Responsibilities & Opportunities
Sika is looking for experienced Machine Operator to join it’s growing team in Gastonia, NC.
This position will assist the shift supervisor in coordinating the work of production employees involved in production activities. Requires knowledge of manufacturing processes and product. Operates manufacturing line. Requires the ability to vary prescribed operating conditions as necessary to produce quality parts. Changes and adjust operating conditions to maintain proper quality.
Other Duties include:
- To operate one or more of the following: the mixing system; calendar; press; hot melt; embosser 1, 2, and 3; anti-sticking agent unit; adhesive unit 1 and 2; U.V. unit; magnetizing unit
- To start up the hot oil heater and water chillers
- Perform quality testing; make corrections for out-of-spec conditions
- Ensure production scheduled to adhered to
- Assist in training new production employees
- Perform some maintenance on the press and report any needed repairs on the machines
- Assist in labeling and packing parts
Preferred Skills:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 months-1 year related manufacturing experience
- Knowledge of metric system, computer literate, able to operate a forklift, and able to read and write

Responsible for safe equipment operation, quality production of product, and meeting production goals. The essence of the role is to operate machinery, set-up machine, and trouble-shoot machine.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of machines
- Responsible for loading and unloading material to be set to measurements given by software systems or blueprints
- Accurately read calibrated measurement instruments (caliper, tape measures, etc.) and manually program parts to be cut.
- Take steps to reduce and eliminate quality, 5S, and maintenance and efficiency issues
- Rotate and cross-train into all production operations.
- Clean and deburring parts, label and coordinate cut parts for the next customer in a professional manner
- Perform minor technical repairs or adjustments on machines
- Organize and prioritize their workload based on business needs
- Take all needed precautions to maintain all safety requirements
