Blue Cliff College is seeking a Massage Therapy Instructor. The instructor will perform various duties to teach massage, bodywork/therapy, therapeutic massage, or other therapies involving manipulation of muscle and connective tissues in the classroom and lab, using diverse teaching methods such as lectures, demonstrations, and audiovisual aids to enhance presentations.
Job Duties
- Instruct students on the use, maintenance, and safe operation of tools and equipment, as well as codes and regulations related to the Massage Therapy Program.
- Teach students the significance of accuracy, neatness, efficiency, resourcefulness, and good work habits for employment as Massage Therapists.
- Assign lessons, correct homework, and administer tests to evaluate students' technical knowledge and practical skills.
- Maintain records of daily attendance and student progress, reporting to the Lead Instructor and Registrar.
- Present subject matter using a variety of methods and techniques, ensuring organized use of classroom time and effective instruction and clean-up within the allotted time.
- Enforce classroom protocols, rules, and regulations; maintain discipline and utilize effective classroom management techniques.
- Prepare course syllabi for each course taught.
- Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment.
- Capability to multitask and prioritize competing demands.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Effective interaction with students, peers, and the community.
- Professional integrity and discretion in the workplace.
- Massage Therapy licensure through the applicable state board.
- Minimum of three (3) years of practical work experience as a massage therapist.
- Possession of at least 15 semester credit hours in college-level science-related coursework a plus (Anatomy & Physiology preferred).
- Teaching or training experience (preferred but not required).

Overview
Responsible for performing all esthetic services (including all facials and waxing services) for guests and members of the Spa. Responsible for communicating and transcribing all information regarding guest medical history, services performed, skin analysis and product recommendations into the Spa Computer System.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet guests and members in a professional, friendly manner.
- Select the appropriate spa treatments based on the client's needs after reviewing the client intake form with each guest.
- Perform spa treatments within the scope of training and utilizing draping protocols.
- Complete accurate and legible client intake notes.
- Create an excellent experience for guests and members through a therapeutic touch and friendly attitude.
- Promote the health and wellness benefits of spa treatments specific to each client and recommend frequency of services.
- Safeguard client information and confidentiality.
- Execute professional boundaries and do not engage in dual relationships with clients.
- Maintain a professional clean appearance of self and clinic by wearing a clean and pressed uniform, following the table dressing and draping protocols, and keeping the therapy room clean.
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Current state cosmetology or Esthetician's license.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years' experience in esthetics.
- In-depth knowledge of the latest esthetic industry techniques, equipment, services, and products.
- Willing to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality regarding guests and staff.
- Customer service oriented and able to communicate effectively with clients, clinic management, fellow therapists, and sales staff.
- Ability to lift, bend, stoop, walk, push carts up to 50lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.

**Job Summary:**
Responsible for providing spa guests with safe and effective massage and various therapy services while consistently exceeding guest expectations. Demonstrates respect, sensitivity and concern for guest's needs in a professional manner. Maintains and monitors work schedules as booked, exercising dependability and willingness to work with schedule flexibility. Upholding company standards of conduct, grooming, dress, and personal hygiene. Perform daily routine of set-up and break-down procedures of massage rooms; maintains a neat and well-stocked room. Have complete knowledge of all spa services, packages, promotions, and retail products presently offered by the spa. Maintains professional relationships with spa clientele. Complies with all resort policies, procedures and standards of operation. Performs any additional tasks or projects as required.

+ If hired into a tipped position, guaranteed to make a minimum of 20 / hour inclusive of tips

**Job Responsibilities:**
+ Have complete knowledge of all spa services, packages, promotions, and retail products presently offered by the spa.
+ Maintains professional relationships with spa clientele.
+ Educate guests about products used and recommend products for home use
+ Begin and end all treatments on time, adhering to the appointment book and guest scheduling.
+ Keep work areas clean and treatment rooms organized according to standards.
+ Have knowledge of and suggest to guests other beneficial treatments offered in the spa.
+ Complete client product cards after each body treatment.
+ Understand and use universal precautions and sanitary procedures.
+ Maintain storage areas to ensure cleanliness, freshness, and organization.
+ Frequent checks of equipment and facility to ensure safety and prevent loss of equipment.
+ Attend departmental meetings as scheduled by spa management and/or resort management.
+ Be familiar with all resort services/ features and local attractions to respond to guest inquiries.
+ Complies with all Resort policies, procedures, and standards of operation.
+ Other duties as assigned.
**Job Requirements:**
+ High School diploma or equivalent. -required
+ Colorado State massage therapy license. -required
+ Familiar with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook. -required
+ Ability to effectively present detailed information both verbally and in written form to guests and employees throughout the organization. -required
+ Must be willing to work weekends and holidays. -required
+ Must be able to stand for long periods of time. -required
+ College Degree in hospitality or business-related field. -preferred
+ A minimum of 2 years experience in the Medical, Salon, or Spa industry. -preferred
+ Conversational Spanish or other languages helpful. -preferred
+ Ability to lift 30 lbs. -preferred.
The expected pay range is 20/ hr - 25.01/ hr + tips/commission. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
