Work will incorporate aspects of daily management, short-term problem solving, and long-term projects and kaizen events tied to the Madison Transformation Plan. Key focuses include optimizing production lines for lighthouse New Product Introductions (NPI), transforming the production and flow of sub-assemblies, and the incorporation of the GE HealthCare Lean Management System.

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician, reporting to the Equipment Integration Manager, is located at our Fremont factory location. The primary responsibility of this role is to support engineering teams with process & equipment installation, demolition, and optimization. The candidate should have expertise and experience in fabrication, rigging and equipment maintenance in an automotive OEM environment. This includes participation in design review, commissioning, and launching new equipment and processes.Flexibility to work on occasional weekends and holiday is required.

What You'll Do
  • Work with engineering teams to build, assemble and install new equipment for proof of concept (pilot / prototype) and mass-production: Robots / automation, tools / fixtures, machine safe-guarding / fencing, process fixtures, cable trays, piping and various other fixtures
  • Fabricate / build equipment and tools to optimize production process and resolve equipment issues
  • Participate in process / equipment design reviews to ensure optimization for manufacturability and maintenance
  • Investigate and implement countermeasures to improve Process, Quality, Safety, and Cycle-Time. Identify areas of improvement & work with engineering and/or maintenance groups to schedule & execute modifications for measurable improvement

What You'll Bring
  • Completion of a maintenance or millwright apprenticeship or equivalent OJT experience is preferred
  • 3+ years of trade experience in a manufacturing environment and 3+ years of experience with Forklift, Boom lift, Scissor lift, fall protection. 3+ years of experience with Forklift, Boom lift, Scissor lift, fall protection
  • Proven experience with welding / fabrication, machining, building machine safeguarding (line enclosures). Safe use of all hand and power tools
  • Good computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office

Job Description

As a Manufacturing Engineering Technician here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in supporting manufacturing operations by ensuring that engineering processes are efficient and effective. You will be involved in troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving manufacturing equipment and processes, contributing to the overall success of our production goals.

You will report directly to our Engineering Manager and youll work out of our Northford, CT location.

In this role, you will impact the efficiency and quality of our manufacturing processes, helping to deliver high-quality products to our customers while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support manufacturing operations by troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues to minimize downtime.
  • Assist in the implementation of process improvements and engineering changes to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that manufacturing processes are aligned with engineering specifications.


Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE
  • 1+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Proficiency in using CAD software and other engineering tools.
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
  • Advanced Engineering degrees such as ME (Mechanical Engineering) or EE (Electrical Engineering).
