Job Description
- Assist other Measurement Technicians or Supervisor with routine measurement functions.
- Learn and gain a good basic knowledge of Natural Gas Characteristics, Gas Plant Operations, Engine & Compressor Operations and Maintenance, and Gas & Liquid Measurement. There will be verbal review sessions to determine learning progress and assist in the individual's development.
- Perform scheduled calibrations, gas sampling, troubleshooting, repair and installation of Electronic Flow Measurement equipment, specifically Totalflow.
- Witness and verify third party meter calibrations.
- Assist in the operation, calibration and troubleshooting of H2S monitors. Assist in locating and tracking H2S within the pipeline system.
- General cleanup of assigned work areas (Measurement shop, office, company truck, etc.)
- Assist in training of new hires or other technicians in the areas of Targa's safety procedures and policies, mechanical maintenance, and preventive maintenance procedures and programs.
- Learn to fill out applicable work/hot work permits, lockout/tagout documentation, attend and participate in tailgate sessions with others involved in work site activities.
- Actively participate in all safety meetings and safety functions.
- Responsible for his/her safety and of any person he/she may be working with.
- Must be able to perform functions as outline on Essential Job Duties for a Measurement Technician
- Learn and understand Targa's Safety Policies and Procedures and Business Ethics Policies. Plan and perform all assignments in a safe manner by utilizing the proper tools, safety and environmental precautions, permitting, and Process Safety Management, and have a basic knowledge of the effect his work will have on his co-workers and the plant and field operations.

- Possess and maintain a valid driver's license to include a safe driving record satisfactory to the company.
- Interpersonal communication skills are required in order to interface with all affected teams, personnel, and vendors.

- Solid computer skills to include Microsoft Office Software
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, with the ability to respond to call outs as needed to fulfill business objective and the ability to work shifts for plant or field conditions.

- Ability to work in changing climate conditions.
- Able to work in close quarters: i.e., work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing.
- Follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines (ex: eye protection, footwear, Nomex).

- Working knowledge of natural gas gathering and processing.

Ideal candidate would have experience in the following:
- Ability connect to and navigate RTU interfaces (Fisher ROC, ABB TotalFlow, Kimray)
- Experience with valve control/measurement applications
- Calibration of pressure transmitters, multi-variable transmitters (absolute and gauge), tank level transmitters, liquid measurement transmitters, thermocouples.
- Experience with meter runs, separators, tanks, well heads, and how to optimize production on a well.
- Ability to use a portable Gas Chromatograph to pull gas samples.
- Experience with Coriolis meters, Ultra Sonic meters, H2O analyzers, and O2 analyzers.
- Ability to inspect meter runs and re-build senior fittings

Summary: As a Measurement Technician, you will be a key player in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and optimization of our measurement systems. Your role will involve overseeing the calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a variety of sophisticated measurement instruments critical to our manufacturing processes. Through your expertise, you will contribute to the efficiency, safety, and compliance of our operations.
Essential Qualifications, Duties, and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)
- Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record & TWIC card.
- Preferred driver's license with the operating capacity Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 10,001-26,001 pounds.

- Responsible for the calibration, gas sampling, testing, operation & maintenance, etc. of propylene, ethylene, crude oil, and refined products measurement facilities.
- The measurement facilities include, but are not limited to, flow transmitters, positive displacement meters, turbine meters, rotary meters, ultrasonic, and orifice meters, flow computers, samplers, communication devices, regulators, relief valves, valves and valve actuators, transmitters, gas quality monitoring, and automated tank gauging equipment.
- Effective utilization of various measure(s) of performance (MOPs) to calibrate Rosemount Pressure Transmitters, Rosemount Temperature Transmitters, and Rosemount Differential Pressure Transmitters.
- Extensive knowledge/ability/experience with crude oil measurement-gas, diesel & jet fuel, calibrating equipment deadweight-PK, vapor and/or gas measurements, running conduit, low voltage wiring, instrument & tubing.
- Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience working with OMNI flow computers is preferred.
- Experience with Siemens Maxum Analyzers is preferred.
- Meter proving experience is preferred.
Shift/Schedule: 9/80 schedule-weekends, nights, and callouts possible - (9/80, or 80 hours of work in nine days with Fridays off every other week)

Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings - carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. **Day to Day Responsibilities:**
+ Provide technician-level measurement and testing capabilities in the optical test area at the Center for Fiber-Optic Testing.
+ Independently collect, organize, analyze and graph data, publish reports, and maintain accurate records regarding products and optical testing systems.
+ Support new product development and enhancements to existing products by organizing and conducting qualification tests.
+ Support efforts to develop new optical measurement methods for evaluating fiber and associated systems.
+ Perform routine calibration, certification, maintenance, and troubleshooting of optical test equipment.
+ Provide and maintain formal documentation of measurement procedures.
+ Develop and communicate schedules and manage timelines for assigned tasks.
+ Facilitate project completion between groups in the laboratory.
**Projects involved with:**
+ Perform testing in support of new product and process development, qualification and characterization, competitive analysis, fundamental understanding, customer issues and requests, and manufacturing.
+ Conduct optical measurement method development.
+ Conduct experiments to evaluate fiber performance and fiber reliability in the application space.
+ Support development of improved measurement and experimental techniques for evaluating the performance of fiber and related systems.
**Education:** A.A.S. in Electrical Technology (or similar), B.E.T, or B.S. in technical field
