The Production Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean & safe work environment as well as maintaining professional working relationships with co-workers. Job duties vary daily, but all are focused on the forming, finishing and packaging of fired brick, used in the refractory industry.
The Product Technician operates equipment used to press or hand mold refractory brick from mixtures of wet and dry materials with varying binders. Technicians inspect, make minor repairs and adjustments, changes molds and sets up refractory press for the manufacturing of product.
Positions start at $24.84 per hour.
Responsibilities
Job Duties:
- Operates and programs presses, setters, pickers, scales and all of bearing equipment; off bears brick from press table to rack cark, kiln car or pallet, cleans loose material and flange before setting in prescribed manner.
- Operates tram cab, high lift any other transport machinery to deliver materials to presses.
- Transfers kiln cars; transports racks and/or rack cars to and from presses and ovens.
- Gauges and cleans kiln cars.
- Operates lift trucks to transport materials through out the plant.
- Performs SMS charting and analysis of process variables.
- Performs in process quality control.
- Performs minor preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Previous forklift experience preferred.
- Average mechanical knowledge.
- Must be a team player.

Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain laser power bed fusion and other machine tools
- Operate and program machines: WireEDM, grinder, unpacking station, sieve, bead blast station
- Planning- Ability to organize and plan post-processing activities based on program priority and help contribute to a master schedule
- Material handling - Prepare outgoing shipments, coordinate delivery for incoming orders, and maintain work orders and receipts within the ERP system
- Transportation of material/hardware between Ursa Major's Ohio facilities and local vendors
- Ensure machine changeovers are completed with high quality and documented according to standard operating procedures
- Handle metal power recycling equipment (conveyers, sieves) and maintain power feedstock quality throughout the life cycle

Job Summary:
To perform a variety of hand assembly and/or machine operations along with bending operations associated with the manufacturing of tubing bundles using diagrams and job order sheets for shipping product. Must complete any SPC and/or attribute charts as required. Set-up and operate cutting machine as per instruction from parts list, visually inspect hose for defects, and check inside diameter with correct gauging pins. Set-up and operate marking machine, perform work of an equal or lower classification and implement Lean Manufacturing as required for operational needs. Must be able to read and follow simple diagrams and specific written instruction.
Essential Duties:
Secure proper types and quantities of tubing and fittings according to instructions on cut sheets and templates.
Set up and operate the cutter/marker, depth marking, ovens and cooling chamber to produce quality product.
Assemble proper fittings to tubing, exercising proper care to avoid excessive pressure on assembly devices. Tighten fittings as specified, avoiding crossing of threads.
Load reel into payout and string tubing through cutter according to cut sheet.
Set depth marking machines, checking the tolerance of distance between end of tube and depth mark using the vertical height cage.
Set up assemble tables by using mylar and retrieving head fixture assembling harness according to mylar template. Form tubing fixture using cut sheet for part number and training paper for correct part.
Perform work of an equal or lower classification, as required.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Must be able to read, write, understand English language
Add, subtract, and basic math operations.
Follow simple diagram and specific written instructions.
Our manufacturing roles do have some minimum physical requirements; standing for 8+ hours, ability to wear PPE (safety shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, safety vests, and gloves), repetitive motions including use of hands to bend tubing & connect hose assemblies, sorting items by size shape and color, pushing, pulling, kneeling, squatting, and lifting, up to 45 pounds.
