Lincoln Electric has an available opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer. We are seeking a reliable, experienced and motivated individual to join our team at our Mentor, OH facility. The successful candidate will provide collaborative communication, applying knowledge and experience toward innovating and improving our Mentor Consumables. This role involves working with cross functional teams using innovative and creative problem solving skills to meet project goals.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the mechanical aspects of the projects including facilities preparation, equipment design and equipment installation.
- Work on engineering solutions to improve equipment reliability and safety, lower operation and maintenance costs, and improve ergonomics.
- Engineer solutions that comply with ISO 14001 and EHS initiatives.
- Interface with all engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, and R&D departments to ensure accuracy of project design target details. Provide technical support to Production and Maintenance departments.
- Knowledge of wire manufacturing and/or wire drawing is a plus.
- Experience working & interacting with contractors, consultants, and vendors/suppliers as part of prototyping and development of process improvements.
- Experience or familiar with Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing concepts is a plus. Knowledge of Solid Edge, and MS Office software is a must.
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering. Other engineering disciplines with appropriate experience would be considered.
- Level II Mininum 3 years experience; Level III Mininum 5 years experience
- Apply practical process knowledge with hands on approach to production troubleshooting, installations, and testing.
- Able to create and modify mechanical drawings utilizing established standards utilizing SolidEdge CAD software. Training can be provided as needed.
- Develop mechanical improvements and tooling design for existing machinery soliciting observations from Operations, Maintenance and Engineering.
- Investigate product warranty reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Develop and recommend equipment specifications, performance requirements, cost analysis and proposals for integrating machinery, equipment, and tooling into the manufacturing process.
- Monitor and evaluate production parameters including but not limited to scrap generation, identify ways to reduce scrap and ensure product quality standards.
- Author operational procedures.
- Work as a collaborative team member or team leader on strategic projects.
- Work under general supervision with few direct instructions. Carries out routine and semi-routine tasks independently.

Quality/Reliability Engineer
· Lead Critical Supplier Process to drive Supplier Quality Reject (QR) performance improvement.
· Participate in Quality Reviews and assigned sub-system PRT (Powertrain Variability Reduction Team) meetings. Drive resolution of external supplier process -3MIS and 0MIS warranty concerns.
· Support QR procedures by supporting concern binning, reviewing threshold QRs, and providing support for QR Dispute resolution. Assist the Incoming Quality (IQ) department with non-responsive suppliers. Assist suppliers and plants in QR/PPM (Parts Per Million) data accuracy.
What you'll do.
· Coordinate part quality confirmation process for suppliers with repetitive containment failure.
· Lead containment of special-cause supplier process 3MIS and 0MIS BSAQ (Balanced Single Agenda for Quality) projects.
· Align with PRT on Supplier Process (SP) BSAQ issues for Glidepath values.
· Provide early notification to and engage the STA Site team on potential Stop Shipments related to supplier process (SP).
· Provide support in containing supplier Stop Ship issues. Assist Site STA team with suspect material / Vehicles On-Hold and release process tracking.
· Work with Stop Ship stakeholders to support accurate root cause for Prevent Action Closure (PAC) process reporting.
· Monitor daily production report (DPR) and provide notification to STA management for issues that require Site STA team awareness/intervention.
· Act as supplier representative and liaison between STA and manufacturing plant management. Support Daily Plant Quality Meetings (PIC Room) to report on

The Senior Turbine Airfoils Manufacturing Field Service Engineer is responsible for providing advanced technical expertise and leadership in the manufacturing and optimization of turbine airfoils. This role involves mentoring junior engineers, driving strategic process improvements, and collaborating with manufacturing teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure high-quality production, adherence to safety standards, and efficient delivery of turbine airfoils. The engineer will also lead troubleshooting efforts, implement complex process improvements, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards. This position requires up to 50% travel to support operations at Madisonville, Greenville, and Auburn sites. The role includes responsibilities for laser weld, laser ablation, creep feed grinding, and electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes.
This position will require up to 50% travel to customer sites.
**Job Description**
**Roles and Responsibilities:**
+ Provide advanced technical support and leadership for turbine airfoil manufacturing processes, including laser weld, laser ablation, creep feed grinding, and EDM
+ Lead troubleshooting and optimization efforts for laser weld and ablation processes, ensuring precision and reliability in joining and material removal operations
+ Drive strategic improvements in creep feed grinding and EDM operations to enhance material removal accuracy and surface finish quality
+ Mentor and train junior engineers and manufacturing personnel on best practices and advanced techniques for laser weld, laser ablation, creep feed grind, and EDM processes
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex manufacturing challenges and improve process efficiency across all operations
+ Conduct root cause analysis and lead the implementation of corrective actions for quality or performance issues related to these processes
+ Ensure compliance with safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC) priorities, with safety being the top priority
+ Monitor and analyze production data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement in these specialized areas
+ Communicate effectively with customers and suppliers to address technical concerns and ensure satisfaction
+ Document and report findings, recommendations, and progress to stakeholders, providing strategic insights and solutions
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in turbine airfoil manufacturing or a related field)
+ At least an additional 5 years of experience in turbine airfoil manufacturing or a related field
