The Role

We are seeking a Data Scientist to bridge the worlds of real estate acquisitions and data science. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in multifamily commercial real estate, including building pro formas, analyzing deals, and leveraging market intelligence from sources such as CoStar, Yardi Matrix, and RealPage Market Analytics. The successful candidate will apply those skills to build innovative data-driven products for investors.

As part of the ApartmentIQ Invest Pro team, you will work closely with leadership, product, and engineering to design and deliver new features that make multifamily investment insights more actionable. This is an opportunity to help shape how institutional investors access and evaluate multifamily market data while building the next of investment tools.

Responsibilities

  • Research and experiment with multifamily datasets to identify opportunities for new product features and insights.
  • Partner with product managers and engineers to define requirements and design data-driven capabilities for ApartmentIQ Invest Pro.
  • Translate acquisitions workflows into scalable tools and features for institutional investors.
  • Apply large models (LLMs) and other AI techniques to accelerate research, automate workflows, and unlock new insights from structured and unstructured market data.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on multifamily acquisitions, ensuring the product reflects real-world investor needs.
  • Create clear documentation, dashboards, and analyses to communicate findings and product opportunities.
  • Stay current on multifamily industry trends, data sources, AI/ML advances, and investment methodologies.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in multifamily commercial real estate, with a strong background in underwriting, deal analysis, and pro forma modeling.
  • Proven experience using key market data sources such as CoStar, Yardi Matrix, or RealPage Market Analytics.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with proficiency in SQL.
  • Experience applying large models (LLMs) or AI/ML techniques to accelerate research, automate analysis, or extract insights from data.
  • Familiarity with modern data science practices, including model building, experimentation, and validation.
  • Experience collaborating across teams (investment, product, engineering, data science).
  • Strong business acumen and ability to translate investor workflows into product features.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex data insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: comfortable in a fast-paced, product-building environment.

What you’ll do:

  • Communicating and understanding the voice of the consumer to the organization.
  • Utilize several data sources to create and support selling strategies relevant to our product and customer mix.
  • This position will be working with sales partners, product managers, and leadership to assist in building sales stories that start with the voice of the consumer and lead to actionable solutions to the organization.

What you need to succeed:

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program, preferably Marketing, business, economics or another related degree.
  • Must have at least two years (4 semesters remaining in school upon start date.   (May 2028 grads or later).
  • Ability to work 20 hours/week during the school year and 40 hours/week during the summer.
  • Ability to work year-round at Schreiber’s home office in Green Bay, WI.
  • Ability to multitask, and prioritize work, which comes in from various partners.
  • Ability to analyze information and display strong attention to detail.
