Northrop Grumman Aerostructures Business Unit (ASBU) has an opening for **Manufacturing Engineer / Principle Manufacturing Engineer** to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The position requires on-site support and will be located in **Clearfield, UT** at the Freeport Composites Center (FCC) within the Freeport Center. This position is in support of composite part manufacturing for the F-35 program.
The selected candidate will provide critical support in a production environment to help develop and maintain manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for composite aircraft parts and assemblies. Selected candidate will be primary technical point of contact for assigned work cell(s) and work as part of a broader support team to accomplish job duties. These responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
+ Accountable for process control, quality, safety, delivery, and rework metrics for responsible production lines.
+ Responsible for floor support of the work areas to help facilitate the ability to meet production requirements.
+ Will review and interpret design drawings and specifications to ensure process is capable of producing compliant product.
+ Provides technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives.
+ Accountable for creation and maintenance of Manufacturing Bill of Materials, Work Instructions, manufacturing routers and standard work documentation.

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and self-driven Additive Manufacturing (AM) Engineer at General Atomics Systems Integration (GA-SI).
This position will occupy a strategic role in the growth of AM at GA-SI by advancing heat exchanger technology that can be applied across several aerospace platforms. This position will specifically work on a metal laser powder-bed fusion AM-related project and manufacturing operations to support flight-ready part manufacturing. This role will provide both AM technology and materials subject matter expertise towards new application development. This role will have a significant component of outward-facing interactions with various engineering, quality, and program stakeholder teams across General Atomics and its customers and subcontractors.
Although this position is part of the GA-SI Engineering Services division in Kaysville UT, this position will be mentored by the General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. (GA-ASI) AM center of excellence team and will require approximately 25% travel to Poway, CA for the first year (~1 week per month).
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Become Subject Matter Expert (SME) on metal Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF), and over time on other AM modalities. Technologies of interest to be supported by this role could include (but not limited to): Fused Deposition Modeling - FDM, Selective Laser Sintering - SLS, Laser Powder Bed Fusion - LPBF, Binder Jet (sand), LSAM/BAAM, Direct Energy Deposition - Wired (DED-W), DAPS, SLA, DLP, MJF, ECAM, and other AM technologies.
+ Working hand-in-hand with the metal LPBF manufacturing engineer in support of operations and new application development.
+ Responsible for AM rapid development, qualification, and implementation.
+ Support manufacturing production planning and coordination, execution and operations process development.
+ Support and lead the planning and implementation of AM (incl. post-processing) equipment and associated processes and safety.

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manufacturing Systems Engineering Manager 2 to lead the Strategic Deterrence Systems (SDS) Production Operations Systems & Technology Team (POS&T) in Roy, UT. This position is supporting the SDS Division for all programs use of digital tools such as CPLM/SAP/MES. You will lead the onsite Team as a member of the SDS Production Engineering leadership team, interfacing with other Production and IPT team members, customers and suppliers. As the lead for this team of Manufacturing Engineers (ME) and Industrial Engineers (IE), you will be responsible for the timely execution of the specific SOWs supporting the Sentinel Program, ICBM-Sustainment, and Advanced Programs. This selected candidate supports the use of the SDS Engineering Tool Suite to enabled horizontal collaboration for business system integration across all functions.
Candidate must have a strong background in performing manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling. The selected candidate will use experiences in manufacturing to apply it to best practices in Manufacturing Systems to drive the team to create efficiencies and connection of the digital thread. The selected candidate will manage facilitation of training in core systems and skill areas to teams and peers and interact with internal and external customers with respect to product planning, problem resolution, and process improvement. Applicants are generally experienced in one or more areas of manufacturing operations. This applicant will lead Subject Matter Experts in manufacturing systems such as CPLM/TcMfg, SAP/ERP, and SmartMES.
This position has the following duties and responsibilities:
- Drive team to develop, maintain, teach, and enforce process and procedures for Manufacturing Engineering and Production in core tools.
- Coordination with all teams to utilize SAP Material Requirements Planning (MRP) effectively.
- Enforce core system best practices to enable effective downstream use.
- Manage a team of Subject Matter Experts through testing of the PLM/ERP/MES Systems and its integrations with other systems.
- Manage implementation of new Business Processes related to PLM/ERP/MES and its integrated systems.
- Support Manufacturing Engineering in Produce Product Package (PPP) creation and delivery.
- Facilitate testing of PLM/ERP/MES when new development is released, and to troubleshoot issues programs are seeing.
- Evaluate current process and procedures to enhance and automate.
- Develop Level 1 support team with in the IPTs.
- Drive team to create and maintain training and desktop instructions for best practices.
- Assist in Proposal activity of new task orders and programs to utilize Production Systems.
- Assist in stand up of new programs and task orders when using SDS Production System Architecture
- Collaborate with all programs SOW requirements for the execution of program requirements related to Manufacturing Systems for the various build and delivery SOWs
- Collaborate across the ME Team to ensure consistency in the use of Digital Engineering processes, tools and methods for accomplishing the development work leading to Production
- Develop team members for growth in work scope capability and job satisfaction
- Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules, identify program opportunities for improvement and obtain solutions as applicable
