Position Summary :
The Maintenance & Engineering Manager is a key member of the plant leadership team who is a technical leader responsible for overall maintenance, repair and/or replacement of plant manufacturing equipment and the overall facility itself. Provides hands-on leadership and supervision to the Maintenance team in the assignment, direction and coordination of work to ensure safety, quality and maximum production efficiency.
Responsibilities :
- Leads safety through personal example actively engaging with site team.
- Leads safety programs, including programs such as Lock Out/Tag Out, Electrical Safety, Machine Guarding, and Hazardous Chemical controls.
- Overall maintenance, repair and replacement of manufacturing equipment for the facility.
- Build a cross functional team of electrical and mechanical associates to consistently improve and exceed performance targets.
- Engages employees in problem solving to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
- Develop and manage team members for performance and personal development.
- Prepare and lead capital and continuous improvement projects.
- Lead, develop and implement improvement plans.
- Ensures plant has a robust corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance program. Responsible for capturing status of PM’s and requested maintenance.
- Review Key Performance Indicators KPIs (Daily, Weekly and Monthly) to make recommendations for improving plant operations and maintenance issues.
- Track, analyze and improve department KPIs in the areas of efficiency, downtime reduction, overall maintenance cost and preventative maintenance compliance.
- Work with the Plant Manager, Engineering and the Site Team to evaluate and improve manufacturing processes by finding alternate machines and processes in addition to supporting new product and new equipment development.
- Understand and ensure compliance with all permit and regulatory agency requirements.
- Select and manage on-site contractors for safety compliance and overall effectiveness.
- Maintain adequate facility spares

Requirements:
Job Requirements
- Bachelor or Associate degree in Engineering or Industrial Maintenance or over 10 years’ experience directly managing cross functional maintenance teams
- Possess over 6 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering and maintenance roles including directly managing teams of people
- Exceptional leadership and proven team building skills
- CMMS experience
- Able to work well and collaboratively with peers
- Excellent analytical thinking and innovative problem-solving skills
- Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with all Microsoft Office products

General Summary
The Director of Plant Maintenance & Engineering plans and coordinates all equipment and facilities repairs and maintenance. The Director is responsible for supervising maintenance functions, which are necessary to maintain continuous production operations to ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently.
Essential Functions:
- Has overall responsibility for facilities and assets through their lifecycle, including installation, integration, implementation, and maintenance.
- Manage resources, including expense priorities, expense budgeting, facilities, asset management, and spare parts.
- Working with the Director of Project Management, develop long-term capital planning and execution plans aligned to the organization's strategy.
- Drive culture, engage staff morale, and ensure employees' safety.
- Direct team members and develop robust talent development and succession planning in alignment with functional growth strategies across the engineering organization
- Define and implement core competencies by assessing business needs and developing, proposing, and implementing solutions.
- Ensure the facility and equipment are properly maintained and comply with all OSHA regulations and Food Safety requirements established by BRC, GFSI, and AIB Standards
- Partner with cross-functional groups/resources to achieve tactical execution plans of business objectives to ensure operational excellence, risk identification, and reduction in compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards
- Negotiate and oversee the development and execution of plans, budgets, and schedules for all facility and equipment modifications, expansions, shutdowns, infrastructure programs, lifecycle management, capacity, and upgrades in partnership with cross-functional teams. Anticipate business needs from an infrastructure standpoint and propose strategies to address them.

- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a managerial role, with the oversight of a team of Maintenance managers and technicians.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and developing high-performing engineering and maintenance teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Prefer a food manufacturing or bakery environment.
- Demonstrated ability to foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Expertise in preventive maintenance programs, reliability engineering, and root cause problem-solving to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
- Hands-on approach to leadership , with the ability to support, coach, and empower team members on the production floor.

**POSITION PURPOSE**
Responsible for leading, developing and directing a technical team to provide engineering support implementation of maintenance/reliability strategies and goals to maintain the mechanical integrity of plant process equipment. Directs activities to minimize equipment failures through equipment design changes, reliability improvements, preventive/predictive maintenance programs and inspection strategies to achieve safe and reliable operation of Synfuels plant equipment. Manages, reviews and approves mechanical integrity programs and advises changes to engineering processes and documentation to maintain regulatory compliance requirements.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES**
+ Develop, direct, implement, and maintain an effective preventative/predictive maintenance program which includes periodic checks and inspections of plant process equipment.
+ Advise and review of plant engineering specifications, calculations, designs, and repairs to ensure design control with plant procedures and regulatory requirements.
+ Work with operations and maintenance on the development of equipment maintenance and operating strategies while providing technical input to ensure consistency of procedures.
+ Develop and maintain an effective corrosion monitoring program for piping and fixed equipment.
+ Provide technical guidance in the proper maintenance and operation of plant equipment.
+ Lead the mechanical integrity portion of the process safety management program.
+ Responsible for ensuring that equipment fabrications, modifications, and repairs meet respective code and jurisdictional requirements.
+ Coordinate activities with planning and maintenance to ensure the proper preventive maintenance practices and frequencies are documented and implemented to reduce maintenance costs.
+ Responsible for establishing inspection plans/programs for process equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation.
+ Develop KPIs and metrics for specific assets and site-wide predictive maintenance programs.
+ Oversee maintaining of asset specification data in Fusion, Asset Suite, and APM, including inspection reports, reference documents, and critical spare parts.
+ Design programs/workflows and provide training to improve maintenance effectiveness. Collaborate with leadership and foster continuous improvement efforts toward improving workmanship quality and minimizing rework.
+ Maintain contacts with Engineering contractors, Basin Electric support staff, and other entities to support the plant in a safe and efficient manner.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Thorough understanding of engineering and inspection codes and standards, corrosion control concepts, material selection, equipment applications and performance, predictive and preventive maintenance techniques, and inspection methodology acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree from an Engineering Accreditation Commission/Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (EAC/ABET) accredited engineering program; and 6 years of related experience in the petrochemical or chemical industry.
+ Prior experience acting as a lead or previous supervisory experience.
+ Occasional travel.
+ A valid driver's license.
**PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS**
Requires frequent sitting, standing, reaching below shoulder level and use of keyboard/computer; occasional walking, stooping/bending, climbing stairs and ladders, kneeling, lifting up to 25 pounds, reaching above shoulder level, crawling, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds, use of tools and foot controls. Requires finger dexterity, good color vision and hearing, and the ability to speak. Most job activities are performed indoors. Job Summary
The Director of Engineering and Maintenance is responsible for providing the technical expertise and technical leadership to deliver results for the Everett, WA plant and the Engineering function across the company. The leader is responsible for and provides direction and accountability for the leaders and functions of maintenance, projects (capital and expense), MRO, facilities, and utilities functions. This person will provide critical leadership for major capital projects and maintenance excellence and ensure plant safety, operations, quality, and support members who have solutions needed to drive safety, quality, and performance plans. Key indicators include safety incidents, quality non-conformance, yield, and machine uptime, as well as labor cost/lb. and maintenance cost/lb.
Key Responsibilities
- Development of site strategic plan for technical staffing, capital investment, general competencies, and system/technology improvements.
- Coaching, mentoring, and development of plant technical resources.
- Develop and maintain cross-functional relationships with staff peers to meet the needs of the business.
- Accountability for management of external technical relationships with A/E firms, contractors, suppliers, and equipment vendors.
- Provide technical leadership and site compliance with USDA, FDA, EPA and OSHA requirements in concert with designated functional experts.
- Provide input and leadership to achieve optimization of assets as well as lead safety initiatives in technical areas.
- Champion or support design, improvements, and systems to support safety excellence.
- Develop and hold appropriate team members accountable for budgets for Maintenance, Support, ancillary functions, and capital projects to meet the needs of the business (operational, strategic, and business).
- Provide overviews and updates to the Leadership team on projects and maintenance excellence growth.
- Manage performance of all team members, model and support Kettles core values and safety culture, build collaborative teams, develop employees, and drive focus on quality and continuous improvement.
Maintenance & Reliability
- Coach and develop Maintenance and Facilities Manager to reduce and eliminate downtime and losses.
- Provide strategy and support for maintenance programs, development of tools and resources, personnel selection, training, and development.
- Ensure the proper selection, training, development, and motivation of leaders to maximize current and future performance.
- Lead and support plant continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute as an integral part of a senior plant leadership team to drive the plant strategy and culture.
- Provide engineering professional and technical support for Kettle Cuisine.
- Responsible for engineering, maintenance, facilities, grounds, continuous improvement support and capital project management.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the Kettle Cuisine Leadership team.
- Facilitate teams and projects in their mission to drive equipment reliability.
- Oversee preparation of equipment specifications, layouts, and direct the installation of capital equipment.
- Develop and manage the Capital Expenditure Plan for Kettle Cuisine. Interface with Department Managers to drive improvements in the operation of key production equipment.
- Identify and execute continuous improvement projects that deliver significant annual savings in direct labor, energy, and material waste.
- Provide leadership, mentoring and employee development opportunities to direct reports. Capital Planning & Execution.
- Develop short- term and long-range capital investment plans for the facility and be accountable for the planning and execution of all projects.
- Responsible for the capital investment process for the site (e.g. develop and uphold technical standards, project leadership and management, capital approval oversight, ROI, CQV, etc.).

- Develop and support strategies that integrate Vertical Start Up (VSU), CQV, Continuous Improvement and Zero Loss Culture methodologies into the Master Plan

- Accountable for the strategy, design and implementation of control systems and manufacturing information systems. Work with IT leadership in these integrated efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, or electrical engineering or similar field required. Masters degree in business administration or engineering is highly desirable.
- Requires seven to ten years of experience; to include at least five years of experience in increasingly complex industrial supervisory positions utilizing a combination of technical, managerial, and financial expertise.
- Knowledge in facilities to include wastewater, energy use, boilers, and HVAC systems.
- Strong knowledge of food manufacturing including Health and Safety, OSHA, UDSA, FDA and EPA regulations relative to plant operation and maintenance.
- Ability to develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders working within a diverse community.

We are looking for motivated, customer-focused people who want to join our team as a Reliability Maintenance Engineering Area Manager. The Reliability Maintenance Engineering Area Manager is the line manager for a team of engineering technicians. They maintain the focus on safety by training, developing and coaching their team. Basic Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· Significant practical engineering experience including a supervisory role managing people.
· A Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
· Multi skilled in both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
· Experience of automated equipment including packaging machinery, sortation and conveyor systems.
· Ability to communicate (written & verbal) in English and the local language at CEFR Level B2 or higher.
