**Major Responsibilities:**
+ Identify new technologies to develop and implement automated manufacturing solutions related to crystal growth, optical fabrication, and thin film coating
+ Improve processes to enhance cost-efficiency, quality, speed, agility, and consistency
+ Lead improvement projects through all phases, including conceptualization, planning, design, manufacturing, in-house testing, documentation, and ongoing support
+ Work closely with technicians, department engineers, and supervisors to ensure project success
+ Further refine project scope and objectives under general guidance, exercising latitude in determining technical objectives of assigned projects
+ Conduct root cause analysis on process failures and implement corrective actions
+ Oversee capital equipment purchases when necessary, ensuring proper qualification, and develop preventative maintenance procedures
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 2+ years of relevant experience.
+ Hands-on experience with designing, fabricating, and implementing mechanical and electrical systems.
+ Strong technical expertise, work ethic, and passion for driving innovation through automation
+ Successful management of projects and processes involving multiple manufacturing areas or plants
+ Demonstrated ownership and attention to detail in project execution as well as initiative and self-motivation for learning and progressing projects to completion
+ Experience in a wide range of engineering skills related to manufacturing including:
+ 3D printing
+ Familiar with Manual and CNC machining methods
+ 3D CAD modeling (Autodesk Inventor) and 2D CAD drawings for manufacturing with strong GD&T understanding
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ 5 years or more experience working in a manufacturing facility
+ Experience working with industrial and/or collaborative robots
Salary Range: $77,600.00 - $116,400.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. + Significant experience in heat treatment vacuum furnace operations and maintenance.

You, as an integral part of a larger manufacturing team, will engage with the hourly workforce, manufacturing operations, Design Engineering, and Project Management to develop and refine the machining processes needed to satisfy the technical requirements of incoming customer service orders for steam turbine rotors. These rotors range in size starting at a few hundred pounds up to approximately 200 tons and can be newly manufactured or refurbished. Some rotors come into our facility with very challenging needs, which takes your expertise to generate tooling and procedures for repair. You will shift between forward looking innovations to reduce process execution time, to daily issues that must be resolved by the end of the day to keep up with customer delivery. Your day will include a relatively even mix between desk work and hands-on factory support. Someone who excels in a dynamic and fast paced environment will find both enjoyment and fulfillment in this role.
**How You'll Make an Impact**
- Develop and optimize CNC programs for Lathe, Milling, and Turn Mill operations using G-code and M-code.
- Analyze engineering drawings to determine machining processes, tooling needs, and setup procedures.
- Implement standardization initiatives for consistency and efficiency in CNC operations.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify and implement process improvements.

**A Snapshot of Your Day**
As the Manufacturing Process Engineer at our new Siemens Energy Transformers Repair Center Factory at Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, you will be responsible for leading and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure the efficient production. This role involves overseeing the development and implementation of systems that support our internal processes, identifying and improving manufacturing processes, and leading capacity enhancement projects. Reporting directly to the Manufacturing Manager, the Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer will ensure that production operations are carried out efficiently, effectively, and in line with quality standards.
This role will be based at our new factory in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, and will initially coincide with the factory's construction. During this phase, we will focus on developing our processes, refining our offerings, and collaborating closely with a high-performance team. This will involve all aspects of the commercial setup to ensure we are well-prepared to meet the needs of our customers effectively when factory operations start.
**How You'll Make an Impact**
+ Lead and optimize manufacturing processes to ensure timely, high-quality production.
+ Plan and execute cross-functional projects related to shop floor layout, Lean Manufacturing, and tooling/fixture needs.
+ Collaborate with teams to drive process improvements, cost savings, waste reduction, and quality enhancement.
+ Provide technical expertise to optimize manufacturing processes and equipment.
+ Research and implement innovative tools to support and accelerate manufacturing.
+ Analyze factory capacity and develop strategies to maximize production output.
+ Train new talents and colleagues in Lean Topics and High-Performance Team practices.
+ Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
**What You Bring**
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in electrical, electronic, mechanical or mechatronic engineering.
+ 5+ years previous experience working with transformers in a manufacturing environment is required. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work optimally with all levels of the organization and with external partners.
+ Proficient with Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office programs, and Autodesk CAD programs.
+ Willingness to relocate to the Charlotte, NC area if not already local.

As a Manufacturing Quality Engineer, you will be part of the engineering department supporting quality initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to continuous improvement, which will align successfully in the organization.
**Job Title:** Manufacturing Quality Engineer
**Location:** Charlotte, NC
**Pay Range:$25 to** $33 per hour
Duration: 12 month contract
**What's the Job?**
+ Work with moderate direction to identify and resolve quality issues in manufacturing processes.
+ Examine equipment, processes, and operations to suggest improvements for time and quality revisions.
+ Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to enhance quality management systems.
+ Design and develop sustainable products while adhering to Lean principles.
+ Engage in independent decision-making and action on more complicated assignments.
**What's Needed?**
+ A Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a relevant field is required.
+ 5 years of experience in manufacturing and quality engineering.
+ Lean certification and a documented list of relevant projects.
+ Proficiency in MS Office applications.
+ Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
