Position Summary:
Under minimal supervision, performs diagnostic, service, and installation of plumbing in residential and light-commercial environments. Holds master plumbing and/or gas license as required by governmental regulations. Ensures that work is performed in accordance with relevant codes. Assembles, installs, or repairs pipes, fittings, or fixtures of heating, water, or drainage systems in accordance to specifications and plumbing codes. Communicates with customer to answer questions, resolves problems, and ensures complete customer satisfaction. Promotes products and services to customer. Works under the direction of the Field Supervisor or General Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
· Analyzes, diagnoses, and resolves customer problems in a courteous, professional, timely, and accurate manner. Identifies potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or callbacks.
· Maintains and repairs plumbing systems carrying water, steam, chemicals and fuel in heating, cooling, lubricating and other process piping systems by replacing defective washers, replacing or mending broken pipes, or opening clogged drains. Repairs or replaces plumbing fixtures; test joints and pipe systems for leaks, open clogged drains, measure, cut, thread, bend, ream and install pipe and pipe fittings. Inspects high pressure, air, steam, water and gas systems to ascertain malfunctions.
· Assembles pipe sections, tubing, or fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing, or welding equipment. Weld small pipes or special piping, using specialized techniques, equipment, or materials, such as computer-assisted welding or microchip fabrication.
· Locates and marks the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes, or fixtures in structures, using measuring instruments such as rulers or levels, and cuts openings
· Installs pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances such as dishwashers or water heaters, or fixtures such as sinks or toilets, using hand or power tools. Anchors steel supports from ceiling joists to hold pipes in place. Cuts openings in structures to accommodate pipes or pipe fittings, using hand or power tools.
· Measures, cuts, threads, or bends pipe to required angle, using hand or power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines, or pipe-bending machines
· Installs underground storm, sanitary, or water piping systems, extending piping as needed to connect fixtures and plumbing
· Reviews blueprints, building codes, or specifications to determine work details or procedures. Interprets drawings and specifications to determine layout requirements. Studies building plans and inspect structures to assess material and equipment needs, to establish the sequence of pipe installations, and to plan installation around obstructions such as electrical wiring.
· Fills pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks
· Directs helpers engaged in pipe cutting, preassembly, or installation of plumbing systems or components
· Ensures company property, vehicles, and tools are being used, maintained and properly accounted for
· Maintains current plumbing and/or gas license in accordance with governmental regulations
· Following standard procedures and process, ensures that the company vehicle is properly stocked, returns defective warranty parts to branch, and orders/replenishes vehicle stock as needed
· Represents the company professionally, honestly, and ethically in all business matters and activities
· Performs similar/other duties as needed or assigned
Qualifications :
· High school diploma or equivalent with on-the-job and formal classroom training in plumbing work in construction, maintenance, commercial, and residential environments
· Seven years’ experience in plumbing repair, maintenance, and installation in addition to on-the-job training
· Plumbing and/or gas license as required by local, state, provincial, or national governmental regulations
· EPA and safety certifications required
· Current knowledge of and continuing education in national, state, and local plumbing code regulations
· Proficient mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate all necessary tools and equipment to perform various plumbing projects
· Knowledge of machines and tools used in the construction or repair of houses, buildings and other structures. This knowledge includes the machine and tools design, uses, repairs, and maintenance.
· Working proficiency in basic mathematics and metric and standard measurements
· Proficient at reading wiring diagrams and troubleshooting problems with plumbing systems and equipment
· Effective communication skills to communicate with customer and resolve customer issues, complaints, or concerns
· Effective and efficient time-management and organizational skills
· Familiar with the HVAC industry is preferred
· Must be willing to train new plumbers in technical skills and company procedures
· Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
· Available to work flexible hours and on-call shifts as needed
· Ability to stand and walk and to climb ladders and attic stairs and to maneuver in attics, basements, and crawl spaces. Ability to continually climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.
· Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions, including but not limited to the following: hot, cold, outdoor, indoor, dry, humid, slippery surfaces, heights, and congested areas
· Ability to safely climb 300lb load capacity rated ladders
· Natural or corrected vision to see and focus for close, distance, peripheral vision with normal depth perception

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Master Plumber is responsible for all plumbing systems within the facility to include the installation, repair and preventative maintenance of service piping and associated equipment. Performs master-level work installing, repairing, maintaining and fabricating materials for plumbing systems throughout the facility. Comprehends and translates construction blueprints and change orders; adheres to department, local and national codes; estimates materials needed for projects; acts as lead worker on all plumbing assignments and projects within the facility; inventories, recommends and stocks parts needed to perform duties; operates applicable hospital equipment.
PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.
2. *Obtains all plumbing permits for facility per City of Lincoln requirements; maintains professional relationship with plumbing contractors and inspectors.
3. *Maintains construction specification manuals and coordinates all phases of plumbing construction with general contractors, subcontractors and in-house personnel; provides recommendations and information regarding current facility plumbing systems, departmental needs related to service provision/safety expectations, and internal/external relationships with other facility and user systems.
4. *Regularly inspects connections and maintains natural gas, medical gases, water, air, waste disposal and heating and cooling systems throughout the facility to ensure proper operation.
5. *Installs, constructs, repairs and maintains building systems and equipment in accordance with departmental, local, state and federal codes/guidelines.
6. *Performs various construction tasks to meet departmental standards for new, remodeled or repaired plumbing systems; installs, replaces and re-routes piping for back flow systems, medical gases, water, waste and heating and cooling systems; installs back flow devices and tamper valves for fire water systems.
7. *Conducts biannual fire pump tests; maintains logs, records and reports as required by regulatory agencies for routine work and preventative maintenance.
8. Detects malfunctioning equipment before damage occurs; utilizes information within manufacturer's manuals, troubleshooting techniques and preventative maintenance schedules to repair and maintain equipment and building systems; cares for tools and equipment.
9. *Responds to all maintenance service requests for plumbing or related repair; installs and repairs pipes, fittings and fixtures; estimates the cost of installation or repair work.
10. Collaborates with facility/departmental personnel, contractors, subcontractors and regulatory representatives to ensure existing and proposed plumbing equipment/systems meet user, building specifications and regulatory requirements.
11. Requisitions pipes and fittings; maintains inventory of appropriate tool and supply items.
12. *Installs, troubleshoots, repairs and replaces auxiliary equipment including steam traps, humidifiers, pressure-reducing valves, condensate pumps, medical air compressors/vacuum pumps and alarms systems.
13. *Utilizes various maintenance techniques to weld, fabricate and repair equipment such as soldering and brazing.
14. Maintains computerized controlled systems, ie: pneumatic tube system, fire alarm system and nurse call system.
15. Acts as lead plumber on all skilled assignments; provides direction, support and mentoring to other maintenance personnel regarding plumbing systems and related equipment.
16. Writes and updates preventative maintenance operating procedures and schedules for appropriate equipment and systems.
17. Follows facility and professional work procedures to ensure personal, coworker and patient/visitor safety.
18. Attends classes to expand and maintain proficiency on assigned equipment and systems; advances work knowledge by participating in continuing education, reading periodicals/reference books and seeking ongoing developmental opportunities.
19. Enters restricted access areas, without supervision, to perform assigned work.
20. Responds to snow emergencies when needed.

Minimum four (4) years experience in a mechanical trade including plumbing, refrigeration or general machine work required. Possession of Medical Gas System Installer Certification preferred. Possession of Water Operator Grade VI Certification through State of Nebraska preferred.
OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS:
Valid State of Nebraska Driver's license required. Verification and maintenance of responsible driving record per facility standards required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

JOB SUMMARY
A lead or junior plumber serves the clients of the company by expertly servicing, repairing, and replacing plumbing systems.
JOB DUTIES
- Utilizes Straight Forward Pricing (including all company approved forms) correctly on each call
- Wears floor savers while in the client's home and maintains a neat work area while performing a repair or scheduled service
- Tests each aspect of the job before leaving a home to make sure everything is working properly. Ensures the job was indeed completed correctly and eliminates unnecessary callbacks after the job is finished
- Explains each service performed to the client each time a maintenance or repair is completed. Ensures clients are 100% satisfied with all work
- Conveys a safety-conscious attitude, both on the job and while driving
- Maintains cleanliness inside and outside of vehicles at all times
- Junior Plumbers are considered training/apprentice level and typically do not operate their own truck
- Lead/Master Plumbers are considered senior level and typically operate their own truck
- Lead & Junior Plumbers must have applicable certifications and licensing required by their state of residence
Compensation: $65,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year

Minimum high school education
Current master plumber license issued by the City of Jackson
Valid Mississippi motor vehicle operator's license
Five years experience in the maintenance and installation of gas-fired equipment, water distribution, and drainage systems
Must maintain an operational residence telephone
Must be insurable by district insurance carrier
Applicant must submit to and pass drug screening test as outlined by district policy.

Any journeyman plumber or trades helper assigned to department - may be assigned supervision of the plumbing department in the absence of department foreman
Essential Functions
Performs plumbing assignments as requested by supervisor through daily job tickets
Maintains all plumbing in assigned school zone and performs maintenance measures to eliminate future major repairs
Exercises proper safety precautions during the performance of daily job assignments
Maintains adequate records of work performed
Replaces existing equipment and installs new equipment when required
Assists members of the department and members of other departments as needed
Responds to calls after hours when needed
Performs other related duties as requested or assigned

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.

- Comprehensive knowledge of multiple Plumbing systems applications: Waste and Vent, Storm, Domestic Water, Compressed Air, Condensate Drain, Natural Gas, Process Utilities, Fixtures and Pumps.
- Comprehensive knowledge of multiple Plumbing material applications: Steel/carbon pipe, Copper Pipe, PVC/PCV pipe, Poly Pipe applications, Stainless Steel pipe and Aluminum pipe.
- Receives direct supervision and performs technical responsibilities.
- Coordinates own tasks with a specific range of responsibilities under established procedures.
- Contributes to a team under general supervision of an experienced professional or manager.
- Skilled specialist that demonstrates reliable judgment in resolving issues and making recommendations.
- Promote a positive learning environment in mentoring and directing of apprentices.
