This role offers the opportunity to work on a temporary to permanent basis depending on business needs. The position involves driving either stake beds or flatbed vehicles with automatic transmissions. Drivers will transport pipe and other waterwork materials as needed. Delivery distances vary from local to a few hours away based on customer requirements. No overnight travel is required. Approximately 75% of the job involves driving, while the remaining 25% involves assisting in the yard, though these percentages may vary based on business needs. Yard work includes helping load and unload customers and LTL deliveries to our site, as well as sorting and storing materials outdoors.
Must Haves
- Physical capability to manually move materials around the yard or job site, up to 50 pounds.
- Fork-lift certification with at least 1 year of experience.
- Ability to operate smartphone applications.
Job Functions
- Deliver materials by the time scheduled by your supervisor.
- Validate directions.
- Unload or assist in unloading material as required.
- Ensure that material is properly secured and within weight limits.
- Ensure delivery of ticket with material and obtain customer signature.
- Communicate with your supervisor throughout the day.
- Pick up customer returns and validate that product matches request for credit.

- Verify all material has been unloaded and placed at the delivery site.
- Verify the customer's signature on the delivery ticket.
- Print name next to signature if necessary.
- Review delivered orders with the supervisor for completion, accuracy, and format.
- Return all delivery ticket copies to warehouse and verify that none are missing.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) standards and regulations.
- Fuel the truck as necessary.
- Report any vehicle problems, moving violations, accidents, and defects to the supervisor.
- Compliance with company uniform policy.
- Assist in warehouse as necessary.
- Represent the company in a professional manner at all times ensuring quality customer service.
- Abide by all policies, rules, and regulations of the company including all applicable safety rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Support corporate programs, goals, and initiatives of the company.
- Work overtime as needed.
Hours : Monday to Friday, 7AM-4:30PM. Overtime is expected. Discuss further during the interview. Not required to clock out for lunch.
Skills
This is a customer-facing role. On a daily basis, you will come in contact with our customers and will be expected to be personable and friendly. Good communication skills are important.

About the Role:
The Delivery Driver role is a crucial part of achieving our mission of making healthy food more accessible for everyone. You’ll deliver food to our wholesale retail partners and Smart Fridges. Your job is to own your route by making sure that deliveries are sent to the correct address, during the correct time window, and ensuring our customers are getting the best possible delivery experience. You will be the face of Farmer’s Fridge when making deliveries so it is crucial that you have a positive and professional attitude.
- Drivers safely and efficiently maneuver city streets in a company-owned refrigerated van, deliver food to customers, fridges, and retail partners, and then use an iPad to communicate completed deliveries
