Content Platforms & Operations is responsible for the development and ongoing advancement of the technical and operational functions driving the worldwide distribution and monetization of Disney's linear networks and theatrical content. This includes Disney's media supply chain and storage, network and theatrical distribution operations, media localization, network transmission and origination, and more. The global team also plays a critical role as the primary collaboration point for Product & Technology with Disney's EMEA, APAC, and LATAM regional business teams.
The Mastering department is responsible for the mastering of all titles produced by 20th Television, ABC Signature Studios, Freeform, FX Productions, Disney Branded Television, Hulu, and other production entities, including content acquired for Disney+ and Hotstar. The Mastering department liaises with studios, production companies, post-production, third party audio and QC vendors to acquire, QC, prepare and transform both preliminary and final materials for localization, servicing, and global archival purposes. The Mastering department is the gateway between production and consumption of over 300 television series enjoyed by global audiences on multiple platforms including Disney+, Hulu, Hotstar, FX, ABC Network, Disney Channels, and Freeform.
**Job Summary:**
The Manager Distribution Operations' primary responsibility is to ensure their direct reports (Mastering Professionals) are adhering to Mastering SOPs and communicating effectively. The Manager will also be a subject matter expert on specific brands (ABC Currents/ABC News/ABC Alternative/Freeform), leading discussions and initiatives pertinent to those brands. Managers in Distribution Ops are expected to be experts at managing meetings, leading and communicating on priorities relevant to their brand, and sending a weekly report to the Director and Senior Manager. Often called upon to work together to help us improve processes and systems, Managers aim to operationalize daily to "work smarter not harder", make use of metrics initiatives to improve operations, and ultimately ensure the best consumer experience possible. Managers assist in vendor management by leading our weekly meetings and requesting Root Cause Analysis/Preventative Actions through our CASE system. Managers must also identify the difference between a scaled/operationalized process/decision tree and exception management - and elevate the latter to leadership accordingly.
**Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:**
+ Managing team and mentoring team's scaled-process work within Disney systems for orders, post schedule management, agendas, as well as weekly leadership reports. Developing team's talent and skillset as well as expectations of performance
+ Vendor Management: reviewing QC reports and issues to ensure vendor and ensuring assets are delivered in on time to the right specification. Reviewing vendor performance metrics against SLAs and established timelines.
+ Title Management: ensure challenging, exceptional and new workflows for titles are managed partnering with direct reports to manage admin and document new workflows
**Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:**
+ Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
+ Minimum of 8 years working in Post-Production, Mastering, or related area of distribution
+ Minimum of 3 years of managing a team of professional-level employees
+ Has experienced level understanding of the motion picture post-production process (asset creation, mastering and QC) and technical delivery requirements (ProRes, IMF, Audio); in addition to documentation and timed-text
+ Familiarity with and/or affinity for Disney Branded television, ABC & Freeform brands and products

The hiring range for this position in California is $103,500 to $138,800 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The Media Operator will report into the Hulu Mastering & Ops vertical within the TV Mastering team. The specific role will be part of the Media Asset Prep team responsible for quick edit, fixes, file replacements and transcoding media. The Media Operator will work in a 365 department within Disney Mastering.
**Job Summary:**
The Mastering Media Operator II is responsible for ingest, media prep, asset conformance, editorial, troubleshooting file issues, fixing assets, and asset validation. This role will focus on conforming masters in preparation for creation of outputs including but not limited to IMF, ProRes, Timed Text and downstream deliverables. The Media Operator will need to understand color workflows and deriving SDR content from HDR as well as how to validate and confirm color profiles, transfer characteristics, and metadata.
The right person for this role has working experience in all manner of media operations, encoding, transcoding, asset validation and post production workflows. They should have a good understanding of technical aspects of audio and video media incoming from production as well as network and streaming specifications. They should be highly motivated, someone who thrives in a quick paced environment, is flexible with changing priorities and adapts quickly to new challenges.
Finally, the Media Operator will need to excel in cross-team collaboration, is highly organized, and has strong communication skills to be part of a team responsible for bringing in content into Disney.
**Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:**
+ Perform the processing and management of media assets in a results-driven environment
+ Media Prep for OTT, Streaming and necessary downstream destinations
+ Make editorial updates to final files for compliance with network specs;
+ Insert updated shots or updated credits
+ Perform audio loudness measurements to ensure correct specs
+ Review and derive timed text files for final distribution
+ Receive and Send media via Aspera or other cloud-based delivery mechanisms
+ Help to troubleshoot issues with files and recommend fixes
+ Perform metadata validation and entry including segment timings to create broadcast automation database records
+ Be a subject matter expert in all department databases and software
+ Collaborate with team members as part of a high functioning team that is able to effectively and efficiently execute assignments

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $160,000 to $276,000 USD.

Position Summary

Audio Engineer

The primary role of this position is to be the lead audio engineer for the Classroom AV Services department. As part of the Engineering Team of Classroom AV Services, this position will work to research, design, and deploy audio solutions that meet the needs of the spaces serviced by Classroom AV Services. This position will act as the main DSP programmer for the department and ensure that all audio systems are of peak quality at all times. This position will assist in the installation of AV systems with a focus on the audio solutions of the project. The audio solutions in question could be installed or portable and include DSPs, microphones, amplifiers, speakers, source audio, and conferencing audio. This position will be the main audio technician for any live events supported by the department including the Board of Visitors meetings. This position will act as a Tier 3 Technician to Tier 1 and 2 support staff for the department. As such, this position will troubleshoot any issues reported by those staff and find a resolution to the issue ASAP. Should the issue be related to product failure, the person in this position will be responsible for swapping out the faulty product with a working unit and testing the system for full functionality. All issues and work performed should be tracked within the department's ticketing system. Further, any product inventory updates should be reflected in the department's asset management solution.

Required Qualifications

Several years experience in the AV industry
