JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State's Office of Physical Plant is searching for a full time Maintenance Mechanic, Utilities (Electrical) to join their team. Duties include:
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine repairs in electrical vaults, manholes, and assigned areas on transformers, motors, special automatic controls, switchgear, emergency lighting, motor generators, motor starters, breakers, etc.
- Inspect, clean, lubricate, and perform preventive maintenance on pumps, fans, valves, motors, dampers, actuators, air compressors, air stations, diesel engines, louvers, various pneumatic and electrical controls, filters, relief valves, tanks, etc.
- Observe equipment under operating conditions and make necessary adjustments
- Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on a wide variety of powerhouse equipment such as switchboards, transformers, generators, and pumps; perform periodic inspection on various components of electrical equipment
- Assist with electrical installation, maintenance, and repairs to various types of equipment, machinery, power generation devices, and Utility Services lines
- Test and maintain emergency lighting systems on an assigned schedule; lubricate and adjust emergency motor generators and portable units
- Operate generators to conduct testing and reduce energy consumption during peak usage times
- Maintain logs and records as required
- Operate mobile work tower to maintain street and flood lighting systems; relamp on schedule, or as necessary
- Plan and layout work using schematics and other drawings; accomplish tasks with minimal delay to operations
- Safeguard utility services and facilities; detect unusual conditions or defective materials and report to supervisor
- Maintain the cleanliness and integrity of all electrical locations; ensure covers are in place and secure
- Operate University vehicles as required
Job Requirements: Requires the use of shop mathematics together with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables, various types of adjustable measuring instruments and the training generally applicable in a particular or specialized occupation. Equivalent to 1 to 3 years applied trades training. Class A Pennsylvania Commercial Driver`s License (CDL) required. Over 1 year up to and including 3 years of effective experience.

Job Description
The Maintenance - Utilities Supervisor oversees a maintenance or utilities team responsible for the continuous operations of a Grifols manufacturing facility. The Supervisor may coordinate the installation, maintenance, calibration and repair work in their area of responsibility or provide oversight of a location's utility systems. He/she manages team(s) of technicians, contractors and other staff, perform regular area inspections, maintains troubleshoot equipment, and assigns work to employees. The Maintenance - Utilities Supervisor must have technical skills and knowledge of various crafts within their scope of responsibility. The Supervisor shall be available 24/7 to respond to emergencies and provide directions when required. Ultimately the Maintenance - Utilities Supervisor's primary goal is to ensure that production equipment and/or utilities systems are in good and safe condition at all times and meet the needs of manufacturing operations. Other duties include responsibility for safety, regulatory and/or environmental compliance; ensuring continuous improvement of processes; and using expertise gained through wide exposure in previous assignments and experience to focus on areas for planning, scheduling, organizing, performance management, financial management, administrative skills, QA, regulatory and validation.
We are seeking individuals who have prior experience managing **Integrated Facilities Management (IFM)** teams. Including the demonstrated ability to oversee and coordinate daily activities performed by IFM service providers, ensuring alignment with site maintenance standards, GMP compliance, and safety protocols. Proven success in holding IFM partners accountable to contractual obligations, service level agreements, and key performance indicators. Skilled in fostering collaboration between internal stakeholders and IFM teams to deliver efficient, cost-effective facility operations.
**Primary responsibilities for role (level-specific responsibilities should be included in the chart below):**
+ Prioritize both scheduled and unscheduled work to ensure minimum impact of manufacturing operations while using the most cost effective and compliant methods.
+ Manage and balance technicians' PTO to ensure adequate site coverage as well as on-call scheduling when needed.
+ Review work orders/logbook entries in the computerized maintenance management system to ensure accuracy, clear and concise comments while making any updates or corrections as needed.
+ Provide oversight to ensure standard operating procedures are followed in accordance with safety, regulatory and engineering guidelines.
+ Supervise employees to ensure compliance with OSHA and Environmental & Safety policies and procedures as performed during maintenance or utility operations activities.
+ Conduct safety meetings and area inspections.
+ Support/Contribute/Communicate long and short-term goals and expectations for area of responsibility.
+ Respond to critical issues on a 24/7 basis. For utilities operations this may also include responding to manufacturing areas without 24/7 coverage, and other designated Grifols onsite and offsite locations, etc.
+ Ensure that employees receive proper training, complete qualifications, and possess necessary certifications.
+ Creates positive relationships and engages with staff to inspire them to meet/exceed expectations and goals on a daily basis.
+ Review and approve timecards in the company's timekeeping system and maintain accurate work schedules for employees.
+ Conduct midyear and annual performance evaluations.
+ Contribute and take responsibility for continuous improvement, system improvements and capital projects.
+ Identify and respond to work order trends which impact manufacturing operations.
+ Communicate effectively with various partners to ensure business continuity.
+ Receive raw materials and perform SAP transactions for said materials. (Utilities)
+ Capable of performing some, most, or all Utilities Sr. Operations Specialist duties depending on one's supervisor level. (Utilities)

**Pay Scale**
The estimated pay scale for this Maintenance - Utilities Supervisor I based in San Diego, CA, is $120,621.20 to $135,000 per year. Additionally, the position is eligible to participate in up to 8% of the company bonus pool. Job Summary:
The maintenance Lead position is a developmental role as part of the leadership in the maintenance department. As a lead, responsibilities include work under the mentorship and leadership of the shift maintenance supervisor and maintenance management to learn the necessary skills for successfully leading a team of techs. - Ensure compliance with all legal requirements concerning dairy processing, environmental, safety, and employee working.
- Support SQF by maintaining food safety and food quality through completing of tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner.

Education and Experience:
- GED or High School Diploma with at least 2+ years of supervisory/leadership experience with increased responsibilities

- Prior ASRS Warehousing experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.)
