We are hiring for a Machine Operator in our Kingsport, TN facility. Machine Operators are responsible to operate the machines to ensure a continuous flow of product to the production processing lines. This role sets up, monitors, and adjusts machine settings as needed throughout production shifts using computer screens.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Operation of Combination Scales. This includes setting up machine to make a certain weight to be packaged; trouble shooting for overweight or underweight issues; trouble shooting to avoid wrong dumps and case of rework/defective product.
- Operation of Bagger Machines. This includes setting up packaging machine to form a bag; trouble shooting for defective seals and appearance; maintain efficiencies on machines by maintaining machines running; and other activities such as preparing files, materials, tools, formers, inspection checks, etc.
- Communicating in the work environment, keeping other team members informed of any issues or problems that arise in the operation of the machine. This includes supervisor(s) and/or maintenance should the machines require maintenance during the working shift.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- High school diploma or GED and Previous experience in a manufacturing setting or a related position.
- Experience in the food manufacturing industry preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to operate machinery.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues on the machine.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to collaborate with others and work independently.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This position requires the use of special safety precautions and/or equipment, e.g., working around operating machines, working with hazardous chemicals and materials, etc.
- While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; walking over slippery surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items such as samples and record boxes. This position requires frequent pulling, carrying, and lifting up to 70lbs.

Key Responsibilities
- Studies shop orders, DHRs and work instructions to determine product specifications, tool requirements, and operational sequences.
- Sets and adjusts machine controls according to product specifications, utilizing knowledge of machine operation and gauging.
- Activates machine start-up switches to grind, lap, hone, debar, shear, or cut work pieces, according to specifications.
- Observes machine operations to detect any problems; make necessary machine adjustments to correct problems.
- Adjusts machine parameters using machine touch screen interface.
- Inspects or measures endodontics files to determine conformance to required specifications, using measuring instruments such as gauges or comparators.
- Operates 6-8 CNC Machine Files New Beckhoff (MKNBs).
- Performs machine Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) at start-up.
- Selects machine tooling and changeover details to be used, utilizing knowledge of machine, production requirements and process documentation.
- Mounts and positions grinding wheels and perform tooling changeovers using hand tools.
- Maintains housekeeping (5S and 6S).
- Depending on the needs of the company, the employee may be entrusted with and asked to perform other tasks related to his/her competence.
Education
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred, or combination of work experience and education; Technical degree a plus (AS or BS)

Our Johnson City, TN Location is looking for someone to join their Brass Handle Cell as a Machine Operator. This is a 2nd shift position scheduled to work Monday through Friday, 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm.

**SCOPE**
This role charter covers the functions of the brass handle cell that includes Packing, Auto Pack and Auto Paint. This cell ensures that rotary instruments are assembled and packed according to the Device History Records. Ensures products are correctly labeled and packed properly. Paint bands and rings according to product specifications.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Auto Pack Operations includes:
+ Operates auto packs machine.
+ Loads slides/packs for machines.
+ Cleans bowls to pack machine as required.
+ Reviews packs to ensure quality.
+ Groups packs as required and places in indicated storage boxes.
+ Completes paperwork as required.
+ Repairs machines as needed.
+ Labeling Operation includes:
+ Labels instruments.
+ Inspects instruments to ensure quality and correct labels.
+ Checks Device History Record (DHR) against orders.
+ Inspects paperwork for accurate specifications and documentation.
+ Auto Paint Operation includes:
+ Operates band and ring painting machines.
+ Paints rings and bands on handles/files according to specifications.
+ Turns on and off machines and ovens as required.
+ Performs quality review of painted items.
+ Places painted objects in oven as required.
+ Adjusts and cleans machines as needed.
+ Catalogues information as required.
+ Auto Assembly Operation includes:
+ Operates auto assembly machine.
+ Loads handles and files into machine.
+ Loads the stop cord into machine.
+ Monitors operation.
+ Performs quality review of assembled files.
+ Brush Machine - Operates as outlined in Work Instructions
+ Calibration Lines Paint Machines - Operates as outlined in Work Instructions
+ Label Printing (Kiaro! And Zebra printers) - Operates as outlined in Work Instructions
+ Ensures Vortex Blue products are heat treated within specifications
+ Confirms that heating data is correct.
+ Brush machine is utilized to remove debris from file(s).
+ Depending on the needs of the company, the employee may be entrusted with and asked to perform other tasks related to his/her competence.
**EDUCATION**
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred or equivalent of work experience and education. A technical degree or certification is a plus.
**YEARS AND TYPE OF EXPERIENCE**
Minimum of 1 year machine operation experience or equivalent technical work/education experience.
**KEY REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND CAPABILITIES**
+ Ability to handle small, sharp pieces.
+ Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair and maintenance.
+ Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine to exact positioning.
+ Ability to use a magnet, microscope, scale, and X-Acto knife as well as Allen wrenches for adjusting of machines.
+ Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing and distribution of goods.
