Job Description

A Machine Operator is responsible for leading machine set-ups and changeovers, troubleshooting and adjusting machines, and inspecting and packaging finished products according to customer specifications. The role also involves operating various coating, finishing, and powered industrial vehicles to move products.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential functions may include, but are not limited to: 

  • Perform routine set-up and changeover of machines, making adjustments as needed to process operations accordingly.
  • Run orders per product specifications and standard practices. This may include sorting, labeling, and packaging products per customer specifications, quality requirements, and standard practices
  • Perform tests and check products routinely for multiple characteristics using standard measuring tools, tape measures, etc. 
  • Understand and implement quality standards and procedures
  • Meet production schedules and program production sequences for optimal productivity. 
  • Follow standard operating procedures and specifications or instructions of higher-level technical personnel and monitor meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications.
  • Maintain production records and logs of equipment and product performance.
  • Maintain the work area with necessary supplies to complete processes
  • Operate heavy equipment to move, load, and ship material and/or finished products throughout the manufacturing environment. 
  • Support inventory accuracy by completing cycle counts and correcting discrepancies to achieve business goals. 
  • Assist and support other team members in meeting department and site goals. Participate and share in performing all tasks necessary to run the facility.  
  • Contribute and participate in team decision-making processes, including problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts. Provide support in project work and other special requests.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing work experience
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions
  • Must prioritize safety in every aspect of the working environment, adhering to established safety practices, policies, and procedures

As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating all Special Operations machinery and selected Open End Die Cut machines. Position Overview:
+ Remove product from the end of the printing press or finishing machine.
+ Work with loose and/or completed product by stacking onto pallets, transferring to tables & placing into a collator hopper or into mail bags.
+ Move product/skids with a hand jack, motorized Raymond (Big Joe) lift or Forklift (training provided).
+ Comply with all quality, safety and work rules and regulations.
+ Effectively communicate with team members.
+ Assist other crew members with various duties including webbing up of the press and/or special handwork in order to meet customer requests.
+ Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures.
Qualifications

+ Must be at least 18-years of age or older.
+ Printing, factory, or other mechanical work experience a plus
+ Strong mechanical aptitude.
+ Ability to write and read measurements.
+ Ability to read, understand and follow both written and verbal instructions.
+ The ability to use a computer/manipulate touch screens.
+ The ability to use repetitive hand/wrist movement.
+ Ability to lift stacks of end boards or banding strap rolls (~30 -60lbs) as needed.
+ The ability to take stacks of loose signatures or bundles ranging (5-30 lbs.) off a pallet or conveyor up to 48" in height and transfer to tabletop work surface 42", and then place into a collator hopper or mail bags that potentially weigh from 5-75 lbs.
+ Ability to multi-task and prioritize job need.
+ Ability to be a team player in a fast paced, detail orientated production environment.
+ Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
+ 12 hour rotating shifts (either 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. or 7 p.m. - 7 a.m.) including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, working 3 - 4 days a week.

We’re looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our production team. Under the direction of the Shop Foreman, you’ll operate metal fabrication equipment to produce parts and assemblies according to drawings and specifications. Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Years of Relevant Work Experience: 1 to 3 years’ experience operating metal fabrication machinery
  • Certificates/Licenses: Driver’s License. Forklift and Overhead Crane Certification preferred.
  • Physical Job Requirements: Move throughout the shop with the ability to carry up to 75lbs.

Key Activities

  • Read blueprints, follow work orders, and determine set-up and production needs.
  • Measure and inspect parts to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Operate fabrication machinery.
  • Load and unload materials and maintain accurate production records.
  • Perform routine maintenance to keep equipment in optimal condition.

We are currently hiring a Machine Operator for our client, a leading Midwest manufacturer of custom case goods, furniture and components for customers in the hospitality, retail, senior living and medical fields. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining equipment to support and manage flat panel machinery for 32mm panel production. If you have experience with production machinery and a sharp eye for quality, this is the role for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate and monitor flat panel machinery for 32mm panel production
  • Ensure machine settings are calibrated according to production specifications
  • Inspect raw materials and finished panels for quality and consistency
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment
  • Record production data and report any deviations or issues
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals
  • Identify and report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards promptly

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Related experience preferred: Manufacturing, Carpentry, Maintenance
  • Familiarity with 32mm system standards in cabinetry or furniture manufacturing
