- Planning and laying out of work

What will you be responsible/accountable for in this role?
Machine Set-Up/Operator-CNC Swiss Screw Machines (Citizens). Requires set-up and operation of more than one multi-axis machine. Will produce high quality components to customer's specification.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Makes offset changes, tooling changes, and adjustments during production runs to ensure quality requirements are met.
Responsible for machining process development including, CNC programs, tool/setup sheets and operations development
Performs in-process inspection
Verifies documentation and accuracy of completed operations
Accountable for meeting cycle time and yield expectations
Performs general maintenance and troubleshooting during CNC machine operation.
Runs one or more machines simultaneously based on production needs

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
High School diploma or equivalent
Demonstrated experience as a CNC Machinist
Prior experience operating CNC Swiss-style equipment. Citizen or Nexturn preferred.
Skilled in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure using whole numbers and decimals as well as ability to use a calculator with trig functions.
Must be able to read and interpret a detailed blueprint with multiple tolerances and smaller dimensions, and use measuring equipment independently, as well as execute the components of a setup sheet.
Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM
Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
Familiar with tool holders w, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts, and other accessories used.
Proficient with precision measuring instruments, including calipers, ID&OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators and dial bores
Ability to make independent judgments which have moderate impacts on the organization

Measures, marks and scribes dimensions and reference points on materials or work-piece as guides for subsequent machining.
Selects, aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machines, such as mills, lathes or others.
Calculates and programs controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow and depth and angle of cut or enters commands to retrieve, edit or input computerized machine control media.
Analyze and resolve any set-up non-conformance.
Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications using precision measuring instruments and record data on in-process reports if required.
Sets up and operates machine on a trial run to verify accuracy of machine set-up or programmed control data.
Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly and verifies conformance if required.
May confer with engineers, production personnel, programmers or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
Debug support as required.
May assist toolmaker/machine builder in assembly of larger projects.
May train employees if required.
May have secondary position on a “team” such as safety or ISO auditing.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification preferred.
- Proven experience as a Toolmaker, Machine Builder or Precision Machinist.
- Strong knowledge of machining processes and tool design principles.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical documents.

+ Read and interpret detailed part and tool drawings. Set up and operate a variety of NC/CNC machines, including multi-axis machines, HBM, VTL, lathe, grinding, and hone machine tools with related tools, computers and attachments, etc. utilizing all types and sizes of fixtures, attachments, gauges, precision measuring equipment, machinist's tools, etc.
