This is a Systems Administration Technician position that assists in the support of the mainframe Enterprise Server environment for the State of Missouri, which is based on the IBM z/OS operating system. This position will also assist in the administration and support of various mainframe system and third-party software products with an emphasis in z/OS and TCP/IP networking support.
A successful candidate in this position needs to have a technical background in IT, good communication skills, and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues. Any candidate must also be able to work effectively in a team setting, as well as independently when the circumstances dictate it.

Responsibilities - What you'll do
- Troubleshooting and Problem Solving.
- Interact with software vendors to diagnose issues by collecting problem information, dumps, traces, etc.
- Schedule and implement changes/updates requested by Customers via change management system.
- Communicate complex work and issues that arise with Customers and with technical teams.
- Manage the mainframe TCP/IP network for stability, complete resource definition requests (terminals, printers, etc.) and diagnose connectivity errors.
- Help support the z/OS mainframe operating system by definition changes, monitoring resources and help with maintenance updates.
- Special projects, presentations, training, reports, and other duties as assigned.
- Ability to learn new technological skills, to interpret and apply standards, policies, procedures, and understand technical documentation.
- Ability to work with a team to develop and implement procedures and best practices.
- Ability to think critically and provide recommended solutions to issues.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments.
- Experience/Knowledge in mainframe application or system support is desired but not required.
- Experience/Knowledge in Windows Server environment is desired but not required.
- Experience/Knowledge in the fundamentals of computer programming logic is desired but not required.
- Experience working with and knowledge of applications such as but not limited to: TN3270 emulation, TSO, JCL, TCP/IP, REXX, Microsoft Office, WebEx and SharePoint.

We are seeking a seasoned Mainframe Systems Programmer to support and optimize our IBM z/OS infrastructure, with a strong focus on post-migration support for z/OS 3.1 and z/OSMF version 15 . The ideal candidate will have recent experience upgrading and stabilizing environments following a major system version change. Maintain SMP/E environments and perform ongoing RSU maintenance, patching, and software installs. 7+ years as a Mainframe Systems Programmer, with strong expertise in IBM z/OS. Direct experience with z/OS 3.1 , including support for post-migration environments. What does a successful Mainframe Systems Architect (CICS) do at Fiserv?
The primary purpose of the Mainframe Systems Architect (CICS) is to provide senior-level CICS/TS technical support (installation, implementation, administration, and maintenance) for all Fiserv IBM mainframe-based CICS/TS solutions supporting the CPS, FRMS, EPAY and Optis platform in the US as well as Issuing, Acquiring, and Payments clients primarily in Argentina. This support includes working and supporting internal and external clients using IBM's CICS/TS solutions.
What you will do:

Responsible for the installation, implementation, performance, testing and integrity of a large IBM CICS/TS implementation.

Work with Development, Operations, and other technical teams on new and existing CICS/TS project implementations while maintaining CICS/TS system options for optimum performance and availability.

Assist with the development and maintenance of CICS/TS standards and roadmaps.
-
Work with internal and external clients in implementing CICS/TS solutions, while providing global on-call support.

Providing dump analysis and problem determination of root causes related to system problems and outages including storage violations.
-
Working with computer operations to quickly resolve incidents and automate operational processes such as IPLs, Cold Starts, and dump processing.

Ensuring High Availability and performance objectives as required by customers and management for operating systems and for software components.

Configuration and administration of CICS Webservices or CICS Liberty Profile JVMs including URIMAPs and pipes, as well as CICSPlex and CICS Explorer.
What you will need to have:

13+ years of experience supporting CICS/TS in large IBM z/OS Mainframe environment.

10+ years of experience with mainframe software installation, maintenance and support (IBM Assembler, COBOL, and REXX).

Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, military, and work experience.
What would be great to have:

Experience with z/OS Connect Enterprise Edition or IBM MQ is desirable.

Experience with mainframe software installation, maintenance, and support.

Working knowledge of IBM Assembler and CICS/TS coding highly desirable.
