Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Spear Data Mapping Specialist with functional and technical expertise to support data-driven projects. This role requires hands-on knowledge of the Spear database structure and data formats, with the ability to analyze, validate, and maintain complex datasets. The successful candidate will ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment of data to meet project and client requirements, collaborating closely with technical teams and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform data mapping, analysis, and validation activities using the Spear system.
• Review, interpret, and document data structures, mapping rules, and workflows.
• Collaborate with technical teams to ensure accurate integration of Spear database formats into system processes.
• Troubleshoot data-related issues, identify discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain well-organized documentation to support project reporting, audits, and quality assurance.
• Support functional and technical stakeholders by providing data insights and clarifications.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2–5 years of experience in data mapping, database analysis, or data integration.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field required.
• Hands-on knowledge of the Spear system, including database structure and data formats.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Eligible to work in the U.S. and pass a background check.
• Local to Brooklyn, NY, and able to support onsite work (hybrid schedule).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting federal or enterprise-level IT projects.
• Training or certifications in database management, data integration, or related areas.
• Background in transportation-related projects or systems  is preferred but not required.

• The primary goal is to define and map all fields used within the LARS application comprehensively. This includes understanding how each field is utilized across various deliverables such as extracts, correspondence, certificates, and API data feeds. Completion of this effort will be a detailed document that accurately maps all fields, ensuring that data is consistent and reliable.
• This role is designed as a 6-month engagement , during which the primary focus will be on data mapping and integrity assessment within the LARS application. Upon successful completion of the project, candidates who demonstrate proficiency in other key areas may have the opportunity to transition into another role with the HLR Application Support team and extend the engagement while contributing to system enhancements and operational support initiatives.

• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM CST

• In-person, with the potential for remote work upon completion of training and demonstrated proficiency

• Field Identification & Documentation: Identify and document all existing fields in the LARS application and analyze their usage across various deliverables.
• Data Mapping: Develop a comprehensive field map, detailing data types, relationships, dependencies, and usage guidelines.
• Data Integrity Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments to ensure data consistency, reliability, and adherence to best practices.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage HRB members, OGC/OIV staff, Pharmacy staff, EMS staff, and other end-users to understand field usage and resolve any existing data issues.

Role Summary

The Navigation application is the most used infotainment application in an electric vehicle, with a direct impact on customer range anxiety and overall EV experience. Our mission is to empower customers to confidently take any kind of adventure they wish with their EV by providing the best possible navigation experience bar none. Our navigation application sits at the nexus of multiple key initiatives from charger data to trip planning, and voice assistants.

In this role you would be helping build first of its kind experiences and setting up Android based Navigation App to scale across multiple vehicle platforms for Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Rivian navigation applications on Android OS
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product and UI/UX design teams to define application features
• Identify potential problems and resolve application bottlenecks for performance optimizations
• Debug and fix application issues before final release
• Write test code to test for quality, robustness, and functional correctness, including edge cases
• Design and implement subsequent application updates and releases

This position checks and updates both CAD maps and database attribute files with Work Order/Project designs that range in complexity from simple to moderately complex. The position checks Work Order/Project designs for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to mapping standards and notifies a designated Mapping Technician II, Senior Mapping Technician, or the Supervisor of any inconsistencies or discrepancies discovered in the designs. This position updates the network model and landbase data with corrections provided from a designated Mapping Technician II, a Senior Mapping Technician, or the Supervisor. The position transfers project design landbase information to the CAD maps and database attribute files when necessary. This position maintains the customer-to-transformer link within the mapping system. This position will learn the operation of the mapping software as well as how the mapping software interacts with AutoCAD. Performs other related work for which the employee is capable and qualified to safely perform as assigned.

AutoCAD experience is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD): $120,000.00 - $125,000.00 The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others). In addition to Base Salary, this position is eligible for a Sales Incentive Plan (SIP), which provides the opportunity to earn significant incentive compensation for achieving or exceeding your goals.

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns. Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
