• Order Fulfillment: Pulling orders, packaging lumber bundles, and preparing shipments for delivery.
• Forklift Operation: Safely operating a forklift to move materials and products around the facility.
• Machine Operations: Operating various machinery, including but not limited to planer, sander, shaper, rip saw, and upcut saw.
• General Labor: Assisting with other tasks as needed around the facility to maintain smooth operations.
• Measurement & Accuracy: Must be able to read a tape measure and work with precise measurements.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with fellow team members to ensure quality production and efficient order fulfillment.

Work Hours:

• Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• Occasional overtime (seasonal) and occasional Saturday half days, as needed.

Converting Machine Operator - 1st Shift (5 AM - 3:30 PM)

Operates machines in the Converting and Finishing Department to rewind and slit materials into rolls of specified widths and lengths depending on customer requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Reads and understands work orders to determine customer product requirements.
• Sets up, adjusts, and runs equipment to meet customer requirements.
• Retrieves material specified on work order by using rolling carts or forklift.
• Adjusts machine parameters to specified width of material as required.
• Mounts master roll of material on machine, supports and threads material over tension bar, between feed rollers, and under rotary blades.
• Notifies supervisor of shortages, quality issues or additional slit rolls to be converted.
• Inspects product during slitting process and accepts it if it is within quality specifications.
• Follows procedures for rejecting material if product is not of proper quality.
• Processes all paperwork and computer data to complete customer orders.
• Coordinates with material handling to ensure material packaging meets specified requirements.
• Coordinates with material handling on material movements required to meet shipping and/or stocking requirements.
• Maintains equipment and cleans work areas.
• Conducts safety inspections of work area prior to and during shift.
• Supports other departmental activities such as cutting cores, operating power cutter, and helping in Line Packaging area.
• Performs any other activity as required for by Management.

Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Must be able to follow written and oral instructions
• Must be able to use various measuring tools such as scales, rulers, graduated cylinder, and other laboratory devices.
• Proficient math skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Physical demands include; regularly required to stand, walk, talk or hear and climb ladders with great heights. The employee is frequently required to; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance. Converting Machine Operator - 2nd Shift

This position is responsible for operating a machine to ensure efficient equipment operation and production of high-quality products.

Second Shift: 3:00 pm - 1:30 am

Key Responsibilities:

• Work safely utilizing a working knowledge of LOTO, PPE, and other safe work practices
• Perform general set-up of machines
• Prepare materials for the production process
• Load and unload material from the machine
• Assist in monitoring the operation of the machine
• Track and label finished products manually and electronically
• Communicate effectively with helpers, supervisors, and maintenance to resolve issues
• Set priorities to match the importance of job assignments
• Participate in continuous improvement projects and teams

Physical Requirements: Lifting, carrying, and moving up to 50 lbs., standing up to 8+ hours a day, twisting, bending, squatting, and varying temperatures

Education: Minimum High School diploma or GED

Experience: Prior experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred. This role requires basic computer proficiencies, multi-task effectively, sharp attention to detail, a desire to work in a collaborative team atmosphere, and the ability to perform duties with minimal direction.
