The Strategic Planning Manager acts as an internal consultant and facilitator for overall Strategic Planning activities and processes relevant to the BayCare Health System. Areas of focus include BayCare Health System’s various divisions (e.g. ambulatory, inpatient, physician, homecare, post-acute, nursing, pharmacy), system-wide service lines, associated hospitals (e.g., general acute, tertiary, behavioral health) and an employed multispecialty physician group.



Responsibilities :

  • Leading senior management in the design and implementation of project plans to frame our health system strategic initiatives, and meet deliverables and target deadlines, managing multi-disciplinary strategic planning projects ranging from single projects to complex engagements with multiple workstreams for the development of plans in support of service lines, hospitals, and other areas of the care continuum.
  • Analyzing current and future market and population data, synthesizing business intelligence, industry and market trends/data into information and knowledge to drive strategic decision making.
  • Supporting analyses of business development opportunities, conducting future geographic footprint studies including prioritization for key components of the care continuum (e.g. physician, ambulatory, inpatient).
  • Supporting the strategic study component of evaluating potential joint ventures and acquisitions, developing historical, current and projected market and facility demand for healthcare services, completing physician community and strategic manpower analyses.
  • Monitoring and reporting State regulatory activities, and supporting community health needs assessment activities.
  • In the management of the activities above, the Strategic Planning Manager, in coordination with their direct supervisor and other strategic planning managers, may train, supervise, mentor and manage the performance of the other team members in the department.

  • Responds to questions and assists students with student health insurance.
  • Determines solutions and documents issues/problems so that they can be escalated to the insurance company vendor or the appropriate internal UGA department, such as Student Accounts, individual departments, or the Graduate School.

  • Triage and escalate complex employee and student issues.


Percentage of time 30 Duties/Responsibilities
  • Assists with compiling and processing data files for the student insurance vendor for multiple enrollment and waiver periods.
  • Downloads reports, runs queries, and works on benefits error reports.
  • Determines and coordinates solutions for errors as appropriate.
  • Enters/updates information in appropriate systems such as Banner or the vendor system.


Percentage of time 30 Duties/Responsibilities
  • Does research in Banner and the insurance company portal on data and coverage issues for the student health insurance plan.
  • Determines appropriate solutions and coordinates solutions with student health insurance vendors and other UGA departments.
  • Requests additional information from students or departments and provides direction to status as needed.
  • Research and reconcile benefits issues for employees and retirees.
  • Requests additional information from employees/retirees, provides additional direction and informs employees/retirees of status as needed


Percentage of time 20 Duties/Responsibilities
  • Completes administrative duties required to communicate or resolve benefits issues or to provide benefits education. Updates the benefits website.
  • Performs other duties as needed.

Department Summary

The Office of Academic Planning and Budget advises the VCCFO and Executive Vice Provost regarding campus budgetary planning issues and allocation of campus resources, including issues involving students, faculty, staff, space, and university finances. The office also manages the key campus planning processes and data sets that support these decisions, and performs a central role in UCLA's systems of internal control and accountability.

Position Summary

Under the general direction of the Director for Financial Analysis & Decision Support, serve as a Senior Strategic Planning Analyst within the Office of Academic Planning & Budget (APB). APB reports to the Vice Chancellor & CFO, and acts in an advisory role to the Chancellor and the Executive Vice Chancellor/Provost in providing financial analysis that informs campus decision-making and strategic planning. APB provides financial decision support and analysis related to all organizations on campus, not just academic units. UCLA has 40+ organizations that include the academic schools and also the non-academic organizations such as facilities, police, IT, and the Library among many others. The Senior Strategic Planning Analyst will receive a portfolio of organizations that they will be responsible for in terms of providing financial and strategic business analysis. This includes providing financial assessment of ongoing budget and planning issues, development of financial models and forecasts, and also trend, variance and contingency analysis. It is expected that the Senior Strategic Planning Analyst is comfortable in using large data sets in Excel in order to develop financial models and analysis. The Senior Strategic Planning Analyst will also partner with the campus units and serve as an internal consultant, providing advice and training based on the outcomes of the analysis. For the campus annual budget process, the Senior Strategic Planning Analyst will review budget submissions to gain a thorough understanding of the assumptions, issues and will attend all budget meetings along with the Organization Leadership, VC/CFO, AVC and Director. The Senior Strategic Planning Analyst will also assist in preparation of budget materials for presentation to the Chancellor, Executive Vice Chancellor/Provost, the Office of the President along with others. During this next period, the Senior Strategic Planning Analyst will help drive forward major transformational changes that are being led by APB. This includes transitioning to a new campus model of allocating the resources, modernizing our budgeting systems, and continuing to enhance the budget and planning process by working with campus units to develop multiyear budget plans. Position offers the opportunity to work remotely on a fulltime or hybrid schedule. This may include the option of working remotely from outside of Los Angeles County or the State of California.

• Working knowledge of financial analysis, planning and budgeting with an ability to integrate complex operational and financial considerations through the use of critical thinking. (Required)

Job Purpose

The Business and Product Planning Division sets the product requirements for the next generation lineup of models, guiding the design and engineering teams through the early development phases to achieve a winning vehicle. Developing the future product requirements needs a highly capable, highly knowledgeable, and highly engaged team. The team will focus on analyzing future society and customer trends that will affect future mobility. The Data Analyst will support the long-term strategy creation led by the Principal Economist. Activities include market analysis, customer research, segmentation of customers and target creation. T his position requires high level collaboration between Auto De velopment Center (ADC), American Honda Motor (AHM), American Honda Motor Research and Development (AHM R&D), Honda Development & Manufacturing of America (HDMA), 4MOC and 4ji to align future customers, products, and strategies.

Key Accountabilities

  • Data Analysis – Ability to analyze large data sets and develop key insights from the data that is relevant to identification of the target customers. Ability to translate data / key insights into narratives / reports targeted to engineers, designers and analysts with oversight.
  • Research – Ability to research market and consumers, developing key insights that are relevant to the problems and determining ways to attack the market. Supports research projects including desk research, focus groups or clinics or on-line quantitative surveys. Can advise on creative matters to ensure the final product output matches the original intention and targets.
  • Sensing - Maintains a thorough understanding of the automotive market, consumers, consumer preferences and company strategy, that is relevant to our current plans.
  • Support corporate objectives with critical information for how to compete in the future. Supports long-term department vision and department goals to achieve Division targets

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Minimum Educational Qualifications:

  • 4-year college degree is required, ideally with a major in business, marketing, economics or related field
  • MBA is a plus

Minimum Experience:

  • Ideal candidate would have 0-2 years of experience doing analysis, ideally with an automotive Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)
  • Experience in the area of product planning, product development or brand management is preferred.

Other Job-Specific Skills:

  • Awareness of the automotive industry, products and technology
  • Possess critical thinking, business judgement, analytical and presentation skills
  • Understanding of macroeconomic factors that impact the industry
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Ability to demonstrate ideation/concept generation in a fast-paced environment
  • Consumer research and analysis skills, including statistical analysis skills
  • Ability to become proficient with planning tools such as MTAB, PIN, etc
