Summary: Set up and operate numerical control program machines to fabricate parts by performing the following duties. Lead, develop, train programmer(s) and operators.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Mentor and supervise programmers.
- Conduct training sessions for programmers and operators.
- Stay updated on industry advancements to enhance the team's capabilities.
- Ensure timely programming and set up for all new machine controls.
- Collaborate closely with engineers and department supervisors to streamline processes.
- Analyze drawings, sketches, and design data of part to determine dimension and configuration of cuts.
- Determine reference points and direction of machine cutting paths.
- Compute angular and linear dimensions, radii, and curvatures. Outlines sequence of operations required to machine part.
- Prepare geometric layout on graph paper or using computer-assisted drafting software to show location of reference points and direction of cutting paths.
- Ability to write instruction sheets and cutter lists to guide setup and operation of machine.
- Ability to write programs of machine instructions in symbolic language to encode numerical control tape or direct numerical control database to regulate movement of machine along cutting path.
- Compare encoded tape or computer printout with original program sheet to assure accuracy of machine instructions.
- Revise program to eliminate instruction errors or omissions.
- Observe operation of machine on trial run to prove taped or programmed instructions.

- Provide day-to-day project leadership, coordinating across multiple departments
- Identify potential risks early and implement effective mitigation strategies
- Create and maintain detailed project reports to keep both internal leadership and customers informed
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience working within the machining or manufacturing industry
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence in customer-facing interactions
- Background in Automotive, Aerospace, Space, Gas Turbine, Defense, or similar high-precision industries is highly desirable

**Where is the work:**
Onsite: This position has been designated as On-Site.
**What you will do:**
+ Design and develop processes for factory transformation projects and equipment implementation.
+ Improve productivity, quality, equipment performance, energy consumption, and downtime reduction.
+ Provide technical/subject matter expertise and guidance for the resolution of manufacturing process and product design problems.
+ Serve as a resource for cause/effect investigations, statistical studies, and corrective action planning. Design manufacturing flow lines, workstation layouts, and station controls that optimize efficiency, operating costs, and product quality.
+ Uphold manufacturing standards including: machine capability, process maps, set-ups, quality controls, tooling and fixture records, routings and cycle times.
+ Generate work instructions, job breakdowns, and standardized work to ensure quality at the source meets product and manufacturing specifications given local needs.
+ Partner with on-site EHS to ensure all equipment meets safety regulations compliant with OSHA.
+ Knowledge of CNC programming for milling (experience with Fanuc programming is preferred) to quickly troubleshoot and resolve programming issues.
+ Knowledge on how to determine optimal speed (rpm) and feed rate for a variety of endmills, face mills, drilling, and rigid tapping.
+ Experience in setting up and operating probes use with CNC machining programs and how to operate a large horizontal machining center.

**What you will bring:**
+ 5+ years Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
+ Project Management, Process Automation and AutoCAD or similar design software experience
+ Aptitude for mechanical/electrical application as related to equipment/processes.
+ Communication skills to articulate voice of the customer.
+ Ability to coach, advise and develop teammates and peers.
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred.

**Compensation:**
Base Pay Range: $74,000 - $125,000
