We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Helper to support our production team by ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our equipment. The successful candidate will assist in both emergency repairs and routine maintenance, contributing to the smooth operation of our facility.
**Responsibilities**
+ Provide support for emergency or unplanned repairs of production equipment and auxiliary systems.
+ Troubleshoot basic to complex mechanical and electrical issues, identifying root causes and recommending solutions to improve reliability.
+ Perform Preventative Maintenance on production and support equipment, making recommendations for improvement.
+ Read and interpret equipment manuals and schematic prints (electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical) to perform required maintenance and service.

**Essential Functions:**
+ Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment within the establishment such as hoists motors, pumps, belts, fans, air conditioners, conveyors, etc.

Responsibilities

* Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkler systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers
* Changes filters on HVAC equipment

The maintenance helper position is responsible for safely performing duties to light repair on production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives.

**Daily Duties:**
+ Park and charge production equipment at the start of the shift.
+ Maintain the cleanliness of the battery area.
+ Water all the production equipment batteries.
+ Responsible repairing transportation two-wheel hand dollies.
+ Responsible for supporting the maintenance team with light facility and equipment repairs.
+ Other facility and material upkeep as assigned
**Qualifications/Experience:**
+ Candidates must be willing to learn materials handling equipment (MHE) and facility PM service repairs and have a willingness to be trained.
+ Must be able to get along with co-workers and respond to repair needs throughout the shift.
+ Work with Operations management and other departments in a positive, productive manner.
+ Must be able to work Sunday through Thursday nights
+ Must be able to work overtime, weekends, holidays as needed.
+ Must be able to communicate in English to receive and follow directions, interface with suppliers, and complete required paperwork for maintenance performed.
+ Positive attitude, ability to work under pressure, and good attendance are required.
+ Good organization skills, detail orientated for accuracy.
**Experiences and Knowledge Required:**
High school diploma/GED preferred
Minimum 1-year experience preferred performing preventive maintenance or must be willing to be trained on MHE and PM repairs
Good interpersonal skills to establish and maintain co-worker relationships
Ability to read and follow written instructions in English
Ability to work varied shifts and a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
Demonstrated ability to maintain good attendance and punctuality on the job
**Physical Requirements** :
The physical demands of the job require standing for long periods of time, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and lifting. Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs.
**Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected pay for this role is $1.22 and 26.**
**As applicable, this role will also receive overtime compensation, incentive compensation based on productivity and quality, freezer premium.**
