We are in a growth phase and seeking a marketing leader who can extend and accelerate that momentum by building a demand generation engine that consistently fills the pipeline with hospital and provider executives.


Position Overview


The Director of Marketing, Demand Generation will lead Avant-garde’s marketing strategy with a singular focus: generating qualified leads from hospitals, health systems, and ASCs. This role is about creating a pipeline through executive engagement, event-driven marketing, and multi-channel campaigns.


The ideal candidate has a proven track record of reaching and influencing healthcare executives (CEOs, CFOs, CMOs, COOs, and service line leaders) and can translate strategy into measurable lead generation results. This is a leadership position responsible for overseeing and building out the marketing team, reporting directly to the executive team and working in close partnership with sales, product, and customer success.


Key Responsibilities


  • Drive Pipeline Growth – Build and execute demand generation campaigns that consistently deliver qualified executive leads from hospitals, health systems, and ASCs.
  • Lead Conference Strategy – Own pre-conference outreach, on-site presence, and post-event engagement to maximize ROI from industry events.
  • Engage Healthcare Executives – Design marketing initiatives that resonate with CEOs, CFOs, CMOs, and other senior decision-makers.
  • Run Multi-Channel Campaigns – Manage webinars, ABM programs, email, and digital channels to acquire and nurture leads.
  • Measure & Optimize – Track KPIs across campaigns and events, report impact on pipeline, and continuously improve outcomes.
  • Collaborate Across Teams – Partner with sales, product, and customer success to align marketing with company goals and ensure consistent execution.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in marketing, communications, or public health a plus.
  • Minimum 4–6 years of B2B marketing experience, with at least 3 years directly focused on healthcare provider organizations.
  • Demonstrated success in engaging hospital and ASC executives and driving measurable pipeline growth.
  • Experience in digital health, SaaS, or healthcare technology strongly preferred.
  • Expertise with HubSpot and familiarity with Definitive Healthcare, ZoomInfo, and other marketing intelligence platforms.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to think strategically and execute tactically.


Location & Travel


  • Boston, MA preferred. Outstanding remote candidates will be considered.
  • Travel approximately 15–25% of the year for conferences, client-facing events, and internal off-sites.

We are searching for the best talent for a Director, Global Strategic Marketing.

Purpose: The Director GSM – High Risk PCI & STEMI will have shared accountability for managing strategic planning and pipeline project activities to achieve the business plan and accelerate future growth of the Heart Recovery business.  This role will also align and drive execution of clear and actionable Global Marketing, Society Engagement and Professional Education strategies in support of the overall platform strategy.  Success is achieved by executing a consistent global growth strategy and driving the tactics / initiatives set forth by the strategy, in close partnership with regional marketing, commercial and sales teams around the world.  The Director GSM – High Risk PCI & STEMI will be a member of the Cardiology Platform Leadership Team.  This role will have direct responsibility for creating and driving marketing and innovation strategies and key initiatives for Heart Recovery with the High-Risk PCI and STEMI disease states, to achieve commercial and business goals / objectives in line with HCC & CREDO Values.   

You will be responsible for:

  • Achieve annual business plan targets while maintaining long term growth through strategic Marketing planning & execution including new product introduction, portfolio management, brand management, KOL engagement, and pricing.  

  • Reinforce Marketing organization capability, efficacy, and efficiency through people development, organization management and operational leadership.  

  • Partner with appropriate business functions (e.g. regional Marketing, R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Operations, HEMA) to execute the innovation pipeline and deliver innovation-based growth for both near term and long-term strategies.   

  • Develop and manage a comprehensive product portfolio roadmap that addresses global unmet needs and growth opportunities through VOC, VOB, and VOF.  

  • Inform commercial strategy by executing a holistic learning plan to aid in definition of segmentation, targeting, value proposition, product positioning, branding, messaging, claims, pricing, campaign concepts, and sales effectiveness. 

  • Establish new strategic marketing and branding competencies, defining Abiomed’s global brand identity, positioning, messaging and core creative; ensuring consistent execution across regions. 

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic Society Engagement and Professional Education Plan, aligned with the organization’s strategy, goals and objectives. 

  • Develop close working relationships with Global Key Customers (Interventional Cardiologists, Heart Failure doctors, Cardiac Surgeons, Critical Care, etc.) to develop in-depth insights of unmet needs, cultivate external relationships and validate & strengthen marketing strategies.   

  • Maintain global market forecast by Area/Country and market segment and partner with global operations teams to ensure supply continuity with forecast accuracy of +/- 5%. 

  • Manage budget within constraints and measuring effectiveness initiatives relative to delivering business objectives.   

Qualifications/Requirements:    

  • 10+ years of Global Marketing and/or Product Management medical device and/or medical technology experience is required, holding progressive business strategy roles. 

  • 7+ years of experience leading global product launches, including creation / definition of market landscape and competitive, segments and targets positioning, value proposition, messaging, core creative concept, market access/reimbursement strategy, and are required. 

  • Experience collaborating across key functions-- Research & Development, Product Management, Sales, Professional / Commercial Education, Finance and other core teams. 

  • Demonstrated leadership ability to successfully work across functional and geographic boundaries, spanning multiple countries/market types/healthcare models are required. 

  • Demonstrated success effectively managing resources and investments to maximize impact, including leading teams to strong business and portfolio recommendations based on sound, insightful, quantified decision-making frameworks is required. 

  • Experience applying digital trends and emerging technology to drive new business strategies and innovation. 

  • Analytical and strategic thinker, able to combine data and intuition when building and executing a strategic plan. 

  • Comfort with ambiguity; demonstrated ability to take ownership of problems, exercise sound judgment and independently determine appropriate course of action where precedent may not exist 

  • End to end value chain experience, including P&L management required. 

  • Previous medical device / medical technology and Cardiology (Heart Recovery) experience is preferred.  

  • Motivator of self and others to achieve challenging goals and objectives with a track record of executional successes based on integrity and consistency in achieving business goals and objectives.   

  • Consistent track record of developing talent, including deep pipelines and strong leadership teams  

  • Up to 50% global travel is required 

  • The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs.  Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan.  The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year.  Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
