Job Summary:
The production machine operator will safely run and troubleshoot equipment involved in the production of garage doors.
- Ensures line is meeting or exceeding departmental safety, quality, and productivity hourly and daily goals.
- Follows written or oral instructions regarding daily tasks and job duties.
- Works closely with Supervisor to assist in training new team members.
- Keeps notes to update KPI screen for hourly output.
- Works closely with Supervisor to achieve downstream demand.
- Performs and oversee required daily and weekly routine maintenance to respective line equipment.
- Performs and document all required quality checks and maintain 5S standards.
- Keeps accurate notes on all downtime and KPI data.
- Follows standard work to achieve required changeover times.
- Works closely with Supervisor to update and present data on tier boards.
- Follows all safety procedures and programs.
- Any and all other duties as assigned by department's supervisor.
- Minimum of high school education and 3 months of related manufacturing experience
- Must have a good command of the English language, both written and verbal
- Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) forklift certification required.
Required Skills:
- Availability to work overtime hours when necessary.
- Ability to infer outcomes from mechanical equipment.
- Must be able to explain machine malfunctions in a clear and concise manner.
- Must be able to effectively input data into spreadsheets.
- Must be able to plan effectively to maximize line run time
- Some machine programming experience is preferred
- Must be in a utility operator role or equivalent experience.
- Frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials.
- Regularly required to stand, stoop, bend and reach for up to 10 hours a day.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
- This position will require extraordinary hand-eye coordination and ability to work at a fast pace
- Prolonged standing and walking.

The FLIGHT DECK Leader will be responsible for driving lean transformation and continuous improvement across manufacturing engineering operations, ensuring alignment with GE Aerospace's FLIGHT DECK operating model. This role requires expertise in lean principles, project or program management, and quality management processes to deliver measurable results in safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC). The FLIGHT DECK Leader will partner closely with the Manufacturing Engineering leader and their extended team to activate FLIGHT DECK and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
**Job Description**
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ **FLIGHT DECK Implementation:** Lead the full adoption of FLIGHT DECK fundamentals, including Standard Work, Daily & Visual Management, Value Stream Management, Operating Cadences, and Hoshin Kanri, to optimize manufacturing processes.
+ **Leadership & Coaching:** Advise and coach site leadership and teams on FLIGHT DECK principles, acting as a change agent to embed lean practices and drive cultural transformation.
+ **Process Improvement:** Utilize lean tools and methodologies to solve complex problems, develop objectives, and achieve both short-term and long-term goals.
+ **Kaizen Facilitation:** Sensei/Coach gemba coaches to facilitate week-long kaizen events aligned with site-level metrics and business priorities.
+ **Training & Development:** Manage the training and development of extended manufacturing engineering team to ensure alignment with FLIGHT DECK transformation efforts, including curriculum development, delivery, and audit readiness.
+ **Continuous Improvement:** Champion change across the organization, leveraging tools such as the FLIGHT DECK Activation Hub to foster growth and adoption of lean practices.
+ **Collaboration:** Interface effectively with OEMs, internal teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to position technology and processes for current and future success.
+ **Metrics & Impact:** Drive measurable improvements in SQDC performance, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and customer expectations.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ **Education:** Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 5 years of lean manufacturing leadership experience.
+ **Experience Alternative:** High school diploma/GED with a minimum of 10 years of lean manufacturing leadership experience.
**Desired Experience and Characteristics:**
+ **Experience:** 10+ years in manufacturing, engineering, quality improvement, program management, with 5+ years in lean/FLIGHT DECK or operations leadership utilizing lean methodologies.
+ **Problem Solving:** Proven ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and implement efficient solutions.
+ **Leadership:** Strong interpersonal, communication, and team leadership skills, with the ability to facilitate across all organizational levels.
