These resources will contribute to the overall expansion, maintenance, and step change manufacturing capability of the site. Auburn is located about 40 minutes from Portland - Maine's largest city - and is an integral production node within our Feminine Care business unit. Here we manufacture the majority of P&G's tampon products for worldwide distribution. The Auburn plant was founded in 1968 as part of Tambrands, Inc. before the company was acquired by P&G in 1997. Our site has almost 600 full time employees split between technicians, engineers, and support personnel working in a variety of operating departments.
These positions are open only to US based Band 1 employees, or those who are successful CCTM candidates that will be placed in Band 1 roles.
These roles are onsite Monday through Friday with typical days starting between 6:30 - 7 am.

Role Scope
The Process Engineer will learn the required technical manufacturing skills, onboard to IWS, develop general leadership skills, and leverage digital analytics. The responsibility is to complete the onboarding process within six months and demonstrate learning progress through one Loss Elimination project via UPS. The Process Engineer will be part of the line triad and support the continuous improvement cycle for the line, including owning one Run to Target (RTT) Daily Management System (DMS) as part of the execution. In the Process Engineer role you'll report to a given Band 2 ODL (Operating Department Leader).
What will you do?
Where you work depends on a number of things. Manufacturing Engineers lead our efforts to identify and drive out losses through standards and system development. They support the daily activities of the production line and/or processing areas, and build long term capability into their area, systems, and technicians. Daily work could encompass any of the following:
+ Identifying, prioritizing, analyzing, and eliminating losses and inefficiencies
+ Delivery and start-up of new equipment, initiatives, and projects
+ Collaborating with technical experts, other functions, and other manufacturing sites to create the best solutions
+ Creating learning programs and coaching and training technicians
+ Propose and implement solutions that streamline processes, eliminate failures, and reduce manual intervention.
+ Creating and improving standards to enable us to achieve the performance targets for the production line
+ Understanding and working with state-of-the-art robotics and automated equipment
+ Participate in the yearly loss analysis process, identifying trends and potential areas for improvement.
+ Collaborate with stakeholders to define solutions that drive Net Sales (NS) and enhance overall operational performance.
In this role, you may work in any of the following areas:
+ Fiber processing
+ Converting line production
+ Packing line production
+ Logistics & Warehousing
Job Qualifications
You will be successful if you:
+ Have a BS/MS degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, and Chemical preferred), or have 2-5 years of relevant (industrial or manufacturing) work experience
+ Bring an interest in manufacturing & onsite work.
+ Desire a tight knit, collaborative team
+ Are willing to travel on the job on occasion. Travel in this role is not expected to be more than 10-15% of the time.
+ Are willing to relocate during your career. At P&G employees typically have the opportunity to relocate, pending personal & professional circumstances, between every 2-5 years.

Starting Salary Range: $85,000 - $15,000 annually.

**The Job You Will Perform:**
Provide mechanical maintenance services necessary to maintain equipment reliability in a key operating area of the facility. In their role, mechanics:
- Must work safely in an industrial environment
- Provide problem-solving and coaching to the operating area on a daily basis
- Demonstrate skills in precision mechanical maintenance, welding, pipefitting, rotating equipment (i.e., pumps and gearboxes), hydraulics and pneumatics
- Work in a multi-disciplined team environment
- Troubleshoot equipment problems
- Responsible for diagnosing, repairing, modifying, replacing, and installing plant mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems for all plant equipment
- Perform work necessary to maintain a variety of control systems and electrical equipment used in manufacturing
- Be able to read and understand mechanical//electrical prints pneumatic diagrams, and hydraulic diagrams
**Knowledge/Experience:**
Electrical Theory and Basics:
Circuit Protection and Switchgear, DC and AC Motors, Switches and Control Devices, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Basic tool knowledge, etc.
Employee will need computer skills to acquire notifications, work orders, requisition parts for work orders, and enter their time against these work orders.
Specific responsibilities include maintaining production equipment to optimize runnability through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of machines. Candidates for consideration should have troubleshooting skills in industrial, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical failures and the aptitude to correct those failures. Accurately completing administrative documents and following directions are important work traits. Candidates must demonstrate technical experience, reliability and the ability to work independently.

**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ **Education:** Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 5 years of lean manufacturing leadership experience.
+ **Experience Alternative:** High school diploma/GED with a minimum of 10 years of lean manufacturing leadership experience.

Our 24/7 Auburn, Maine manufacturing site is hiring several Manufacturing Technicians across multiple operating departments. This career path starts you off as a Manufacturing Technician, and can progress into several different career tracks: Manufacturing Team Leader, Electrical Technician, QA Analyst, and other support roles.

At Auburn we manufacture most of P&G's tampon production for global distribution within the overall Feminine Care business unit. Meaningful work on Day 1
We do various types of work, including running high-speed converting and packing equipment, controlling the process from a computer terminal, and performing preventive maintenance on equipment. 

Our technicians contribute to site maintenance, equipment ownership, and overall operations capability. Successful employees will break down technical barriers, obtain technical ownership supporting manufacturing projects, and ultimately bring new production capacity to our site. P&G'ers are curious, unafraid to challenge the status quo, and ultimately a team player.

Work Schedule:

  • Technicians are expected to work any day of the week, including weekends, on a 12 hour, 2-2-3 rapid rotation shift schedule . Work on weekends may be as overtime or as part of the technician's normal schedule. These shifts rotate days and nights.

  • Changes in business volume and production requirements can cause the plant to occasionally change the length of work shifts or the rotation schedule.

  • Technicians are expected to be willing to rotate and work any shift. Additional days could be required to be worked as overtime.

These skills will help you on the job:

  • Able to learn manufacturing processes, including operating, maintaining, performing maintenance, and cleaning automated line equipment

  • Maintain, and improve, accurate records and data

  • Display strong technical, interpersonal and analytical skills

  • Operating essential material handling equipment at the site e.g., clamp truck, forklift, hand trucks, etc.

Job Qualifications

  • You must be 18 years of age or older

  • Have a minimum of a high school diploma, GED or equivalent education

  • Wear required safety personal protective equipment (eye protection, ear protection, safety shoes) 

  • Willing to work rotating shifts

We believe in order to be able to perform on the job, you will need to meet the following physical requirements:  

  • Use basic hand and power tools

  • Lift 50 pounds by bending and stooping; climb, stand, and move around on stairs, ladders and platforms; twist, turn and bend

  • Enter confined spaces

  • Stand on concrete floors for an extended period of time

Average Starting Pay: $67,000
