Job Title: Production/Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description
This position is responsible for implementing process improvements in the Final Assembly area for Electronic Control Units (ECUs). The role involves project management, leading process improvements, reducing defects, and specifying new equipment. You will utilize mechanical and electrical troubleshooting to enhance efficiencies, work with automated assembly equipment including robotics (Fanuc and Yamaha), and PLCs. Additionally, you may use AutoCAD or SolidWorks to modify existing equipment, tooling, or fixtures, and create or update documents for team members and maintenance crew. SQL databases may be used for process data review, and you will assist in implementing a preventive maintenance schedule for the Maintenance staff.
Responsibilities
+ Lead process improvements in the Final Assembly area for ECUs.
+ Manage projects related to process improvements and defect reduction.
+ Specify and implement new equipment.
+ Utilize mechanical and electrical troubleshooting to increase efficiency.
+ Work with automated assembly equipment, including robotics and PLCs.
+ Modify equipment, tooling, or fixtures using AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
+ Create and update documents for team and maintenance use.
+ Use SQL databases for data review on processes.
+ Implement preventive maintenance schedules for the maintenance team.
Essential Skills
+ Manufacturing engineering experience.
+ Proficiency in SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
+ Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
+ Experience with process improvement.
+ Familiarity with electrical and electronics engineering.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, or related field.
+ Experience with Fanuc robot programming.
+ Knowledge of PLC ladder logic, particularly Keyence, AB, and Hitachi.
+ Ability to learn quickly.
+ Experience with C++, Visual Basic, surface-mount technology, mechanical engineering, plant layout, cpk studies, product launch, kaizen, and fixture design is beneficial.
Work Environment
The work environment is an electronic manufacturing facility, mostly clean-room, requiring smocks and ESD shoes. You will work cross-functionally with various groups such as Quality, Production, Machine Build, and Design Engineering. The role involves a mix of on-floor and desk work, depending on projects. The facility includes 14 SMT lines and a team of 9 engineers in this group. The work environment is large and collaborative.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Harrodsburg, Kentucky.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $38.00/hr.
