Job Description

Radiant is an El-Segundo, CA-based clean energy startup building a nuclear microreactor. A climate-friendly alternative to diesel generators, Radiant's Kaleidos 1MW microreactor will be the world's first portable, zero-emissions power source that works anywhere. We plan to test our development reactor by 2026 and if successful, it will be the first new commercial reactor design to achieve a fueled test in over 50 years. Radiant's goal is to bring one of the world's first factory-constructed microreactors to market. Our microreactor can bring power to remote parts of the world and provide backup power for life-saving applications in hospitals or disaster-relief scenarios.

Mechanical Designer

Radiant is seeking a Mechanical Designer to support critical path development as we near the first prototype test in 2026. You will create drawings with inputs from responsible engineers, serve as a GD&T expert for the team when checking drawings, and manage models/assemblies. This is an excellent opportunity to enable mechanical, fluids, nuclear, and structural engineers in building a highly reliable, portable nuclear microreactor. The ideal candidate has keen attention to detail, excellent CAD abilities, and can juggle multiple competing priorities.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Create, review, and finalize 2D engineering drawings in NX for subsystems and components for a nuclear microreactor.
  • Manage large assemblies or assist with complex 3D model creation.
  • Work closely with engineers to resolve issues and document changes including requirements, process updates, assembly modifications, and more.
  • Create and update templates and drawing notes to stay up to date.
  • Manage queue of revision requests and prioritize with team to identify and solve design-related issues.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in engineering.
  • 1+ years working experience with drafting, modeling, and managing assemblies in CAD software.
  • 1+ years' experience in NX for CAD modeling and engineering drawings.
  • Experience with Teamcenter.
  • Proficient in GD&T concepts and application.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with metallic structures, welded structures, and fluid systems.
  • Experience designing and managing large CAD models and drawings.
  • Ability to manage multiple drawings and models at a time effectively and with accuracy.
  • Strong ability to communicate well and frequently with interdisciplinary engineers across engineering and leadership.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with excellent ability to document processes and drawings and ensure up-to-date notes.
Additional Requirements
  • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as necessary to accomplish our mission.
  • Must work 100% onsite at El Segundo HQ.

BECCS is a carbon dioxide removal (CDR) approach that uses biomass to produce energy and remove CO₂ from the atmosphere and store it permanently underground, while ensuring food security, rural livelihoods, and biodiversity are not affected. Responsibilities

    • Create 3D models and associated 2D drawings.
    • Create Item and Part Structure (BOM) information within ERP system.
    • Develop and maintain 3D model and 2D drawing database within Product Data Management (PDM) system.
    • Perform checking duties on assembly and component level drawings.
    • Update existing drawings to current/best manufacturing processes.
    • Work closely with manufacturing personnel and engineering to ensure design requirements are met and the best manufacturing processes are used.

Job Description
In this role, you will utilize your skills and expertise to develop engineering definitions for the Airborne Mission Network (ABMN) C-130 program. Your work will involve creating and reviewing complex technical data packages, including parts and assemblies for advanced mission payloads and electronic systems. You will ensure clarity, completeness, and accuracy in layouts, drawings, and models, while identifying design errors and recommending improvements.
Responsibilities
+ Develop engineering definitions for the ABMN C-130 program.
+ Create and review layouts, drawings, and models for clarity, completeness, and accuracy.
+ Identify design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommend revisions or improvements.
+ Work with multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
+ Apply and interpret industry-standard design principles, including parametric design and model-based definition.
+ Participate in fabrication, manufacturing, and production processes.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency with Solidworks and Enterprise Product Data Management (EPDM).
+ Ability to read blueprints and understand engineering principles and practices.
+ Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools and drafting practices using SOLIDWORKS.
+ Knowledge of configuration management and government standards.
+ Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our team. This role involves designing heating, ventilation, and cooling systems, as well as plumbing systems, for a range of projects. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective design of various mechanical systems, coordinating with other disciplines, and ensuring compliance with construction documents.
Responsibilities
+ Design heating-ventilation-cooling systems and plumbing systems.
+ Perform load calculations, life cycle costing, and energy modeling.
+ Design refrigeration systems for industrial and commercial buildings.
+ Coordinate with other disciplines and work collaboratively in a team environment.
+ Review installation of designed equipment/systems for compliance with construction documents.
+ Manage multiple projects within established schedules.
+ Work on a variety of project types, scales, and complexities.
