Responsibilities
  • Market Analysis:
    • Monitor and analyze current market conditions, including trends, pricing, supply chain disruptions, and economic indicators that affect logistics.

    • Collaborate with operations teams to ensure that market insights are integrated into logistics strategies.
  • Market Research and Reporting:
    • Prepare, write, and edit regular internal market research publications that provide market insights, industry trends, actionable recommendations, and the latest rumors and news.
    • Develop presentations and reports to communicate findings to key stakeholders and leadership teams.
    • Stay updated with the latest industry news and developments to ensure reports reflect current market conditions.
  • Networking and Industry Engagement:
    • Build and maintain a network within the logistics and supply chain industry to stay informed of market dynamics and emerging trends.
    • Attend relevant industry conferences, webinars, and networking events to expand industry knowledge and connections.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field required.
  • 5+ years of experience in market analysis, logistics, supply chain, or a related role.
  • 3+ years of experience with strong understanding and knowledge in global and domestic logistics market and supply chain
  • Excellent research and data analysis skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; experience with market analysis tools is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience writing market reports or similar publications.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams including Samsung SDS HQ Korea.
  • May be required to work additional hours outside of regularly scheduled business hours or weekend or holidays to meet business needs

The Senior Director, Pricing & Profitability Optimization plays a critical role in enabling the business to meet and exceed our ambitious revenue and profitability objectives, while ensuring optimal price perception and value for our guests. This role leads the development and ongoing execution of our pricing and promotional strategies in support of and collaboration with Merchandising, Marketing and Operations to drive revenue growth and deliver gross margin performance across Monro’s entire retail footprint. This role is responsible for leading a team to analyze field and competitive intelligence in combination with industry and consumer trends in order to develop and operationalize effective pricing frameworks and strategies for Monro’s portfolio of automotive products and services, including day-to-day, promotional and markdown pricing. Additionally, this role is responsible for overseeing the development, adoption and effective utilization of standardized tools and processes to ensure consistency and efficiencies in pricing, analytics and reporting, and provides lead support in meeting the overall revenue and gross profit objectives of the business. This role will embrace a smart approach to testing and learning at scale by successfully blending strong financial acumen, strategic foresight and marketplace intuition with rigorous quantitative and analytical skills in order to identify and unlock new and/or under-utilized revenue and profit improvement opportunities. This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President, Merchandising.

Compensation :  The salary range for this role is $160,000 - $180,000 annually.  This role is eligible for additional compensation and incentives.  Pay will be determined based on experience level.

Essential Functions:

Pricing Strategy Development & Implementation

  • Lead the development and ongoing refinement of Monro’s retail pricing strategy, ensuring that effective use of market data, competitive intelligence, and cost information to optimize revenue and profitability.
  • Lead the implementation and operationalization of Monro’s refreshed pricing strategy, working closely with cross-functional business partners in Merchandising, Marketing, Store Operations and Finance to ensure consistent and sustainable execution across all product and service categories and retail locations.
  • Partner with Merchandising & Category Management to ensure category and merchandising strategies include optimal price positions for products to achieve sales, margin and inventory efficiency targets.
  • Embrace smart experimentation to test new pricing actions, price strategies and promotional pricing, ensuring that all actions are rigorously measured and evaluated to determine how best to adjust and optimize actions going forward to meet the desired objectives.
  • Develop and deploy standard processes and tools for executing the company’s pricing strategy at scale

Pricing & Promotions Execution

  • Create models to assess price elasticity and identify opportunities to optimize pricing to increase profitability. 
  • Oversee the ongoing analysis and decisioning for market-level product pricing
  • Partner with Marketing and Merchandising teams to assess and determine promotional pricing levels to achieve campaign targets.
  • Continuously measure and analyze price-value perception, as well as revenue and profit capture to identify and address areas of opportunity.
  • Own the process of developing pricing programs, supporting such proposals with internal and external analytics, and ensure effective implementation working with cross-functional teams.
  • Partner effectively with Merchandising and vendors to influence product costs and maintain up-to-date cost and price files.
  • Identify sources of margin leakage and erosion across the business, and partner with relevant cross-functional organizations to implement targeted actions to reduce margin loss.
  • Develop and deploy process to evaluate and decision price change requests from cross-functional partners, including retail stores and finance, to ensure pricing actions are effective
  • Conduct pre and post measurement of pricing actions and promotions to determine effectiveness and adjust pricing actions as needed

Market, Consumer & Competitive Intelligence

  • Work with IT, data analytics team and third-party vendors to develop and maintain market analysis to assess pricing strategy against industry data to identify market opportunity. 
  • Analyze data or insights to determine industry and consumer trends
  • Extensive experience in understanding consumer needs; determine how we can better effect pricing strategies to improve across all categories
  • Ability to work in a retail environment and identify opportunities and solutions.
  • Liaise with marketing teams to determine competitive promotional activities of a product category.

Forecasting & Reporting

  • Develop and provide timely reporting and updates to Senior Management on a regular basis, comparing costs, impact, and service level improvements.
  • Partner with Merchandising & Finance to develop accurate demand, revenue and profitability forecasts, taking into account pricing actions and promotions

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of pricing managers and analysts, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Effectively manage and integrate both onshore and offshore team members, ensuring collaboration, clear communication, performance accountability and aligned priorities
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and professional development opportunities to enhance team capabilities and support career growth
  • Align team structure and roles with business needs, continuously evaluating and evolving resource models to optimize productivity and impact.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
  • 12 or more years providing pricing strategy and analysis in a retail environment
  • Demonstrated success in designing and implementing pricing strategies and quantitative tools across diverse markets and product lines in a retail environment
  • Experience in pricing organization design and process, including developing KPIs
  • Highly skilled at establishing and maintaining data analytics systems and other pricing tools  
  • Experience selecting, implementing and driving adoption of pricing tools and systems
  • Proven experience as pricing Director/Leader, or similar role
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, including knowledge of P&L drivers and cost structures
  • Highly skilled at working with cross-functional, complex project management
  • Excellent team management skills, both in-person and remote managing onsite and remote
  • Experience presenting to executive teams
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and change focus quickly to meet business needs in a fast-paced environment.

The Senior Counsel, Commercial, US Market Access will provide expert advice and counseling to the business on a variety of strategic and tactical projects within a highly regulated environment across the US commercial business units. This position will report to the Vice President, Legal Commercial and will require working in a matrix setting in a fast paced, rapidly growing organization and will partner with various stakeholders, including with colleagues across the Commercial Legal team, as well as Commercial, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Ethics & Compliance, Privacy and other expertise areas at Alnylam. In addition, the person in this role will regularly confer with peer counsel for US Patient Services and US Strategic Accounts. The ideal candidate will have significant experience counseling prescription drug companies on legal issues relating to market access, government pricing, medical and pharmacy benefit coverage, contracting, federal and state laws impacting pricing and access, antitrust, state pricing transparency, and patient assistance.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Legal Counseling

  • Serve as legal business partner to the commercial organization (in particular US Market Access), to provide pragmatic, solutions-oriented, proactive counseling in the development and execution of market access, product pricing and payer contracting strategies for established and newly launched marketed products in the US.
  • Advise on: Distribution, trade, and channel strategy across specialty pharmacies, distributors, wholesalers, GPOs, and PBMs; Coverage and reimbursement strategies under Medicare Parts B and D, Medicaid, and Veterans Health Care Act; Governing pricing matters, such as requirements and compliance with Medicaid Drug Rebate Programs (MDRPs) including impact to Average Manufacturer Price (AMP), Best Price and other price reporting calculations, and PHS 340B program; Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) contract, including annual negotiation of FSS prices and reporting in compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs) and the Veterans Health Care Act
  • Counsel day-to-day for market access clients, including review of certain promotional materials, training materials, statements of work, and other contracts.
  • Counsel key stakeholders on legal, regulatory, and policy developments such as Inflation Reduction Act, 340B Pricing Programs, contract disputes with PBMs on rebate liabilities, fraud and abuse, privacy, government price reporting and antitrust. Responsibilities may also include advice on Alnylam global value and market access strategies.

Contracting & Transactional Support

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of market access-related agreements, including: PBM, GPO, wholesaler, specialty pharmacy, and distribution contracts.
  • Discount, rebate, value-based and risk-sharing agreements; and Vendor agreements support market access, distribution, and patient support operations.
  • Ensure all agreements comply with applicable healthcare laws, internal polices and government pricing requirements.
  • Advise business on payer customer disputes and resolution.

Regulatory & Compliance Guidance

  • Provide counsel on state and federal laws and regulations impacting market access operations, including: Anti-kickback Statute, False Claims Act, OIG Guidance, PhRMA Code, and state drug pricing transparency laws.
  • Assist with government price reporting audits and related processes.
  • Assist with any Market Access-related audits (e.g., government price reporting).
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of internal policies, SOPs, and training programs to mitigate compliance risks.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate legal support by contributing as a member of cross-functional team and interacting with business and law department colleagues on various matters such as: Advising on the development, design and implementation of Alnylam's patient support services and programs (e.g., Alnylam Assist) across all of Alnylam's portfolio, which includes 4 currently marketed products in the United States, new product entrants and indications, and relevant agreements with third party vendors; and Analyzing market access intiatives, advisory board proposals, and patient support services to ensure that client operations comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies, including Anti-kickback Statute and other US healthcare compliance laws and regulations, antitrust, and FDA requirements.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Collaborate with other Alnylam lawyers across the broader legal department and as a member of cross-functional teams to ensure that advice and risk-tolerance is consistent, clear and implemented accordingly.
  • Stay abreast of evolving healthcare legislation and regulations, and the enforcement landscape.
  • Educate colleagues of all relevant legal and regulatory requirements and legal developments in their areas of business by developing and providing training and periodic updates.
  • As a member of the Commercial Legal Team, actively contribute to the legal function by building a positive culture, fostering engagement, sharing best practices and participating in initiatives focused on building departmental and functional knowledge and competencies.
  • Mentor junior legal staff.
  • Additional responsibilities, as assigned, and as the organization evolves.

Qualifications

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school; member in good standing of a state bar and ability to obtain MA in-house counsel license if not barred in MA with 10 years of relevant post-JD experience advising on legal matters in a life sciences space, whether in a law firm, in-house in the biopharmaceutical industry, or both
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including relevant contract drafting and redlining skills, and presentation capabilities

  • Deep experience working with Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), hospital systems, and specialty distribution networks
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently manage outside counsel and adhere to a budget
  • Acting with high integrity and a demonstrated ability to treat confidential information with great discretion
