Job Purpose

Principal Accountabilities

Knowledge / Skills / Experience
+ 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment with chemical experience a plus.
+ Must possess high school education or GED, two-year degree or technical school desired.
+ Must possess applicable Silver level WorkKeys scores - Applied Mathematics, Applied Technology, Locating Information, Reading for Information.
+ Ability to obtain lift truck certification.
+ Must be computer literate and competent in use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)

Description

Job Summary: Assemble and install sub-assembly components on commercial HVAC products in a traditional assembly line fashion while working as a team. Complete duties in a safe and timely manner in accordance with relevant codes and quality standards.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assembles and installs sub-assembly components accurately in a timely manner per approved specifications.
  • Reads blueprints and order forms and verifies parts required prior to assembly or installation.
  • Communicates with other assembly line stations to ensure maximum production and accuracy.
  • Performs quality checks on products and materials.
  • Moves materials or completed products to established locations.
  • Maintains a clean work area utilizing good housekeeping practices.
  • Adheres to health and safety regulations and wears required PPE.
  • Reports any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to leadership.
  • Collaborates with team members to meet production goals and standards.
  • Completes production reports and documentation as required.
Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

This is an entry level position. Must be at least 18 years of age.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to operate and maintain production equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies.
Work Environment:
  • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods during shift.
  • Required to wear proper personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to work in manufacturing facilities and regularly be exposed to varying and extreme temperatures, loud noises, dust, chemical fumes, sharp metal objects and heavy forklift traffic.

The Manufacturing Technician will perform mechanical assembly, disassembly and installation tasks associated with manufacturing power transformers.SUMMARY: THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:•Perform manufacturing tasks such as loading and unloading of machinery and operation of non-CNC equipment, gluing and clamping machines, painting equipment, simple test and measurement equipment and oil filling equipment as examples. •Assemble or disassemble parts or units; position, align, and fasten units to assemblies, subassemblies, or frames, using hand tools and power hand tools per product specifications or as directed.•Measure and adjust parts using measuring instruments such as scales, calipers and micrometers.•Inspect, verify, and document quality criteria during manufacturing to ensure that units meet exact specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements.•Connect, crimp, solder and braze internal leads and product wiring according to specifications using electrical and mechanical equipment such as pneumatic tools and electric and gas torch brazing.•Wrap, tape or insulate leads and wires according to work instructions.•Perform electrical tests to confirm proper wiring and insulation per specification.•Read prints, Bill of Materials, specifications and work instructions to determine proper component parts for processing, assembly and installation.•Disassemble units to replace parts or to package units for shipping. •Fabricate wooden parts, fixtures and packaging for delivery of units to customer.•Operate proper equipment to perform vacuuming, oil filling, and recovery correctly and safely.•Clean and lubricate parts and subassemblies as required.•Safely move, handle and store materials without damaging items. •Follow and adhere to standard work procedures, sequence of operations and consistently meet manufacturing standards for quality and productivity. •Perform TPM tasks as directed for each job or area.•Practice 6S and adhere to all safety rules, guidelines and safe working practices.•Safely operate material handling and lifting equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, pallet jacks, motorized scissors lifts and work platforms as required.•Assist in training of new employees including improving individual skills as well as assisting in the development of training materials.•Actively assist in troubleshooting and implementation of corrective actions.•Assist other manufacturing areas as needed. •Support and assist the Manufacturing Supervisor or Manufacturing Manager as needed.•Understand and work under the direction of the appropriate Hyosung HICO policy and/or procedure.•Know Hyosung HICO's Quality and Environmental Policies.
