if schedules were to change outside of the times listed above.
Job Title: Inventory Control Clerk
Reports to: Inventory Manager
Job Summary:
This position provides support and backup assistance with inventory control and other administrative duties in our Highway 75 warehouse.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Use a computer to precisely record finished production including item number, lot codes and quantities.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and maintain label inventories.
- Monitor lot codes and expirations of finished goods and ingredients, pull inventory and put it on hold, if necessary, and notify quality dept/sales team to get product moved accordingly.
- Assist warehouse team with a variety of tasks including correcting systematic picking and receiving issues.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisors and/or management.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Strong attention to detail is a must.
- Ability to communicate effectively across all functions within the plant and the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with individuals at all levels.
- Ability to work overtime as needed and as required.
- Ability to maintain acceptable standards of conduct.
- Ability to verbally communicate proficiently in English to effectively engage with internal teams. Applicant must be proficient in reading and understanding English-language manuals, equipment, instructions, and other documents relevant to the role.
Education and experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous inventory and/or warehouse experience preferred.
- Experience using a scanner for warehousing preferred.
- Pallet jack experience preferred, forklift experience a plus, must be willing to be trained to do both.
Work Environment:
- Office and Warehouse environment
- Temperatures of warehouse may vary
Physical Requirements:
- Lift 5 – 25 pounds frequently and up to 40 – 50 pounds occasionally.
- Sitting and/or standing for long periods of time
- Must be able to go up and down stairs, and walk to other departments in the manufacturing facility
- Repetitive motion and fast paced movement
- Work will require bending, stooping, squatting, and reaching
