Ainsley Search Group is seeking a Manufacturing Program Director to join a Global Electronic Manufacturer located in Wayne County. This Program Leader will report to the General Manager and lead a program management team for the site. This ideal candidate will be responsible for directing the efficient and cost-effective operations across manufacturing, operations, Finance, Quality, closely working with customers to define program roadmap, ensure customer programs are progressed within timeline and budget, address engineering bottlenecks and drives standardize procedure and process to achieve improvement on OTD, cost and waste reduction. This is a permanent opportunity with lucrative compensation, bonuses, benefits, relocation assistance.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct the plant operations of the manufacturing, safety, maintenance, capital projects, and to achieve operational objectives within the plant.
- Provides hands-on leadership to both direct and indirect reports, full responsibilities of staffing outlook, training and career development, performance review, discipline for subordinate.
- Improve the operational systems, processes, and policies in support of company’s mission and optimize plant operations output to meet customer requirements.
- Oversee production and process performance, identify opportunities for improvement and drive CI to achieve cost saving and higher efficiency.
- Oversee capital projects and plant engineering projects based on current process capacity, determine operational improvement initiatives, plans, corrective actions to optimize plant operations across control systems and plant equipment, provide input on capital investment.
- Evaluate process capability, reliability, and overall efficiency to develop improvement strategy and further optimize safety, reliability, and efficiency across all automated systems; Apply Statistical Process Control to sustain and continuously improve process and equipment reliability.
- Monitor and develop plant KPI and metrics, collect, analyze data concerning plant output, cost, cut/yield, scarp to identify area of improvement and cost saving opportunities.
- Act as change agent to drive changes across organization, provide hands-on leadership and mentorship to improve overall plant performance.
- Collaborate with quality team and support root cause analysis, corrective action to drive improvement, reduce re-work and return issues.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain Team to develop and improve Inventory KPI and metrics on raw and finished goods, optimize safety stock strategy to avoid shortage, overstock, and obsolescence issues, promote inventory accuracy to effectively control inventory cost.
- Collaborate with program manager, product manager, R&D, Engineering, production planners, based on short-term and long-term planning and production demand to improve materials flow, implement Kanban and lean process to shorten lead-time and improve overall inventory performance (turns, DOH, Safety Stock, Cycle Stock).
- Collaborate with Purchasing team to improve procurement strategies, ensure proper replenishment strategy to meet production volume and avoid slow-moving inventory.
- Collaborate with customers and closely manage customer forecast, address engineering change orders, supply bottleneck in a timely manner to mitigate risk and ensure JIT fulfillment with customer demands.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Recent years of experience as Plant Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager
- Experience in EMS Manufacturing, Electronics, Electro-mechanical manufacturing industries strongly desired.
- Hands-on leadership experience, ability to motivate and develop people.
- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical skills, critical thinking skill and excellent communication and people skill, ability to interact with customers, supplier and cross functional teams.
- Solid experience in Lean Manufacturing Practice, Continuous Improvement, 5S/6S, certified in LSS is a plus.

+ Diagnose, repair, and maintain all packaging and support equipment to optimize efficiency and quality.
+ Conducts line changeovers and makes necessary set-up and adjustments as required by the production schedule.

+ Perform established Preventative Maintenance. Identify and correct mechanical/electrical maintenance issues found during PM process.
+ Setup and operate lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, press brakes.
+ Layout, fabricate, and install sheet metal ductwork, guards, and brackets
+ Advanced skills in oxy-acetylene, mig, tig, and stainless steel welding applications.
+ Assist Engineering on equipment installations.
+ Repair and fabricate parts as required.
+ Oil, lubricate, and check equipment and production lines.
+ Operate forklift trucks as required to move equipment or materials.
+ Assist and train team members in simple adjustments and maintenance
**What makes you a good fit**
+ High School graduate, or equivalent, or Associate degree in mechanical technology, electrical technology, or engineering science a plus.
+ Be able to train on 1st shift. 6:30 AM-2:30 PM M-F and transition once training is completed to 3rd shift hours 10:30 PM-6:30 AM Sunday-Thursday
+ Completion of a mechanical or electrical apprenticeship, or military technical training strongly preferred.
+ Advanced technical knowledge of machine shop operations, welding, mechanical/electrical maintenance principles (shafts, bearings, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, AC/DC motors, starters, contactors, three phase power, PLC's) required.
+ Ability to read blueprints, possess advanced mechanical/electrical troubleshooting skills and production maintenance work experience.
+ Initiative/motivation and communication skill required.
+ 7-plus years' mechanic experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
