Description

ISCO Industries is an end-to-end piping solutions provider that specializes in HDPE. Manufacturing Engineers create and build tools, equipment, products, and solutions to give the operations and sales teams what they need to be the best in the industry. This position is based in our Louisville fabrication facility where we have a dedicated projects area for product R & D and equipment design/development and fabrication. Experience a balance of design work in the office, R & D and fabrication in the shop, and travel for on-site work.

Essential Duties

• New product R & D.
• Design and build new equipment to be used in fabrication facilities.
• Maintain and improve existing equipment in fabrication facilities.
• Manage and execute fabrication facility upgrades or additions.
• Procure tools and equipment for fabrication and distribution facilities.
• Document and organize all projects worked on.
• Manufacturing process and organization improvements.
• CNC and Robotic manufacturing equipment setup and support.
• Support operations and company initiatives.
• Perform other tasks as needed.

Base Qualifications and Competencies

• Education: Qualified candidates will possess, at minimum, a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other Engineering discipline. Prior work or internship experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment required.
• Experience: 3 - 10 years. Experience designing and building equipment and procurement of tools or components required.
• Skills: Proficient knowledge of Autodesk Inventor as well as some of the following skills required: equipment fabrication, welding, machining, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic. Project management and organizational skills preferred. Must have working knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Etc.).

Position Summary
This position is responsible for developing cost estimates and pricing in response to quote/ proposal requests from new and existing customers. Additionally, this role will analyze customer revisions to determine related cost/ pricing changes. This individual will handle all the administrative aspects to set up parts, kits, and assemblies in the business system of the division. The incumbent will interact daily at various levels within the division. This individual would have the ability to understand and participate in resolving the technical and operational challenges with particular business opportunities. This person will spend more than 90% of their time executing the day to day administrative and technical activities associated with developing data used to propose and set up new business for the division.
Duties and Responsibility
+ Analyze and evaluate customer prints and specifications to determine best production methods considering cost and quality.
+ Assist other associates in the division as needed in the development of new business with existing customers.
+ Help to assure that we retain business that is profitable, sustainable, and collectable
+ Interact with O'Neal procurement personnel as needed.
+ Interact with sales and business development personnel at other O'Neal subsidiaries.
+ Travel as needed to accomplish desired results. Overnight travel may be required occasionally.
+ Apply the principles used in the pricing strategies of the division.
+ Work collaboratively with Strategic Business Development Managers and Strategic Account Managers to assure accurate and timely proposals to the customer.
+ Work collaboratively with Plant Managers, Manufacturing Technicians and VP of Manufacturing to assure accurate estimates of manufacturing costs.
+ Participate in technical discussions with internal associates or our client's personnel.
+ Communicate status of analysis projects and assure that agreed upon deadlines are met.
+ Interact with O'Neal Sales process tools as needed.
+ May assist in creating formal presentations to existing customers.
+ May assist in the preparation and organization of the planned business review meetings with customers.
+ Have a general understanding of the financial performance of the division.

**What You'll Bring to Our Team**
**Required:**

+ Experience in manufacturing quality, new product introduction (NPI), or process improvement
+ Proven problem-solving skills using Lean and Six Sigma principles
+ Ability to analyze manufacturing data to drive improvements

Pay Rate

The pay rate for this job is $16-$17 / hour. The Superintendent will help plan, manage and execute on all aspects of assigned projects with some complexity. Join the Nexus Horizontal Axis Washer Team as a Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (Sr AME) and take the lead in delivering state-of-the-art manufacturing processes and equipment for our new product introductions (NPI). This highly collaborative role will have you working cross-functionally across engineering, design, quality, procurement, operations, and more to bring best-in-class appliances to life.
As a Sr AME, you'll manage large-scale capital equipment projects from concept to installation, while ensuring reliability, efficiency, and safety. You'll also coach junior engineers, influence product design for manufacturability, and be a key player in driving lean manufacturing and automation innovations across the value stream.

**How You'll Create Possibilities**
+ Lead capital equipment projects including specifications, supplier selection, layouts, installation, and qualification-ensuring optimal OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
+ Serve as the voice of manufacturing during NPI projects, balancing quality, labor, budget, and delivery metrics.
+ Design and develop robust metal fabrication and assembly processes with an eye on safety, operator ergonomics, and lean flow.
+ Integrate manufacturing standards (MCPs/MCIs), DFMA, GD&T, and EHS considerations into every phase of equipment and process development.
+ Partner with automation engineers to implement innovative and cost-effective robotic applications.
+ Support operator and technician training on new systems and processes.
+ Serve as a mentor to junior AMEs and contribute to building a strong, agile engineering team.
**What You'll Bring to Our Team**
**Requirements:**
+ BS degree in Engineering or related field
+ 5+ years hands on experience in manufacturing equipment and processes
+ 3+ years' experience managing capital equipment procurement projects, including specification development, equipment supplier selection, technical reviews, installation and qualification of equipment
+ Solid background in assembly, automation, and packaging equipment
+ Proven track record of success in NPI environments and Lean manufacturing initiatives
+ Excellent communicator and cross-functional collaborator, comfortable working with both engineers and shop-floor teams
+ Passion for innovation, ownership of outcomes, and commitment to safety and quality
+ Proficient with GD&T, AutoCAD, and project scheduling tools
**Preferred:**
+ Prior experience with packing equipment and robotic automation, strongly preferred
+ Robotics experience is a plus
**Work Environment & Travel:**
+ Work in a high-volume manufacturing setting
+ Must be flexible to support occasional off-shift or weekend operations
+ Travel up to 25% to support launches and supplier coordination

+ Proven success in managing capital equipment projects, including supplier selection, installation, and qualification; including the ability to meet deadlines and budgets for construction and equipment projects.
+ Communication and leadership skills to engage with a variety of teams, from shop floor operators to senior management.
+ Expertise in Lean manufacturing principles.
**Preferred Skills** :
+ Six Sigma certification and Lean process improvement expertise.
+ Proficiency in MS Office, scheduling tools, and AutoCAD.
+ Prior involvement in NPI programs.
+ Experience with Collaborative Robots and AI systems is a plus
