Job Description
Clean Harbors located in Dolton, IL is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician to add to the team. The Facility Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repairs on equipment throughout the facility. We are searching for a safety-minded individual with mechanical knowledge to learn and grow with our team.
Shift: Monday through Friday, 1st Shift
Pay: $20hr.

Responsibilities

Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;

Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, disassembling, repairing, and reassembling parts as necessary;

Testing mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications;

Basic computer knowledge.

Welding and fabrication of necessary parts to maintain working order;
-
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
-
Plant maintenance experience in one of the following areas: preventative maintenance, installations, basic welding knowledge, basic electrical knowledge.

Ability to work on weekends and overtime;

Ability to pass a mechanical aptitude test;
-
Ability to meet physical demands of the position, including movements such as lifting, bending, reaching, climbing, and the manipulating and handling of objects.

As our Maintenance Repair Tech, you will work closely with the Maintenance Engineer to ensure machines are running at optimal performance. Principal Duties/Responsibilities:
· Performs expert level break-fix & preventative maintenance. This includes but is not limited to: observing devises in operation to locate root cause of problem; dismantling devices to gain access to and remove defective parts; examining parts to detect imperfections; adjustment of functional parts of devices and control instruments; repair and/or replacement of defective parts; testing of device to observe performance; and performing tests for electrical circuitry and mechanical systems; reconditioning and repairing machine tools.

· Independently performs maintenance as per industry standards.
· Works with Planner Scheduler to optimize preventative maintenance procedures.
· May be required to setup and operate multiple machining operations including but not limited to: lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. May perform welding tasks.
· Complies with 5S and housekeeping standards.
· Leads, drives and participates in CI activities--processes, results and cost savings using CI tools and methodology.
· Provides assistance to lower level technicians and leadership to project teams. Performs expert functions as a part of training and development.
· Troubleshoots and analyzes complex control systems to resolve in-depth software/ hardware and configuration problems.
· Utilizes predictive maintenance technologies to collect equipment performance data. Observes trends and makes recommendations.
· Updates records and reviews CMMS history and analyzes data.
· Completes and conducts on-the-job training and technical self-study programs for career development.
· Follows all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions and guidelines. Situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, & Behaviors Required:
· High School Graduate or equivalent (GED).
· Associates degree with a Technical focus and 5 years of related experience in specific industry; or, 7 years of experience in specific industry.
· Experience in predictive technologies, precision alignments, and general maintenance of applicable process equipment.
· Understands electrical, mechanical, fluid power and control systems. Can analyze the problem, synthesize alternative solutions, and perform repairs.
· Must be able to use basic hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate.
· Experience in vibration analysis or laser interferometer operations, precision alignments, and maintenance of applicable process equipment.
· May be required to travel.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Job Description
The Facilities Maintenance Technician - Handyman is responsible for carpentry, drywall, painting, plumbing, minor mechanical and electrical maintenance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and report any unsafe working conditions
- Read, use, and interpret measuring devices, gauges and inspection tools
- Perform all required necessary preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment
- Actively participate on teams and offer suggestions for improvement
- Answer machine alarms as they occur and identify and address the root cause.
- Follow all 5S guidelines
- Perform and document inspections per cGMP for work instruction sheet, on device history sheet records, and work instruction sheet tables
- Follow all Lock Out/Tag Out rules
- Diagnose and troubleshoot any pneumatic, electrical, or mechanical malfunction on a variety of machines
- Experienced in carpentry, drywall, painting, plumbing, minor mechanical and electrical
- Repair and maintain electrical controls on equipment (chillers, air compressors, water pumps and HVAC), including servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines and devices primarily on the basis of electronic principles
- Upload programs to controls in the events of program loss or CPU replacement
- Conduct TPM activities as required
- Input Maintenance work orders into the Computerized Maintenance Management Software (SAP)
- Monitor processes, show an awareness of issues, and demonstrate corrective actions to address those issues
- Perform weekly, monthly, and as required preventive maintenance (PM)
- Perform root cause analysis for safety, quality, and processing issues
- Suggest ways to improve the efficiency and safety of our work and environment Comply with all company policies
- Troubleshoots and locates the source of the problem by observing the operation of the equipment.
- Brainstorms with other maintenance personnel, and outside technical support as needed.
- Restores damaged or malfunctioning equipment to operation by repairing, replacing and or adjusting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Controls down time by scheduling repairs with the Facilities Manager.
- Maintains good communications with Facilities Manager
- Maintains ongoing list of projects with timeline to be addressed and completed.
- Assists other maintenance personnel as needed,
- Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Ensures the work is completed with technical excellence, and in an efficient and cost-effective fashion.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must have 3 or more years of experience in a technical, hands-on position
- Ability to regularly lift up to 40lbs with repetitive movements
- Ability to push and pull items
- Ability to stand and/or walk up to constantly during the shift
- Ability to climb up and down ladders
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications required and SAP experience preferred
- Ability to work independently from verbal and/or written instructions required
- Knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting (AB, Koyo, Omron, Mitsubishi, etc.)
- Must understand Lean Manufacturing concepts
- Must be mechanically inclined and can use basic hand tools
- Must have strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Works in a clean manufacturing and warehouse environment that may include moderate noise levels
