**Job Description**
**Position Summary:**
Set up and operate machines to produce high quality fasteners while meeting on-time delivery, productivity, safety, quality, and housekeeping metrics. Usual manufacturing environment and moderate physical activity.
**Essential Functions:**
1. Set up, adjust, and operate high speed & low speed machines
2. Set up, adjust, and operate auxiliary equipment to perform operations on a
machine or multiple of machines and equipment with close dimensions,
shape, and contour
3. Align and secure dies, locate stops, adjust forming speeds, part forming
rolls or dies, safety devices, etc.
4. Install tools and other tooling needed and adjust as needed
5. Work from drawings, manufacturing instructions and control plans.
6. Use a variety of precision measuring instruments.
7. May operate multiple machines or machines capable of performing
multiple operations.
8. Load raw materials to feeder mechanisms, clear jams, or other
malfunctions.
9. Train/learn how to set-up/operate equipment.
10. Safety, Responsible for working safely. Recommend changes to processes
and equipment to improve safety/efficiency. (Safety program initiative)
11. Productivity. (Metric boards-analyze, communicate pcs/hr, changes and
improvements)
12. Position should work with minimal supervision.
13. Other duties/projects as assigned.
**Qualifications**
**Required Skill, Education and Experience**
- Basic reading/writing/math skills
- Mechanical ability and knowledge of tools and machinery
- Ability to focus and prioritize task and objectives.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to lift/pull up to forty (40) pounds.
**Compensation Information:**

We are seeking a dedicated Machine Operator to efficiently manage and operate Special Operations machinery and select Open End Die Cut machines. You will ensure accurate labeling, printing, and packaging throughout the production process and assist in removing paper jams and performing preventative maintenance.
**Responsibilities**
+ Operate all Special Operations machinery and select Open End Die Cut machines.
+ Examine work orders to determine specifications and verify samples.
+ Inspect product quality according to established guidelines.
+ Maintain accurate counts of envelopes to boxes, cartons, and skids.
+ Pack envelopes uniformly and neatly while keeping up with machine speed.
+ Place die cut paper stacks onto the feed of the machine.
+ Check orders throughout production to ensure accurate labeling, printing, and packaging.
+ Assist in removing paper jams and perform scheduled preventative maintenance.
+ Complete appropriate paperwork to record labor, time, and quantity.
+ Perform machine wash-ups and other cleaning duties.
**Essential Skills**
+ 1+ years of recent machine operating experience, preferably in the paper or plastics industry.
+ Ability to multi-task as a machine operator, including reading customer orders and performing documentation tasks.
+ 1+ years of recent experience with math, conversions, and tape measure use.
+ Experience performing quality checks.
+ Experience with unjamming and basic troubleshooting.
