The Supplier Quality Engineer will identify, analyze, and resolve quality issues using statistical methods and root cause problem-solving techniques. The role involves implementing and maintaining process improvement initiatives and establishing targets to achieve quality objectives. Additionally, the engineer will lead the resolution of customer complaints or field failures by obtaining warranty data and developing solutions to prevent recurrence.
Responsibilities

Support special projects with quality engineering expertise.

Essential Skills
-
Experience in statistical engineering, lean manufacturing, quality control, and assurance.

3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing/quality environment leading cross-functional teams.

Formal training in quality planning, tools, and analysis.
-
Proficiency in computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, and statistical tools.

Ability to set and attain goals and initiate action for product and process improvement.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing).

High analytical ability for solving unusual and difficult problems.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Knowledge of quality and reliability standards, policies, and procedures.

Technical and professional skills in job-related areas.
-
Effective interpersonal styles and communication methods for collaboration with business partners.

Knowledge of product engineering and manufacturing processes.

Aggressive self-starter with the ability to work independently.
Work Environment
The work environment is fast-paced and hands-on, typical of the manufacturing and automotive sectors. The role may be stressful at times, requiring a high sense of urgency. The team consists of 10-15 Engineers, divided into Customer Quality Engineers and Supplier Quality Engineers. The dress code is business casual, including slacks and good shoes, but steel toes are not required. The position operates primarily during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, but may require availability on nights or weekends as issues arise.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.

Overall Scope:
Advanced Design Engineer will be assigned to Project Teams with varying scopes of work, from new concepts to reverse engineering, cost and quality improvements of existing products. The products designed will vary and cover the entire spectrum of the company portfolio.
The Advanced Design Engineer may, at times, be assigned the management of a project.
Responsibilities :
• Design or modify components and systems using prudent engineering methods and techniques to meet specified technical requirements.
• Perform design activities within cost targets and timeline objectives.
• Analyze and solve complex product design, application, manufacturing, installation, and service problems.
• Develop and execute experiments to validate and qualify new design solutions.
• Direct other technical support personnel to carry out specific design tasks.
• Analyze competitive product designs and report findings.
• Communicates directly with Customers and Suppliers on issues of technical specifications, product design and product performance as needed.
• Implement defect prevention procedures or processes in product design or application.
• Analyze new technologies for potential application in next generation products.
• Support quality improvements in all facets of the company's business.
• Collaborate with various teams within the organization to solve technical problems and identify improvement opportunities.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Minimum of 5 year experience in an engineering role required.
• Knowledge of Creo-Pro/Engineer and/or Solidworks, Microsoft software
• Good analytical skills required • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to work with team members and work with minimal supervision
• Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time, which may include flying.
Preferences :
Degree in Mechatronics, Experience with New Product Development in an Automotive environment. Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis.
