The Artistri Inks Business, within the DuPont Printing & Packaging Business, has an opportunity for a Manufacturing Technology Process Engineer at the Fort Madison, IA Plant. The Artistri Inks business manufactures both pigmented and dye-based inks for the Home & Office, Commercial, and Textile printing markets.
The Manufacturing Technology Process Engineer will provide day-to-day technical expertise for many of the unit operations at the site, take ownership of process problems, identify and implement process improvements, and lead teams and/or projects for longer-term growth and improvements.
Responsibilities:
+ Identify and lead improvement projects to increase process capacity and reliability, improve product quality, increase yields, and reduce manufacturing costs
+ Assist Operations and Maintenance with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem solving
+ Provide technical expertise for the chemical processes at the site
+ Respond to process issues and drive solutions to minimize impact to manufacturing
+ Lead PSM Technology Element(s) and assist with other elements as needed
+ Lead implementation of new processes and/or capital projects for the site
+ Provide basic data for capital projects and provide resourcing support (e.g. development, commissioning, start-up, training)
+ Develop, and ensure adherence to, standard operating procedures, best practices and safety protocols
+ Accountable for showing leadership in safety and complying with all EH&S regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines
+ Provide off-shift support for continuous operations
Qualifications:
+ B.S. Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
+ Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required; 7-10 years preferred
+ Six Sigma Green Belt Certification preferred (can be acquired on the job)
Other desired qualifications or experience:
+ Experience with process automation and control including PLCs and Batching Systems
+ Able to read and interpret P&IDs and electrical single line diagrams
+ Experience using data to drive improvements in OEE, capacity release, cycle time, yield, cost, and quality
+ Knowledge or background using SPC, TrakSYS, or other data collection tools to identify and drive improvements
Demonstrated abilities:
+ Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge and RCA to diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve equipment and / or process issues
+ Application of FMEA to identify potential failures and implement improvements to minimize risk
+ Demonstrated experience in executing projects and programs to meet business and site objectives
+ Application of Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements
+ Ability to champion change in a manufacturing environment
+ Data driven decision making; root cause failure analysis
+ Strong communication skills, both written and oral

POSITION SUMMARY

Manufacturing Technologies (MT) is a critical subdomain of Southland's AEC team, focused on enabling a fabrication and manufacture-first mindset while driving operational efficiency through standardized, connected solutions. As the Manager of Manufacturing Technologies, you will provide strategic oversight and leadership across three key areas: Fabrication ERP systems (Stratus), Fabrication CADmep databases and Revit content, and shop technologies. This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining standards, driving continuous improvement, and positioning Southland as an industry leader in the fabrication and manufacturing of MEP and fire protection systems, as well as in industrialized construction and design for manufacturing and assembly (DfMA).

You will guide, mentor, and develop teams to ensure technology solutions align with business objectives and support scalable, standardized workflows nationwide. Travel to divisional offices and fabrication shops is required.

What you'll do:

Relationship Building/Management

* Build strong working relationships and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including project managers, IT, shop managers, and divisional leadership, to ensure alignment on manufacturing technology goals and strategies.
* Serve as a strategic advisor, clearly articulating technology vision and aligning initiatives with business objectives.
* Promote a culture of collaboration, shared accountability, and continuous improvement across AEC teams and Manufacturing Technology subdomains.
* Engage with industry groups and trade organizations to stay current on emerging technologies and trends that could benefit Southland.

Workflow Optimization

* Work with division leadership, functional groups, and corporate teams to implement enterprise systems and develop divisional workflows where needed.

* Oversee the development and refinement of standardized workflows to support consistent, high-quality outcomes.

Technology Deployment

* Oversee the end-to-end implementation of manufacturing technology initiatives across Southland.

* Direct the development, maintenance, and standardization of Fabrication CADmep databases and Revit content.
* Lead the deployment and integration of advanced shop technologies and equipment with digital workflows.

Change Management

* Develop and lead change management strategies for new manufacturing technology rollouts, ensuring smooth adoption and minimal disruption.

What you'll need to be successful:

* Proven experience overseeing Stratus and leading ERP or fabrication management system implementations.
* Deep knowledge of Fabrication CADmep, Revit, and digital content creation workflows, with expertise in guiding teams.
* Strong understanding of shop technologies and experience supporting machinery integration with digital systems at a strategic level.
* Familiarity with HVAC, mechanical piping, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical fabrication workflows.
* Experience establishing and supporting standards for design, fabrication, and shop operations.
* Demonstrated leadership in managing and developing cross-functional technology teams and projects.

* Review of current underutilized asset footprint within existing manufacturing footprint to determine feasibility of adapting emerging process technologies.

Will require careful review and recommendation of new external technologies and capabilities to integrate into future network strategy

Manufacturing Technologies (MT) is a critical subdomain of Southland's AEC team, focused on enabling a fabrication and manufacture-first mindset while driving operational efficiency through standardized, connected solutions. As the Manager of Manufacturing Technologies, you will provide strategic oversight and leadership across three key areas: Fabrication ERP systems (Stratus), Fabrication CADmep databases and Revit content, and shop technologies. + Create required manufacturing process documentation including equipment/technology release documents and set-up instructions.
+ Apply commonly defined process and equipment standards and consider international and regionally defined manufacturing technology-related norms.
+ Develop and negotiate equipment and tool specifications with potential suppliers from the standard supplier portfolio including timing and investment, and specify validation requirements and validate production equipment, manufacturing technologies, and related tools.
+ Cooperate closely with Schaeffler Operations manufacturing technology networks, division, business division, and business unit manufacturing technology groups, and within the region while maintaining close collaboration with other central functions like Purchasing, IT, Maintenance, and Quality.
**Your Qualifications**
Required:
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
+ 2+ years of experience in a quality assurance role
+ Strong analytical skills and the ability to create technical concepts for quality optimization
+ Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
+ Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
+ External applicants must be authorized to work in the US without employment VISA or other sponsorship
