We are currently looking for a Measurement Specialist/ Sr. Measurement Specialist for our Eight Mile, AL office.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the calibration, gas sampling, testing, operation and maintenance, etc. of Gulf South’s measurement facilities located near Mobile, AL and surrounding areas. The measurement facilities include, but are not limited to, positive meters, turbine meters, rotary meters, ultrasonic, and orifice meters, flow computers, samplers, communication devices, regulators, relief valves, valves and valve actuators, transmitters, gas quality monitoring, and automated tank gauging equipment. This position will also be responsible for environmental, health and safety and reliability for natural gas transmission through the pipeline system, along with recognition and reporting of abnormal and safety related operating conditions, accident and near miss reporting, performing emergency response procedures, performing regulatory compliance procedures, and performing repair procedures. This position requires the successful candidate to live within 30 miles of the Mobile, AL location to respond to call-outs for emergency or abnormal operating conditions and support activities at Gulf South nearby facilities and stations.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 to 5 years of pipeline and measurement operations and maintenance experience or equivalent petrochemical / oil industry experience

  • Strong mechanical and electronic aptitude

  • Strong safety culture

  • Strong computer and data process skills

  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision

  • Excellent verbal and communication skills

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Valve O&M experience

  • Control valve and OPP O&M experience

  • Associate degree or Certificate of Completion in Electrical or Electronics Technology from an Institution Accredited by one of the National Regional Accrediting Bodies

Reports To: Superintendent

Summary: As a Measurement Specialist, you will be a key player in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and optimization of our measurement systems. Your role will involve overseeing the calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a variety of sophisticated measurement instruments critical to our manufacturing processes. Through your expertise, you will contribute to the efficiency, safety, and compliance of our operations.

Essential Qualifications, Duties, and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)
  • Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record & TWIC card.
    • (Preferred driver's license with the operating capacity Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 10,001-26,001 pounds. (Louisiana: Class D Chauffer's License))
  • Responsible for the calibration, gas sampling, testing, operation & maintenance, etc. of propylene, ethylene, crude oil, and refined products measurement facilities.
    • The measurement facilities include, but are not limited to, flow transmitters, positive displacement meters, turbine meters, rotary meters, ultrasonic, and orifice meters, flow computers, samplers, communication devices, regulators, relief valves, valves and valve actuators, transmitters, gas quality monitoring, and automated tank gauging equipment.
  • Effective utilization of various measure(s) of performance (MOPs) to calibrate Rosemount Pressure Transmitters, Rosemount Temperature Transmitters, and Rosemount Differential Pressure Transmitters.
  • Extensive knowledge/ability/experience with crude oil measurement-gas, diesel & jet fuel, calibrating equipment deadweight-PK, vapor and/or gas measurements, running conduit, low voltage wiring, instrument & tubing.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience working with OMNI flow computers is preferred.
  • Experience with Siemens Maxum Analyzers is preferred.
  • Meter proving experience is preferred.


Shift/Schedule: 9/80 schedule-weekends, nights, and callouts possible - (9/80, or 80 hours of work in nine days with Fridays off every other week)

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet or humid conditions; work near moving mechanical parts; work in high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and outdoor weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of radiation and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Perform testing for patients including Humphrey visual field, OCT (optical coherence tomography), fundus photography, and a-scan.

2. Assist with patient duties (dilating eyes, retrieving records, calling doctors, moving patients.)

3. Understand adverse medical complications associated with eye medications.

4. Maintain patient confidentiality.

5. Assist with clerical and medical record duties.

6. Assist in training diagnostic testing personnel.

7. Troubleshoot the testing computer system.

8. Archive data on the server routinely.

9. Assess and repair or arrange for repair of photographic equipment.

10. Assist in the preparation of teaching materials.

11. Understand, practice and promote the mission and philosophies of the Institute.

12. Other duties as assigned.

Education, Licensure/Certification, and Training Required for the Job:

High school degree or GED

**About the role**
Responsible for Manual and Automated testing of multiple enrollment systems (Selerix, Common Census, and Third-Party Systems) by working collaboratively with the Enrollment Technologies Team. The testing process involves analyzing case requirements, state rules, underwriting offers, and effectively monitoring workflow to successfully meet tight deadlines. Additional responsibilities include identifying, documenting, and reporting defects in conjunction with performing end-to-end testing.
**Key Accountabilities:**
+ Testing. This includes confirming products, rates, forms, underwriting offer and general functionality utilizing multiple enrollment systems.
+ Testing SME: This includes Hot Fix Defect Testing/Smoke Testing/UAT Testing and communicating results to appropriate team for further action.
+ Testing process improvement: Identify areas of testing protocol which can be improved, and present ideas for improvement implementation including semi-automated testing.
+ Problem Resolution: Identify problems with case data, working on consultative solutions involving all necessary parties and providing notification on cases that may not meet required turnaround times to appropriate parties. Use alternative approaches on missing items to complete case build.
+ Training Assistance: Assist Trainer with conducting ongoing training and refresher classes as required.
+ Customer Service: Communicate with internal departments, vendors, and clients effectively and collaboratively.
+ Work Instruction Documentation: Create and enhance EnrollTech Teamwork Instructions as needed.
+ Project Management: Works independently to prioritize workload to accomplish assigned cases. Participate in projects as they arise. Takes a proactive approach to ensure program is deployed successfully.
+ Documentation of Tracking Metrics.
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Two-year college or technical degree
+ Minimum 1 year testing experience
+ Technical aptitude
+ Proficient with MS Office suite
+ Experience with using tools to query data, creating and formatting files and forms
+ Work in a deadline driven, fast-paced environment
+ Ability to Troubleshoot
+ Use of consultative problem-solving skills
+ Willingness to display strong commitment to teamwork and work in a collaborative environment
+ Strong analytical skills
+ Ability to effectively cope with a change and shift gears accordingly
+ Ability to work independently and organize own work
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Must be able to handle and meet the demands during seasonal, 4th quarter period with limited time off
+ Professional aptitude in the creation of job-related documentation
+ Ability to assess training needs and develop recommendations for new programs
**Preferred:**
+ Four-year college or technical degree preferred; or equivalent work experience
+ Minimum 2 year's insurance experience preferred

+ Proficient understanding of Selerix and/or Inspro.
The compensation range for this role is (based on the corporate location in Lake Forest, Illinois):
$24.38 - $35.23 per hour
The final salary offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for bonus.
