Essential Functions

· Set up and operate both simple and more complex industrial machines to maintain proper throughput rates while keeping work area clean throughout shift.

Machine Operator Duties:

  • Operate various equipment including Haven tube cutting machine, bundle saw, punch press and Innovo notch machine. Must be able to assure material is cut to length, punched or notched according to customer specifications.
  • Perform quality inspections of all material upon arrival and during the handling process.
  • Utilize tape measure, digital length gauge and computer system to ensure parts are produced to customer specification.
  • Ensure your safety and that of your co-workers by following all safety procedures and wearing all required PPE while working with associated equipment and material.

Requirements:

  • Experience in Haven tube cutting required.
  • Experience with punch press, Innovo notch, forklift driving, shipping and receiving and overhead cranes is helpful.
  • Must be able to work 8 to10 hour shifts, 4 to 6 days per week depending on demand
  • Ability to stand, bend, climb, squat and kneel continuously.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. frequently.
  • Must be able to wear all required PPE at all times while performing.

A Brief Overview

Under the supervision of a Production Supervisor, will perform any and all of the following duties, auto packer, capper, snorkeler, labeler, shrink bundler, unit cartoner, carton erector, depalletizer, button tipper, all other machines as required by the manufacturing process and make adjustments on them, assist in changeovers and perform necessary adjustments, and cleaning operations. The Operator is responsible for preparation, set-up, start and running manufacturing equipment under the guidance of the Production Shift Leader. Accountabilities also include ensuring that jobs meet quality specifications, manufacturing standards and that safety procedures are followed while working to continuously improve quality and productivity of manufacturing operations.

Essential Accountabilities


Machine operation

  1. Set-up, operate and troubleshoot equipment to produce thermoformed parts to specification.
  2. Ensure maximum efficiency of set-up to include set-up time, materials, production rate and material consumption.
  3. Machine readiness - inspect machinery, equipment and tooling prior to set-up.
  4. Identify issues, which adversely affect product requirements and communicate with appropriate department personnel for resolution.
  5. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning.
  6. Identify nonconforming materials/products and work with shift leader for resolution.

Quality

  1. Ensure part quality meets established standards.
  2. Perform housekeeping duties.
  3. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.

Communication

  1. Complete all shift documentation/paperwork.
  2. Shift hand-off - go over job status and updates with incoming shift.

Safety

Salary: $12.75/hr

The primary job duties of our General Laborers include packaging the meat, labeling items, palletizing shipments, and retrieving frozen products. Well provide the training, you show up ready to work! If youre interested, please apply today! Jobs start immediately.


Job duties:

  • Complete physical labor as needed in a cold (32), wet manufacturing environment
  • Follow all appropriate Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Complete all assigned tasks and shifts as assigned according to production requirements, including but not limited to moving fresh pork through the production floor
  • Follow all safety guidelines and wear all required safety gear ensuring a safe work environment for you and your co-workers.
  • Continuous training in Safe Quality Food (SQF) and all additional training as required.
  • Fulfill other duties and assignments as assigned by managers.


To qualify for this job you must have:

  • Flexibility with work hours, in general
  • Have strong attention to detail
  • Understand and follow verbal and written instruction in Spanish or in English
  • Punctual with great attendance
  • Ability to satisfy physical requirements (see below)

Physical requirements and work environment:

  • The work environment will include cold temperatures between50 to 10(non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals. Villari Foods will provide cold-weather gear to you.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud. Ear protection is required and provided.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Able to speak and hear for safety and productivity
  • Use scanners, tablets, radios, phones, and other warehouse machinery
  • Frequently required to stand, use hands and/or fingers to grasp, handle, feel, reach, and pull
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
