Summary

The Manufacturing Machining Engineer Technician supports daily manufacturing operations with a focus on process efficiency/improvement, cost reduction, and quoting new work opportunities. This role involves CNC programming, tooling, prototyping, and process optimization for machining metals and alloys. This position reports to the Engineering Manager.

Job Summary:

Requirements:

The manufacturing engineer position provides a crucial link between customer requirements and the final product that we deliver to our customers. The manufacturing engineer helps to define product specifications, develop and implement cost-effective manufacturing processes, and coordinate overall manufacturing/sourcing methods for both new and existing products.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interpretation of customer production specifications in the form of drawings (blueprints), text, samples or application requirements.
  • Analysis of product material and configuration specifications to determine suitability of form, fit and function.
  • Analysis of product specification and tolerance with regards to quality versus manufacturing process capabilities.
  • Determination of the manufacturing process including product structure (bill of materials), manufacturing routing(s), outside service processes and the application of manufacturing engineering standards.
  • Definition of product and raw material stock codes including description, invoked industry standards and revision levels.
  • Preparation of cost estimates in support sales and customer service to determine prices and subsequently acknowledge quotations to customers.
  • Preparation of factory documentation including drawings.
  • Design and development of primary and alternate manufacturing processes capable of complying with product design requirements.
  • Definition and application of product scheduling, parameters including calculation of lead time, definition of economic or other batch quantities and determine of material supply requirements.
  • Interfacing with production system and quality system personnel.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's in industrial or mechanical engineering.
  • 3-5 years of related experience
  • Knowledge of mechanical manufacturing processes, including assembly and testing.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and implementing systems to produce high-quality project efficiencies. Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage projects related to the implementation of robotic systems and manufacturing processes.
  • Manage project execution with Project Management to adhere to the project budget and schedule.
  • Estimate labor, build, and engineering needs for projects.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Schedule and conduct manufacturing review meetings to maintain the project’s schedule.
  • Provide feedback to the Manufacturing Manager/Supervisors regarding technician productivity, capabilities, and anticipated problems. Provide weekly/daily project updates to project team and management.

  • Coordinate validation testing of a system project to design requirements.
  • Review deliverables prior to shipment for on-time, complete and accurate delivery to customer.

  • Maintain a professional level of project/engineering document control per quality procedures.
  • Ability to travel to local FANUC facilities.
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirement:

·    Associate’s degree in engineering discipline in Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Systems, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering with relevant work experience.

·    A minimum of a year of experience in industrial design and/or project management experience with robotics and industrial automation.

·    Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully work in teams, take personal initiative, and effectively manage themselves in a somewhat unstructured environment.

·    Provide continuous improvement initiatives by recognizing and correcting internal and external processes when necessary.

What You Will Do

As the Assembly Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading and managing a skilled team of machine builders and assembly personnel. Your role will include overseeing daily operations, developing team members, and driving continuous improvement across the department.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of personnel management, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, discipline, recognition, and career development.
  • Assess departmental resource requirements based on current and future project capacity needs.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained in safe and optimal working condition; recommend replacement or upgrades when necessary.

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Machine Shop, Scheduling, Purchasing, and Electrical Assembly teams to drive cost, timing, and quality improvements.
  • Ensure departmental procedures and best practices are in place to maintain consistent quality workmanship.
  • Lead safety initiatives, execute training programs, and serve as a member of the Safety and Maintenance Committee.
  • Monitor key performance metrics, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions to achieve department goals.
  • Actively engage in cross-department problem solving to resolve assembly-related issues.
  • Complete manufacturing checklists, quality checks, and internal buy-off processes on all assigned projects.
  • Organize and communicate department data in a timely and accurate manner to support organizational objectives.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of experience as a Machine Builder.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience with proven ability to lead skilled trades.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
