The Artistri Inks Business, within the DuPont Printing & Packaging Business, has an opportunity for a Manufacturing Technology Process Engineer at the Fort Madison, IA Plant. The Artistri Inks business manufactures both pigmented and dye-based inks for the Home & Office, Commercial, and Textile printing markets.
The Manufacturing Technology Process Engineer will provide day-to-day technical expertise for many of the unit operations at the site, take ownership of process problems, identify and implement process improvements, and lead teams and/or projects for longer-term growth and improvements.
Responsibilities:
+ Identify and lead improvement projects to increase process capacity and reliability, improve product quality, increase yields, and reduce manufacturing costs
+ Assist Operations and Maintenance with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem solving
+ Provide technical expertise for the chemical processes at the site
+ Respond to process issues and drive solutions to minimize impact to manufacturing
+ Lead PSM Technology Element(s) and assist with other elements as needed
+ Lead implementation of new processes and/or capital projects for the site
+ Provide basic data for capital projects and provide resourcing support (e.g. development, commissioning, start-up, training)
+ Develop, and ensure adherence to, standard operating procedures, best practices and safety protocols
+ Accountable for showing leadership in safety and complying with all EH&S regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines
+ Provide off-shift support for continuous operations
Qualifications:
+ B.S. Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
+ Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required; 7-10 years preferred
+ Six Sigma Green Belt Certification preferred (can be acquired on the job)
Other desired qualifications or experience:
+ Experience with process automation and control including PLCs and Batching Systems
+ Able to read and interpret P&IDs and electrical single line diagrams
+ Experience using data to drive improvements in OEE, capacity release, cycle time, yield, cost, and quality
+ Knowledge or background using SPC, TrakSYS, or other data collection tools to identify and drive improvements
Demonstrated abilities:
+ Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge and RCA to diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve equipment and / or process issues
+ Application of FMEA to identify potential failures and implement improvements to minimize risk
+ Demonstrated experience in executing projects and programs to meet business and site objectives
+ Application of Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements
+ Ability to champion change in a manufacturing environment
+ Data driven decision making; root cause failure analysis

This position provides training and instruction for adult learners taking courses in both open enrollment and contract training situations. This position requires subject matter expertise on topics related to advanced manufacturing. The Manufacturing Technology Adjunct is responsible for the development and delivery of non-credit curriculum.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following are the functions essential to performing this job:
1. Provide instruction in Manufacturing Technology as assigned
2. Participate in required training for courses leading to industry certification
3. Develop and maintain a cooperative working relationship with personnel of the Workforce Development program.
4. Apply technology to standards of delivery within the discipline, and as it is appropriate for the student population.
5. Connect curricular learning outcomes to instruction and assessment.
6. Initiate or proofread documents for teaching activities.
7. Seek out current developments and information within the discipline.
8. Maintain appropriate program records and associated retrieval systems.
9. Provide technical expertise and offer recommendations for improvement.
10. Assist the process of analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating curriculum.
11. Participate in meetings as a member of the Workforce Development team.
12. Adhere to all FERPA requirements as well as all FCC policies and procedures.
13. Perform other duties relevant to the mission of the Workforce Development program.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
1. AAS in advanced manufacturing technology with two years industry experience, or
2. 5 years of industry experience in related field, or
3. BSET in manufacturing.

1. Industry certifications specific to the subject area
2. Familiarity with National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3) manufacturing certifications and their application to the industry
3. Demonstrated subject matter expertise in Advanced Manufacturing, Electrical, Mechanical Systems, Fluid Power, Pneumatics, PLC, and/or Robotics
4. Experience using computers and other associated production technologies
5. Two year teaching/training experience with adult learners

Manufacturing Technology Engineer II
The Manufacturing Technology Engineer II role is responsible for partnering with various departments gathering technical proposals, design and development of complex Manufacturing Technology projects primarily, but not limited to, support of manufacturing line processes. You will act as the technical SME working in collaboration across the Niagara network with both internal and external stakeholders contributing to: software architecture design, creation of SOW’s leading to the development of manufacturing software applications, integration into various enterprise systems, project pilots, and analysis of data collected justifying mass project deployments.
Essential Functions

Design, modify and deploy Manufacturing Technology Solutions through various software’s across multiple sites.

Specify hardware requirements and assist in the design of software systems dedicated to capturing process information related but not limited to OEE, FPY, Scrap, Rework, productivity, downtime analysis, and predictive maintenance.

Recognize potential problems with existing equipment and develop solutions with the ability to adapt to various engineering designs, applications, and process criteria.

Create dashboards and reports that present production data to plant staff and management.

Perform data analysis using software tools to model and develop new understanding of manufacturing opportunities.

Develop business logic when certain events are detected in operations to minimize the cost impact of the events.

Work with internal stakeholders to identify their requirements and develop innovative solutions that meet and exceed these needs.

Create and organize documentation on all MT solutions to facilitate knowledge transfer to Niagara manufacturing sites.

Investigate equipment failures and difficult to diagnose faulty operations, and make recommendations to engineers, suppliers and customers.
