**Job Summary:**
Specific positions would require applicants to: setup and operate a variety of machines to cut various materials to specified shapes and sizes, fabricate/form a variety of aircraft components into aircraft parts.
**Job Responsibilities:**
-Sets up and operates a computer numerical control (CNC) machines router to cut a variety of materials (router) or fabricate parts from extrusions (extrusion). Works from oral and written instructions, sets-up sheets and N/C disk readouts.
-Reviews set-up sheet, secures material stock to machine bed, and mounts specified router and drill bits.
-Installs machine control disk in reader of control console. Observes machine operations for proper functioning. May override disk control feed and speed using manual data input to prevent broken tools and damaged material.
-May require editing of CNC programs as necessary.
-Requires contact with Manufacturing Engineering or Experimental to coordinate machine operations.
-Utilizes a variety of hand tools to complete the work including wrenches, hammers, and precision measuring instruments such as scale, protractors, calipers, and micrometers.
-May also require finishing parts by sanding, hand routing or burring.May require the use of moving equipment to stage work and to perform other functions of this job. Moving equipment is defined as, but not limited to, forklift, crane or tug, etc.
-Responsible only for own work and performs other related duties as required.
**Qualifications**
**Education:**
Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification.
**Experience:**

**Job Title: CNC Machinist**
**Job Description**
Join our team as a CNC Machinist, where you will operate manual and CNC machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, boring machines, and grinders, to machine plastic or metal work pieces. You will work to exacting tolerances, determine speeds and feeds to produce quality products, and ensure precision in every task. Your ability to visualize the finished product and recognize blueprint errors will be crucial to our success. Additionally, you may serve as the final inspector for finished manufactured products.
**Responsibilities**
+ Read and interpret blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and specifications for parts.
+ Perform machine set-ups to obtain close tolerances, fitting, and alignment of machined parts.
+ Obtain required inspections on first pieces of a run according to prescribed procedures and perform inspections on work-in-progress using a variety of measuring devices.
+ Select the appropriate cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials to be used on machines.
+ Acquire raw materials, supplies, tools, etc., when necessary.
+ Inspect machinery for any needed repairs; perform minor repairs within expertise.
+ Examine and measure completed units and parts to identify any defects and ensure units conform with predetermined specifications; adjust machine controls to resolve production errors.
+ Utilize Geometric Dimension & Tolerance as called out on print.
+ Operate fabrication machinery to produce parts used in manufacturing processes.
**Essential Skills**
