Lay-out, assemble and install solar modules, panels, or support structures, as specified . Apply weather sealing to array, building, or support mechanisms . Identify methods for laying out, orienting, and mounting modules or arrays to ensure efficient installation, electrical configuration, or system maintenance . Identify and resolve any deficiencies in photovoltaic (PV) system installation or materials . Install required labels on solar system components and hardware . Determine materials, equipment, and installation sequences necessary to maximize installation efficiency . Install active solar systems, including solar collectors, concentrators, pumps, or fans . Activate photovoltaic (PV) systems to verify system functionality and conformity to performance expectations . Lift, carry and hold building materials, tools, and supplies; clean tools, equipment, material, and work areas Work areas will have a clean as you go policy, and work areas will be clean before leaving site . Compile or maintain records of system operation, performance, and maintenance . Perform a variety of routine, non-machine tasks, including, but not limited to removing forms from set concrete, filling expansion joints with asphalt, digging, spreading and leveling dirt and gravel, using pick, shovel and wheelbarrow . At least 2 years of experience working as a Solar Installer or equivalent combination of education and experience in a construction setting. Working knowledge of the Solar Photovoltaic construction craft and the assembly, installation, or maintenance of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for ground or roof installation. Ability to understand and follow directions. Must have all necessary tools (see Solar Installer Tool List). Must be at least 18 years of age. # Project Overview:
Port Arthur LNG, LLC (PALNG) is developing a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on a site located on the western shoreline of the Port Arthur Canal in Jeferson County, Texas. The project base scope will include two (2) identical LNG trains, two (2) LNG Storage Tanks, one (1) LNG Carrier Berth, and associated utilities/facilities. The Project is to be constructed on a parcel of land located along State Highway 87 south of Port Arthur, Texas, between the inner coastal waterway bridge and Keith Lake. The Infrastructure Global Business Unit (GBU) is executing site civil and marine scopes of work associated with our scopes of work on the Energy GBU LNG projects.

# Job Summary:
The Site Work Field Engineer is responsible for providing technical assistance, direction, and support to Bechtel and subcontractor field supervision for construction and installation activities for all disciplines associated with specified area equipment and materials.
# Major Responsibilities:
+ Performing inspections and initiating supporting documentation for all discipline system installations on an ongoing basis.
+ Providing support to field supervision in establishing requirements for workforce, tools, equipment, and material requirements for a given work evolution.
+ Developing installation work packages for scopes of work in support of the construction schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Leads medium-to-large estimates or components of large estimates and is accountable for that specific scope of work. Leads win strategy development

  • Conducts detailed analysis of contract documents and specifications to determine and validate overall project requirements.

  • Ensures the completion of full quantity take-offs of all labor, equipment, and materials from project documents and identifies missing information.

Qualifications

  • 8 years of progressive experience in construction cost estimating, and 6-12 months of on-site experience is preferred.

  • Successfully led pursuits valued at up to $150 million in various delivery methods.

  • Knowledge of different construction methods; planning, scheduling, sequencing, quality, safety, and timelines.

  • Extensive knowledge of key principles involved in bid preparation; including quantity takeoff procedures and systems, subtrade partner procurement, pricing, interdepartmental functions, general expense philosophy and bid-closing procedures.

  • Understanding of compensation models, market conditions, business trends, internal historical information and competitors to develop win strategies.

  • Experience estimating multiple scopes, with the capability of building conceptual estimates.

  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with stakeholders including the ability to solicit subtrade partners and suppliers.

  • Working knowledge of estimating software, advanced skills using Microsoft Office Suite and a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.

Here's how a Yard Pipe/Site Work Estimator for our Civil Infrastructure office contributes to our team:
**Responsibilities**
+ Leads medium-to-large estimates or components of large estimates and is accountable for that specific scope of work. Leads win strategy development
+ Conducts detailed analysis of contract documents and specifications to determine and validate overall project requirements.
+ Ensures the completion of full quantity take-offs of all labor, equipment, and materials from project documents and identifies missing information.
+ Leads the development of conceptual estimate proposal submissions and presentations to support construction management and design-build pursuits.
+ Supports the estimate lead by populating tender forms, generating requests for information, anticipating proposal requirements, and assisting to establish a pursuit schedule.
+ Conducts risk and opportunity analysis by reviewing all bid related documents and utilizing project and industry knowledge.
+ Assists with bid document control by documenting, organizing, and archiving all information relating to the estimate for successful transfer to the project team.
+ Performs bid-day assignments and supporting other estimators to successfully close various scopes.
+ Coordinates with internal departments and external stakeholders to create site logistics, a schedule, an execution plan, and project budget requirements.
+ Completes and presents final cost estimate and tender submission to chief estimator and district management for review and approval before submission to the client.
+ Establishes a critical path schedule for the estimate/pursuit and reviewing work completed by estimators on the pursuit.
+ Leads a team including mentoring and coaching direct and indirect reports.
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree or diploma in related discipline or trade experience or equivalent.
+ 8 years of progressive experience in construction cost estimating, and 6-12 months of on-site experience is preferred.
+ Successfully led pursuits valued at up to $150 million in various delivery methods.
+ Knowledge of different construction methods; planning, scheduling, sequencing, quality, safety, and timelines.
+ Extensive knowledge of key principles involved in bid preparation; including quantity takeoff procedures and systems, subtrade partner procurement, pricing, interdepartmental functions, general expense philosophy and bid-closing procedures.
+ Understanding of compensation models, market conditions, business trends, internal historical information and competitors to develop win strategies.
+ Experience estimating multiple scopes, with the capability of building conceptual estimates.
+ Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with stakeholders including the ability to solicit subtrade partners and suppliers.
+ Working knowledge of estimating software, advanced skills using Microsoft Office Suite and a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.

**Description**
The School of Art at Carnegie Mellon University continually seeks qualified adjunct instructors to teach a variety of studio courses. This is an open call for part-time adjunct instructors in the area of Sculpture, Installation, and Site Work (SIS). This area focuses on object making and fabrication, teaching a range of techniques in wood, metals, mold making, soft sculpture, ceramics / clay, as well as mixed media and site-specific installation. This area also teaches interactive object making, physical computing, and various forms of digital fabrication, including 3D printing and the uses of various CNC machines.
Examples of courses for which we seek instructors include foundation-, intermediate-, and advanced-level courses in wood, metals, mold making and casting, soft sculpture, physical computing, digital fabrication, mixed media, and installation. Studio classes typically meet for three hours a day, two days a week, over a 14-week semester. Studio courses have an average enrollment of 15 students per class.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis all year long. Candidates who meet criteria for needed courses will be contacted during planning for the fall or spring semesters.

This is a long-term gig contract opportunity expected to be a year or more.
