Position Summary

The Manager, Maintenance Planning is responsible for leading the Maintenance support group. Duties include work record scheduling, shutdown planning, MRO storeroom team supervision, and CMMS team supervision.

Education Requirements

**Job Summary**
The Maintenance Planning Specialist will develop detailed job plans including the labor (type and quantity), materials, tools, and work procedures for repairs, alterations, and preventative maintenance for the facility and all types of equipment. The position is responsible for the shorthand long term scheduling of all maintenance activities. **Essential Duties**

+ Manage and maintain the work flow process (work identifications, planning, scheduling, execution, and auditing).
+ Supervise contractors as necessary.
+ Set-up and maintain any Preventative Maintenance work order established in Maximo.
+ Assists with capital expenditure projects as directed.
+ Requisition parts, confirm materials through pre-arranged kits, and estimate manpower needs for scheduled jobs.
+ Generate purchase requisitions for non-stocked parts and tools to support planned jobs.
+ Responsible for developing cost estimates, tracking spending vs. budget, and performance KPI's for Maintenance.

**Qualifications Required:**

- Review the actual labor expended versus estimated labor and materials used for completed jobs to determine corrective measures needed to improve accuracy in estimating and improving work methods

**Summary**
The role of the Maintenance Planning Scheduler is to improve work force productivity, work quality and cost by analyzing, anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of manpower, parts and material, and equipment access. Reporting to the Salaried Maintenance Manager and maintaining liaison between Production and Maintenance, this position is responsible for the planning, scheduling and coordination of all planned maintenance work performed by its department. This position is also responsible for maintenance of records and files essential to meaningful analysis and reporting of maintenance related matter.
SCHEDULE: Monay through Friday 7:30am-4:30pm
**Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities**
+ The principal contact and liaison person between Maintenance and Production and other supported departments. In this capacity, this position ensures that all internal customers of Maintenance receive timely, efficient and quality service; takes a continuing interest in customer (internal) needs; able to help Production balance their need for daily output with their need of equipment reliability through proactive maintenance.
+ Responsible for long-range as well as short-range planning. Long-range planning involves the regular analysis of backlog relative to available resources. These two basic variables must be kept in balance if a proactive maintenance environment is to be established and sustained.
+ Responsible for leading the group of parts room and maintenance associates in order to ensure all scheduled work is completed as assigned and to follow up with associates about incomplete work and also audit the work completed.
+ Planning and scheduling for shutdowns (major and minor); develops model shutdown plans by standard segments.
+ Develops Planner reference systems including a file of Planned Job Packages for recurring jobs, plus labor and material libraries for each equipment center.
+ Keeps the "senior-level" Maintenance Planner and/or Maintenance Manager properly informed of abnormal or critical situations and seeks advice on matters outside the Planner's knowledge or authority.
+ Makes recommendations for system improvement.
+ Promotes the conservation of energy.
+ Maintains essential records and files from which this position prepares and distributes accurate and meaningful management reports.
+ Interprets and provides historical equipment cost information.
+ Participates in budgetary preparation, tracking, and analysis.
+ Assists the Maintenance Manager and Production Manager in periodic analysis of cost trends with recommendations for continual improvement.
+ Performs other maintenance related tasks and special assignments as requested by the Maintenance Superintendent or Production Manager.
**Minimum Education**
+ Further technical education beyond high school or vocational training preferred
**Experience Requirements**
+ Maintenance Mechanic technical experience and competency knowledge; demonstrated leadership and influential behaviors; and proven oral and written communication skills.
+ Thorough working Knowledge of Maintenance Software such as Maximo, SAP, etc. in order to plan and schedule work and thorough working knowledge of parts room activities and procedures.

**Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements**
+ Work environment includes, but is not limited to, a normal office environment and construction site as well as climate extremes found in a poultry processing operation and a wastewater treatment facility.
+ This position requires an associate to have the ability to move throughout the complex and all facilities.
+ This position requires an associate to be able to be exposed to all chemical found in a poultry processing operation and a wastewater treatment facility.
