The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

**What Is the Opportunity?**
As the AVP, Marketing Strategy Lead, you will be the visionary architect of our marketing strategy, driving key actions and accountable for delivering impactful results that establish Travelers as the go-to carrier for business customers' insurance needs.
You will work to deliver positive outcomes in keeping with cross-business-unit objectives, including but not limited to, new and expanded business demand generation. As a collaborative thought leader, critical thinker, and trusted advisor, you will effectively translate the latest best practices in data-driven marketing and distribution channel engagement to concrete initiatives that business and field sales leaders will embrace and champion. The AVP will orchestrate and execute key actions for the strategy through efficient and effective partnership with both business experts and Enterprise Integrated Marketing teams.

+ Build and maintain an in-depth understanding of business plans, sales approaches, organizational structure, financials, and go-to-market approaches by being an active participant in key business, service (e.g., Claim and Risk Control) and Field sales leadership meetings, working groups and industry activities.
+ Collaborate with research and customer experience teams to define and leverage outside-in research, enhance that with independent learning through industry conferences and trade shows to inform marketing strategies with customer, agent/broker, and competitor insights.
+ Create detailed marketing strategy briefs by initiative and ensure they are translated into efficient and effective cross-channel marketing plans that include approaches to content, digital and other channels and measurement approaches.
+ Create vision for live and virtual events to maximize the impact on preference and demand among prospects and agents/brokers.
+ Leverage a clear understanding of best-in-class marketing technology solutions to collaborate effectively with relevant leaders from marketing, operations, and data teams. Drive the adoption of new marketing technology and sales capabilities across people, process, technology and data.
+ Ensure marketing and sales capabilities are aligned and support distribution engagement between field sales teams and independent agents and brokers.

**What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?**
+ Bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field, or equivalent experience.
+ 10 or more years of B2B marketing strategy experience, some of which in insurance marketing or the insurance industry is a strong plus.

**Remote:** This role is categorized as remote. This means the successful candidate may be based anywhere in the United States and is not expected to report to a GM worksite unless directed by their manager.
**Company Vehicle:** Upon successful completion of a motor vehicle report review, you will be eligible to participate in a company vehicle evaluation program, through which you will be assigned a General Motors vehicle to drive and evaluate. Note: program participants are required to purchase/lease a qualifying GM vehicle every four years unless one of a limited number of exceptions applies.
**The Role**
The Lead Data Science Statistician - AV Safety Data Analysis will drive the statistical methods used to development and evaluation of autonomous vehicle (AV) performance safety metrics ranging from straightforward to advanced machine learning outputs. This position is part of the Safety Assurance for Effective Autonomous Driving Software (SAFE-ADS) department in the Global Product Safety, System, and Certification (GPSSC) organization. The SAFE-ADS department serves as the central body for automated driving system (ADS) safety. GM's vision is zero crashes, zero emissions, and zero congestion - AV safety is at the heart of driving forward this vision. If you seek to solve complex data science challenges and see your work drive positive safety change, this role is for you.
The ideal candidate will be an expert in data science, statistical modeling, and data development across the entire data maturity curve. They will have experience in automative, safety, and/or robotic industries and understand how to integrate physics and engineering into the foundational statistical methods and approaches. The technical leader is a self-starter and comfortable solving ambiguous problems. They are passionate about data and creating valuable insights that drive continuous safety improvements and confidence in the system.
As a technical leader in the SAFE-ADS data science team, you will provide robust statistical expertise and guidance, weigh alternatives, and explain the different approaches to senior leaders. You will address safety assurance related questions related to ADS behavioral performance and validation. This role involves working with large-scale data generated by the ADS system. One of the key elements is to scale data science work and accelerating time-to-delivery in insights which requires the integration of physics and engineering principles. As a leader, you'll play a key role in defining and advancing GM's AV quantitative measurement and risk assessment efforts. Your work will contribute to enhancing and scaling our existing safety risk assessment framework and help to ensure coverage of our operational design domain, foundational components of the overall safety case that guides decision-making and drives engineering across the entire AV technology stack.
**What You'll Do (Responsibilities)**
+ Develop and standardize best practices of statistical estimations and uncertainty model for use in ADS safety risk assessment framework
+ Work with the team to develop and implement scalable ADS performance measurement solutions to help ensure safe and compliant on-road behavior and build confidence in the results
+ Use an iterative method of development to share early results, identify emerging risks, and provide ongoing guidance
+ Assess bias estimation and subsampling strategies used by system engineering
+ Support Data Engineering and Software & Services (S&S) in the develop and automate pipelines and tooling of the measurement and risk framework
+ Conduct statistical analysis to evaluate ADS driving software aggregate measures
+ Raise the bar for on-road safety by continuously improving safety and AV measurement, and developing a feedback loop for software improvements
+ Collaborate across various AV development teams, including GPSSC, S&S, Data Engineering, and Legal organizations
+ Stay up to date on industry trends and advancements in data science and AI/ML to drive innovation within the team and cross-functionally

+ M.S. degree in quantitative discipline (statistics, operations, biostatistics, econometrics, or other relevant degree.)

The Market Development Manager, Biomarker Research is responsible for developing and executing demand generation campaigns and strategy to support the growth of the Biomarker Research business in the Americas. As the successful candidate, you must have a strong scientific and business understanding of this market and be networked within the associated communities. You will act as a business owner, analyze key performance indicators, integrate them with your broader market knowledge, and arrive at impactful conclusions that explain observed business results and provide strategic directions to support commercial success. Further relying on your market knowledge and business analysis, you will develop a creative, multi-channel marketing communication strategy that drives demand, lead generation and market visibility, while maintaining relevance to external variables such as market trends and competitive positioning.
This position reports to the Senior Manager, Marketing & Business Development and is part of the Americas commercial organization located in the United States and will be fully remote.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Conceive and support the execution of creative, measurable, multi-channel outbound marketing campaigns that address the customer's buying journey and Americas commercial objectives
+ Drive participation in regional trade shows, own the creation of market-driven, strategic messaging specific to each event, and be responsible for achieving demand generation targets
+ Prepare data summaries and updates on key performance indicators, competitor strategies and market trends for commercial leadership, and develop actionable countermeasures to current and anticipated market dynamics
+ Collaborate with the regional marketing team to drive customer engagement and new customer recruitment using established and emerging marketing strategies
+ Identify and leverage effective story-telling opportunities to increase SCIEX visibility and market-share
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant scientific program (e.g. Chemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Science) or business (e.g. Marketing) field or equivalent work experience in relevant markets
+ 5+ years working in one or more relevant markets in a sales, marketing, product management, technical or scientific role, including several years of direct experience with High Performance Liquid Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry
+ Experience managing projects from inception to completion, achieving landmarks through strong leadership and collaboration with cross-functional teams
+ Demonstrable experience translating strategic direction into commercial action using data-driven approaches
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role
+ Ability to travel 40% within Canada, United States and Latin America
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
+ Market research that informs business strategy, and / or direct customer insights research
+ Advanced use of contact relationship management (CRM) software (e.g. Salesforce)
+ Advanced university degree is preferred

The salary range for this role is $110,000 - $125,000 USD. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
