Qualifications

Candidates must possess the following professional experience & qualifications:

  • Must have experience developing proposals for commercial maritime and USN projects
  • Engineering or Technical work in the maritime industry is a plus

You'll have tremendous growth potential supporting the Ports and Maritime team in Hampton Roads in the winning and delivery of complex maritime infrastructure development and coastal resilience projects from planning through construction and will have exposure to our global portfolio of projects and design resources. You will play a key role in the growth of our Mid-Atlantic Ports and Maritime practice.
As a Project Manager, you'll have responsibility to plan, staff, schedule, and budget projects while ensuring quality of work product, consistency across projects, and staff safety. You will also coordinate with subcontractors and multi-disciplinary team of engineers, planners, architects, scientists and subject matter experts to deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions to our clients. In addition to managing the project financials, delivery, and client relationship, you will also have the opportunity to work closely with our Sales team to grow our Ports and Maritime portfolio in the region and beyond and getting engaged in the pursuit and delivery of exciting, complex waterfront projects. Working together, we'll help you grow and pursue what fulfills you so that we can make impacts on the future - big and small, global and local.
The final candidate could be located in Virginia Beach, Richmond, Reston, Hampton, VA, Baltimore, MD or Silver Spring, MD. This role will involve significant time collaborating in-person with our existing Ports and Maritime team and client base in the Virginia Beach area. Relocation assistance may be provided.

- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or related Engineering
- At least 7 years of experience in the delivery and/or management of waterfront infrastructure projects
- Experience in design or design management of waterfront projects or facilities
- Ability to work with a team of local and remote multi-disciplinary engineers and subject matter experts to deliver projects and proposals
- Ability to manage the successful delivery contract documents, design basis, technical specifications, and other client deliverables
- Experience in the preparation of technical and cost proposals to deliver winning proposals
- Good communication skills and ability to interface with clients and stakeholders, both internal and external
Ideally, you'll also have:
- Master's degree in Engineering

Our Ports & Maritime team is seeking a Senior Project Manager based in the Virginia Beach area to deliver complex maritime infrastructure development and coastal resilience projects from planning through construction and will have exposure to our global portfolio of projects and design resources.

As a Senior Project Manager , youll have responsibility to plan, staff, schedule, and budget projects while ensuring quality of work product, consistency across projects, and staff safety. You will also coordinate with subcontractors and internal support staff and subject matter experts. In addition to managing the project financials, delivery, and client relationship, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our multi-disciplinary team of engineers, planners, architects, and scientists to deliver complex projects across the Hampton Roads region and beyond. You will also assist in local marketing and business development, tracking of future project opportunities, lead the preparation of proposals and participate in interviews and presentations. Working together, well help you grow and pursue what fulfills you so that we can make impacts on the future - big and small, global and local. You will play a key role in the growth of our Ports and Maritime practice in Virginia and beyond.

The final candidate could be located in Virginia Beach, Richmond, Reston or Hampton, VA. This role will involve significant time collaborating in-person with our existing Ports and Maritime team and client base in the Virginia Beach area. Relocation assistance may be provided.

Here's what you'll need

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil or related Engineering
  • At least 12 years of experience in the management of waterfront infrastructure projects
  • Experience in the design and design management of waterfront projects and facilities
  • Ability to work with a team of local and remote multi-disciplinary engineers, design managers, and subject matter experts to deliver projects and proposals
  • Ability to manage the successful delivery contract documents, design basis, technical specifications, and other client deliverables
  • Substantial experience in the preparation of technical and cost proposals to deliver winning proposals
  • Good communication skills and ability to interface with clients and stakeholders, both internal and external

Ideally, youll also have

  • Masters degree in Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License in Virginia (or ability to apply for reciprocity) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience with cost estimating and services during construction.
  • Existing client relationships with port authorities and/or other organizations involved in the development of waterfront or coastal resilience projects
