Description - External
1. Material Allocation. Does not do receiving transactions. Instead, will take inventory from a receiver and kit the product into Kanban quantities for the cell.
2. Put away at point of use. Puts inventory away. Will collaborate with team members to determine right location and presentation of parts.
3. Kanban Card Processing. Pulls card and places it at the end of the cell for processing. Will then process the card by logging and scanning the card for replenishment.
4. Inventory analysis. Before the card actually tripped, the employee will identify if the card is being turned in early or late and then collaborates with team member to understand why. If the system says inventory is too high, the water spider works with the cell employee to locate stock. If there is a discrepancy, will work with the Buyers / Inventory Controller and cell associates to resolve issues and get to root cause.
5. Problem solving. The materials employee follows through to completion resolving inventory accuracy issues by initiating requests for inventory adjustments, fabricated work orders (WO) or purchase orders (PO), if needed, to ensure accuracy and availability of parts.
6. Reviews status of aged inventory with no movement. Identify, investigate and disposition aged non-Kanban.
7. Kitting parts - Kit all non-Kanban assemblies and enter faulty material into the non- conformance database.
Qualifications - External
· HS Diploma or GED
· Excellent attendance record
· Willingness and ability to work overtime hours
· Previous lean manufacturing work experience desired
· Manual dexterity and lifting 20-35 pounds may be required
· Experience as a material handler in a manufacturing environment is preferred
· Well Organized
· Ability to deal with personnel at all organizational levels
· Aptitude for using a computer, ERP system, and programs such as Word and Excel
· Good oral and written communication
· Ability to problem solve and analyze data

The Materials Planning Director is responsible for developing production/supply plans that take into account forecasts, availability of material and manufacturing capacity. The Materials Planning Director is responsible for developing production/supply plans that take into account forecasts, availability of material and manufacturing capacity. Is responsible for identifying and maintaining the appropriate planning parameters in ERP systems to optimize subassembly production and raw material supply plans. Responsible for preparing and processing requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of goods, services, and supplies for customer-related business processes or for internal use. May also be responsible for providing materials to manufacturing areas based on planned production schedules and for the appropriate shipping of finished goods to various distribution centers utilizing material handling equipment in support of management policies for customer delivery and inventory levels. Includes buyers, planners and inventory control roles.
This position reports to the Vice President of Global Planning and Procurement and is part of the Global Supply Chain Management team located in Sunnyvale and/or Lodi, Ca and will be an on-site role.
In this role you will have the opportunity to:
+ Lead Global Material Planning/Procurement team of 15+ reports supporting Cepheid's global IVD manufacturing factory footprint. Lead, mentor, and develop effective and efficient global teams.
+ Design and execute strategic plans to optimize materials management processes (Plan for Every Part / Inventory Management / change control execution). Design and execute daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/etc standard work for team
+ Analyze data and collaborate with other departments to accurately plan, procure, and manage/improve material requirements (MRP signal fidelity / Master Data Management accuracy / Supplier forecasts / Lead Times / Minimum Order Quantities). Utilize DBS (Danaher Business Systems, Lean, or Six Sigma Approach)
+ Design and execute predictable, timely, and cost effective planning and distribution of direct materials to meet production and operational needs (effective and efficient inventory optimization).
+ Key Metrics: On time delivery, inventory turns, downtime due to material availability. Design and execute Supplier Scorecards and Daily Management Metrics to track/report.
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ Bachelor degree in Business Administration / Supply Chain / Logistics / Engineering with 14+ years of applicable experience or Masters degree in related field with 12+ years of applicable experience
+ 4+ years managing people
+ Strong proficiency with MRP planning systems
+ 4+ years demonstrated experience with MRP systems
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
+ Ability to travel - up to 25%, overnight, domestic and international

As a Materials Planning Manager, you'll lead a team ensuring critical raw materials are planned and ordered to support our Single-Use Technology Division. Your leadership and expertise will help maintain smooth manufacturing operations-driving real-world impact as we support customers making the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.
**Job Responsibilities:**
+ Lead, coach, and develop a team of Material Planners to support team growth and performance
+ Use ERP/MRP systems to manage raw material planning and ordering
+ Maintain master data accuracy to generate reliable demand signals
+ Adjust item settings and manage exception messages to ensure system integrity
+ Collaborate with suppliers to align material delivery with production needs

TE Connectivity in Greensboro, NC is looking for aManager, Materials Planning, responsible for managing inventory, purchasing, planning, forecasting, controls freight and logistics operations to ensure the highest level of operations and customer satisfaction with control over costs and resources. Determine quantity and order date for materials to meet production or engineering schedules, initiate purchase requisitions in compliance with supply agreements, and develop the schedule to be used in the production facility based on forecasts and historical analysis and collaborate with the finance and procurement teams to develop strategies to support plant cost. Lead materials planning team emphasizing safety, performance, and the development of a desirable work environment. Take ownership of forecasting, purchasing, inventory management, supply planning, procurement and logistics activities across raw materials, components, packaging, and finished goods suppliers. Evaluate and improve existing logistics strategies (freight) for all shipments inbound, domestic and international, as well as recommending new strategies for even more efficiency. Maintain inventory levels based on monthly ABCXYZ methodology. Provide glidepaths with actions and strategies to achieve company goals. Maintain the purchasing system to ensure optimal purchase quantities and timing at the lowest possible logistical expense and to provide accurate and continuous inventory information. Manage Supplier Relationship, Development, and Performance. Collaborate with our Customer Care Team to support Customer escalations or meetings.
